Last Week's notable DLC

Games
- 3 on 3 NHL Arcade {$10; free demo}

Editotal digression: this game is getting mediocre reviews, but I think that's a product of people having no idea on how to rate these downloadable mini games on the same scale as full $60.

That's what this is - a mini game. It's not deep (only about 40 players, only different by type*, no real modes besides playing the game online or offline) but it's a fun easy to pick up party game. And a fun shallow game is still a fun game.

* - I can't believe people aren't realizing the types - fast, strong, all-around - must be a homage to NES Hockey. Same thing

- Burnout Paradise: the Ultimate Paradise ($30, includes Party Pack, which is separate for $10)

Add-Ons
- High Velocity Bowling: new characters {$1 each}
- Hot Shot Golf {$5}
- LBP: Valentine's Day Mini-Pack {$3}
- Naruato: Ultimo Ninja Storm {free}
- Rock Band - Thin Lizzy, Nikko, the Pretenders and Pat Benetar
- Gutiar Hero - "Southern Rock Track Pop"

Demos
- MLB 09: the Show

The Ultimate Genesis Collection needs some Toe Jam and m'f'n Earl. thecubsfan is a poindexter. KJames199 is a peanut. But I might buy it anyway for Congo Bongo even though it sucked.

Seconding the Toejam and Earl love--how did that game never get a revival?

I understand there's a lot of furor over the Genesis collection, as it (rather stupidly as every other collection I know of has done it) leaves out the ability to link Sonic and Knuckles to Sonic 3 and Sonic 2.

It's not a deal-breaker for me (not with all 4 Phantasy Star games, the SOR and Golden Axe trilogies and Shinobi 3 to boot) but it's an issue to some.

As for me, I'd have loved it if Gunstar Heroes made it onto the disc. That game is righteous.

Well, 1 and 2 are on the Virtual Console, and TJ&E3 came out for Xbox - and as far as I can tell, nobody bought it - so I guess the market is devoted, but very small.

Eh, if one owns a Wii, TJ&E's available on Virtual Console, and the Sonic Genesis Collection's on GameCube, so everything's copacetic.

Yup, it`s a fanboy thread. So I got REEEEEEEEAL close to buying the Famicon GBA at Osu but I`m holding out. Nothing beats my gray-shelled, red buttoned baby. And yeah, the individual prices for the games suck, but the lineup here is pretty awesome.
