Okay, quick picks:

Triple Threat Match For the World Heavyweight Title-Kurt Angle(c) Vs. Randy Orton Vs. Rey Mysterio: There's some genuine intrigue here, which is a pleasant bonus for an event where the ME outcomes are usually predestined. Orton's guaranteed a title run in the next six months, and it'll probably come at the eventual expense of Mysterio, who should really go over here. The only question is what Angle moves onto following this. Given the quality of the bouts so far I'd say a rubber match with 'Taker at Judgement Day would be a good way to go.
Prediction: Rey Mysterio via pinfall.

WWE Title Match-John Cena(c) Vs. Triple H: Another tough call. The rematch is already scheduled for Backlash, which makes me lean toward Hunter showing some ass and laying down here. It'd be easy to book him into another shot a month later, plus Cena losing two on the bounce would pretty much destroy him. I won't be upset if HHH goes over, though.
Prediction: John Cena via pinfall.

No Holds Barred Match-Vince McMahon Vs, Shawn Michaels: A big ol' clustefuck with an outlandish number of extracurriculars swilling around in the mix. Shane gets involved, and maybe Hogan, and Shawn wins decisively.
Prediction: Shawn Michaels via pinfall.

Hardcore Match-Edge Vs. Mick Foley/Cactus Jack: Weeeeell, I'm a Foley mark, so I'm hyped for it. He's turned on the promo magic these past coupla weeks and succeeded in making this match actually mean something. There's a small part of me that wants to see Mick go over here and lose in a rematch later in the year....but that ain't gonna happen.
Prediction: Edge via pinfall.

~MONEY IN THE BANK~: Whilst I can see where folks' apprehension about this match comes from, I can't share it. There's only one unproven worker in the whole thing, and, it being WrestleMania, you have to know it's going to be meticulously mapped-out. Results-wise I'm torn between the two mooted scenarios....a Flair victory would be a nice reward after him busting his ass this past year, but van Dam's tells the more compelling story.
Prediction: Rob van Dam via grabbing the suitcase.

Casket Match-The Undertaker Vs. Mark Henry: Taker will win, and the match will be shockingly watchable.
Prediction: The Undertaker via closing the casket.

WWE United States Title Match-Chris Bnoit(c) Vs. John Bradshaw Leyfield: I look at this one like I looked at Jericho/Christian from Mania XX: an overlooked sleeper match opportunity. I really think this'll be a kick-ass match. Benoit retains, with challengers queuing up for the next few months.
Prediction: Chris Benoit via submission.

Hanndicap Match-Booker T/Sharmell Vs. The Boogeyman: You can't in good conscience hate on a gimmick as outlandish and excellently-played as Boogey. Marty Wright's thrown himself into the role and greatly contributed to getting it over as a fun pop-the-crowd midcard act. I'm sorry that his Mania payday has to come at the expense of the Bookerman, who's been aces since turning heel, but them's the breaks.
Prediction: Boogeyman via pinfall.

World Tag Team Title Match-The Big Show/Kane(c) Vs. Carlito/Chris Masters: I'm gonna go against the grain and pick the champs to retain. One last bit of heel miscommunication costs the youngters the match, and Carlito turns face following the decision.
Prediction: The Big Show/Kane via pinfall.

Women's Title Match-Trish Stratus(c) Vs. Mickie James: Mickie really, really needs to go over here, but I think they may be reluctant to job Trish out decisively at WM.
Prediction: Mickie James via pinfall.

Playboy Pillow Fight-Candice Michelle Vs. Torrie Wilson: Neeeeeext.
Prediction: Torrie Wilson via whatever it takes on win one of these things.

Oh, and Bret won't be there. Get over it already.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. I see only one scenario where that happens: Both heels win the MEs (HHH and Angle), and Flair cashes in and sends everyone home happy. They pop a huge Raw out of it, give Ric a month (or two) to strut, and then Hunter gets it back.

I'm with Shapiro on this one. They learned their lesson about hotshot 'Mania angles at IX, and popping one good Raw rating would pale in comparison to fat PPV buyrate they could squeeze out of Flair's last dramatic grab for glory. Why shoot an unadvertised one-night angle when it could be stretched out and milked for every penny?

