There's not much time for Rush Limbaugh to instruct Californians that Arnold's not a real conservative, or for immigrants to find out that Arnold (himself an immigrant) supported Proposition 187, or for Arnold to have to answer the question "If you're elected, what will you DO?" with more than quick sound bites.

This game is far from over, but only if the opposition is sufficiently motivated.

Prop. 187 relates to ILLEGAL immigrants. Arnold wouldn't be running for Gov. if he were ILLEGAL.

Wow, Reagan did all THAT while he was governor of California?

(Hey wait. Did you just try to blame al Qaeda on REAGAN?)

Today Sacramento, tomorrow, the White House, and then, who knows? Maybe Austria will have a total recall for its wandering wunderkind. Wundibar.

Arnold has a unique charisma when he speaks in public. That just might be enough for him to win. Thankfully he can never be President.

Prop 187 related in part to illegal immigrants, and in part to United States Citizens that happen to be the children of illegal immigrants, which is why it was (rightly) declared unconstitutional.

Because God knows we should spend billions on coddling lawbreakers...

Incidentally, Hispanics Tilt to Arnold 2-1 over Bustamante.

A child born in this country is an American citizen. Period.

EDIT: Oh, and not only won't Schwartzenegger win, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Davis won't be recalled at all. (That way, if I'm wrong - no one will remember... but if I'm right, I can gloat about it! Ah, the subtle brilliance of the OFB!)

Care to put your money where your mouth is?

Let's make a bet. If Davis is recalled, you're banned for two weeks. If Davis is NOT recalled, I'll stay away from the board for two weeks. Deal?

Hmmmm, I'm pretty proud of that "pissed a lot of people off, yet still never banned" thing, but I'll accept anyway.

The fact that Arnie now has Warren Buffett in his corner only makes his chances of obliterating the competition that much better.

Think about it: how many career politicians, from Presidents right on down, would have killed for Buffett to be working for them?

If this California stint goes well, I assume you're looking at President down the road. Just a masterstroke getting Buffett on board...

.

Arnold can't be President. He's a naturalized citizen. What has me worried is this is slowly getting closer to the scenario in Demolition Man.

Don't be too sure. Here's a story from Scripps Howard news service:

Basically, it says that there are two proposed constitutional amendments to make it so that you can run for president after either 20 or 35 years of citizenship, even if you're born in another country.

The proposal introduced by Orrin Hatch says 20 years; coincidntally, Arnold was naturalized in 1983.

Hatch's amendment and the Snyder/Issa/Frank Amendment. They're nearly similar.

For some reason, Buffet is a hardcore pro-tax lefty. I would love to have him on board with my opposition.

EDIT: Today's Wash Times on Buffett:

The selection of Mr. Buffett, the chairman of the Berkshire Hathaway investment firm, seems to contradict the Republican actor's public embrace of the supply-side economic theories of Nobel Prize-winning economist Milton Friedman.

In May, Mr. Buffett dismissed Mr. Bush's tax cuts as "voodoo economics" that amount to "major aid to the rich in their pursuit of even greater wealth" — statements inconsistent with Mr. Friedman's free-market teachings.

EDIT # 2: The best justification so far as to Why Conservatives should vote for Arnie and Shapiro hits it on the head.

It always comes down to the same thing with Conservatives:

We KNOW we're right! Since it's inconcievable someone could actually disagree with us on the issues (or our version of history, in which Reagan balanced the budget), it must just be because those poor, simple people have been programmed to salivate at the sight of a big "D."
We simply have to show them the light.

Really guys, you need to get over that if you want to have any shot at states like California. You don't see Democrats going in to Wyoming with that mentality.

Incidentally, with all of the problem Arnold has had with his alleged fascist ties, here comes Bustamante with his ties to radical groups.

More proof that everybody has skeletons if you dig. Of course, he did use slur a while back.
