| #2 Posted on 22.3.10 1916.42 | Instant Rating: 6.43 | This may be splitting hairs, but Just Cause 2 isn't an FPS, it's an open-world third person shooter, similar to Grand Theft Auto. I wouldn't even bother correcting, but I actually wanted to reply to this thread anyway to talk about that game in particular.
I missed the boat on the original Just Cause when it came around a few years ago, despite it being available for three(!) of the systems I owned at the time. I just didn't know much about it other than that it was a GTA clone that had Spanish flavor and jungles. Well, in anticipation of the sequel, I finally bought it off of a customer the other day for $5. And wow, it's actually a lot of fun. I can't express how awesome it is to use a grappling hook to attach to the back of a car, zipline your way into it, hop on top, then jump off and IN MID AIR pop out your parachute and fly off a cliffside. The whole thing's a hell of an adrenaline rush, and while the story and character models leave a lot to be desired and the missions are somewhat repetitive, the sandbox stuff is some of the most fun I've had in a game lately.
Now, I'll be buying Just Cause 2 on launch day. If you missed out the first time like I did, give it a try. You may be surprised how much you like it. | thecubsfan
