It pains me to choose the Yankees, but look at that lineup and rotation. It has to be the most loaded team in baseball. Maybe ever. And for the record, I HATE THEM.

Gutsy call with the Padres. Sadly, I can't see both the Padres winning the West and a NL West team taking the wild card. It would need to be a super close race with SF, AZ, and SD all within 2 games at the end of the season, and a race like that leaves easy pickings for a wild card out of the East or Central.
I can't pick the AL because I never watch them play... but.....
NL West: Padres (Gotta pick 'em) NL Central: Cubs / St. Louis NL East: Mets Wildcard : St. Louis / Cubs
Toughest division in Baseball: NL West, where all teams may end up above .500.
The NL West winner will be the NLCS winner.

| #12 Posted on 29.3.02 1510.29 | Instant Rating: 7.87 | Well I'm going to take the chance with the Pads, mostly because there's always that sleeper team. This year I'm going with three, Pads, Giants, and Rangers.
Now that the Rangers have a little pitching, I firmly believe they can outslug their opponents to 95 wins and capture their division.
The West is going to be TIGHT. I think the Diamondbacks, Padres, and Giants will ALL be involved in a three way race for the division spot and the wild card. I like the Padres chances with their nucleus of hot young talent. I'm a pitching fantatic, but I believe this is the year the hitters are going to make the difference. With Klesko, Nevin, and Burroughs, they may have the most underrated trio of top notch hitters in the league.
The Giants have been in and out of the race for years. This may be the year they "do it for Barry!". I'll take my chances with their team holding up over the aging Diamondbacks.
Besides, taking a chance with predictions here doesn't cost me anything, so why not go for it!
On that note...
Expos take the series!

| #13 Posted on 29.3.02 2106.28 | squiz, Big Kat, and Ffej, I fear that your predictions can be ruled out before the first pitch even happens. You all picked both Chicago baseball teams to make the playoffs. For this to happen would violate the very laws of the universe, and likely cause some catastrophic ending to all existence as we know it. We're not New York, where our teams are allowed to meet in the World Series (1906 notwithstanding). We are Chicago, where we're now entering 179 combined years of futility since one of our teams last won the World Series.

I wish I could pick a third AL West team and put them in the Central cause I like both the Mariners and Angels better than anyone in the AL Central.
NL East - New York Central - Cardinals West - Giants Wild Card - Dodgers
DCS A's over Rangers Boston over Whitesox Mets over Dodgers Cards over Giants
Championship Series A's over Boston in 5 Mets over Cards in 7
World Series Mets over A's in 6
AL MVP - A-Rod - should've won last year too, but this year, more protection could help him get a 60 homerun season, that along with getting his team in the playoffs and he should be the easy winner AL Cy Young - Tim Hudson - just because I don't want to say Pedro AGAIN
NL MVP - Barry Bonds - has another monster year (not 73 homeruns though) and barely beats out Piazza who puts up huge numbers too but just barely falls short because he misses about 20 to 30 games NL Cy Young - Kevin Brown - rebounds from his injury to dominate and is the main reason i think the Dodgers will capture the Wild Card
