Other local stores are selling the PS2 for $179, but they don't mention "special edition". Anybody here know what the hell the difference is? edit: Yes...it's "Limited" Edition...short term memory=BAD. (edited by cranlsn on 13.11.03 1718) Promote this thread!

Because I can't see anything special about that other than it's a regular old PS2, but that may be what's special about it, since its not one of the newer ones (bestbuy.com) that comes with the network adapter (and I think a built-in IR port for the DVD remote). I had heard something about Sony dropping the price on the online bundle to $179.99, but the above ad indicates I may be incorrect. If you're reading this, the tide was in.

It also appears that Best Buy is listing a completely wrong price for the "Limited Edition", as the Sony website has them over $300! Why would a special color PS2, be a bit of history?

the white one doesn't look too bad. although, compared to the japanese special edition ps2's these things look like cheap paint jobs. meh. it says so right here in the wcw handbook!
