Disc Jam, PS4 Tearaway Unfolded, PS4 Under Night: In-Birth, PS3 Earth Defense Force 2025, PS3 Lumo, PS Vita (crossbuy on PS4) Severed, PS Vita
Disc Jam, a combination of air hockey and tennis, has the hype of being the next Rocket League. Rocket League was also was a free PS+ game, which helped it take off. Tearaway looked great long ago in a Playstation presentation but I never thought to buy it. Definitely will check it out.

Also, there's an update for No Man's Sky (blog.eu.playstation.com) which will feature a bunch new content. At some point I need to sneak in and start checking everything out. I think I've played maybe five minutes since the Base Building update.
The problem with waiting to play games until they're marked down is everyone's talking about how great Breath of the Wild is, and I'm all "hey, Watch Dogs 2 is amusing in how much they're compensating for the first game, but I really am awful at sneaking around."
I also played Disc Jam for the first time, playing without actually knowing the controls at all, and it still was super fun. I'm not sure if I could imagine playing one on one for a long time, but it's a really great two on a couch game versus two randoms on the internet game (though would be better if it could connect to games faster.)
Mostly, I can't stop playing 3 on 3 Basketball as part of some crazy mission to level up my SG to my five star level. It's all kinds of dumb, because it may not actually be possible to do that (the item I need isn't on sale) and I'll probably be mentally done with playing the game one I get the best tools to play it, but that's the story with all leveling up games for me.
I don't think I've played River City more than twice so far. I went as far as figuring out how to hook up a PS4 controller for Steam, which helped a lot, but I'm just not used to playing games on my laptop screen. Maybe I'll hook it up to my TV.

Let's continue this as my video game diary blog. I finished WatchDogs 2 very late Monday night. (Protip: the credits went over a half hour, maybe don't respectfully let them play.) The protagonist and the stories are so much better than the first game. The viilians are more one dimensional than a pencil line, but I actually liked most of the lead characters by the end and that's such an improvement.
The gameplay is not as big a leap, but it's good. This game, this franchise works best when it's a puzzle game. The circuit puzzles were the best thing about the first game and I'm glad they got a bigger role in this one. Figuring out how you could sneak to objectives without being caught was often tense and fun when I could figure out how to move people around the right way. It doesn't totally hold together. The last few scenes (Tidus Robot factory, both Blume set pieces) seemed extraordinary difficult and seemed to require a lot of being Rambo and a lot of being lucky with the AI.
There's one plot thing I need to talk about in spoilers
Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
They really did Horatio wrong in this. He gets nothing to do outside of the faux-Google mission, and even that turns out to be very obviously only to happen to give you some reason to care when he dies in the next big story beat. Except, Marcus and the rest of Dedsec must not care that much, because his name never seems to get get mentioned again.
Even worse, you know he's either dead or otherwise leaving the plot for hours before it happens. There's plenty of optional quests to go thru, only Horatio never appears in any of them because he might be dead in the plot by the time it happens. By the time you get thru the whole gang being involved but him, it's pretty obvious something had happened. They could've had some alternate scenes or come up with an explanation but they just didn't. It sticks out like a sore thumb and doesn't have the emotional impact they wanted.
I liked it enough that I might end up getting some of the DLC. (I'm also nearly up another trophy level, so I might just go back to a hunt a few of them.) Definitely worth the time at $30 if you like open world games.
New PS+ games for April - Drawn To Death, PS4 - Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, PS4 - Invizimals: the Lost Kingdom, PS3 - Alien Rage – Extended Edition, PS3 - 10 Second Ninja, PS Vita (crossbuy with PS4) - Curses ‘n Chaos, PS Vita (crossbuy on PS4)
Drawn to Death is Disc Jam/Rocket League like, a title launching on PS+. This one is 3rd person shooter/figther that had a very different look (straight out of a the margins of a junior high notebook) in trailers.
I'm not sold on the PS3 Move. With the Wii, the controller is a mandatory extension of the system, so developers must keep it in mind always. With the Move, it's more of an afterthought. Sort of like the Six-axis, actually.