Rey v Angle v Orton (World Title)

It really depends on the next match, since I can't see two heels winning back to back mains. So I'll say Mysterio

Cena v HHH (WWE Title)

Well, they're certainly running with the whole Rocky against Apollo thing here. Rocky didn't win that fight. Cena won't either, but he'll put up a good fight against the superior HHH, getting put over as a major star via a Pedigree and a clean three count in the middle of the ring

JR: By gawd he almost did it. He almost beat the Game

Flair v Shelton v RVD v Hardy v Lashley v Finlay (Money in the Bank)

Shelton seems the most likely candidate to follow up Edge's Mr. Money in the Bank bit. Flair gets a hope spot, then takes a big fall

Edge v Foley (Hardcore Match)

Edge. Foley already got a win over Carlito, which is one more win than I was ever expecting

Mr. McMahon v HBK (No Holds Barred)

Shawn. I also think this will be shockingly good

Undertaker v Henry (Casket Match)

Taker. No one's ending the Mania streak. No one really should either

Benoit v JBL (US Title)

Benoit. It seems like he just won the thing

Boogeyman v Booker and Sharmell

Boogeyman after he manages to get Sharmell alone

Trish v Mickie

Trish, then she gets beaten to hell and back

Candice vs Torrie

Torrie for no real reason

The Big Show/Kane(c) Vs. Carlito/Chris Masters

Big Show and Kane after they finally pull the trigger on the Masters/Carlito split

Does Bret Hart make a live appearance at the show, for whatever reason?

Nope

Because they get it on the other side. The buzz is there. Ric cheats his ass off and keeps retaining, so HHH has to get help - maybe Edge, while Ric has Cena. The top four guys feud, with Cena and Edge going one on one and Ric strutting and occasionally getting destroyed by the Game. Toss some HBK in there, a possibly (is he coming back?) returning Bischof and you might be able to stretch it out til summerslam.

Last year, were we excited to see when Edge would call his spot? No. We lost interest pretty quick. But with Slick Ric on the stick taunting HHH as the champ, it could get real interesting.

My 2 cents

WrestleMania.....22! 22! 22! Cmon back to me, 22! Cmon back! (10 points to whoever gets that reference)

WWE Spinny Spinny Belt:

John Cena (c) vs Triple H

The way this is being set up, it's almost as if it's being set up for HHH to say "Hey, I did MY part! There's nothing else we can do for him. This is going to have a really weird crowd reaction and God knows what it lays the groundwork for down the road.

Cena retains.
====
WWE Goldy Goldy Belt:

Kurt Angle (c) vs Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton

All things being equal, I would have preferred a 1-on-1 here, but I can understand the need for sneaky heel element, although the rule of thumb is that there's one person the crowd gets behind completely, one that's reviled and one no one gives a fuck about, which means if Kurt makes even the slightest subtle heel ploy in this, Randy Orton will end up in a vaccum for this. But also for the story they've been telling it can only end one way, and there's no telling how long this is going to last, but....

Rey Rey wins his 1st World Championship
===

Money In The Bank No Checks Straight Cash Homey Ladder Match:

Ric(k) Flair vs Rob Van Dam vs Shelton Benjamin vs Finlay vs Matt Hardy vs Lashley

This could go one of a few directions, although logic would dictate Benjamin, who they're really trying to give a heel scoot towards, gets the win to put him at the next level. The sentimental choice would be Flair, but with a proper build, they could make it seem legit to put him in a main event whenever they see fit. The only other choice would be Lashley, but I think they have other things in mind for him, but that comes later. Everyone else is in here either to fly off things or to whack people with things, and it's all good with me.

Shelton wins
=====
No Holds Barred...Ring The Fucking Bells Count Anywhere:

Vince McMahon vs Shawn Michaels

Speaking of logic, logic also says you don't have two of the same match on the same card, but when you have a grandfather with two bad quads who also happens to be the boss, you protect. Expect Shawn to be on his mega-sell, mega-bump A-game just to make this look like some assemblence of watchable. Of course, my great post-match fantasy book scenario will likely be railroaded by Bret Hart seemingly the one person who actually feels like keeping a promise...but then again Terry Funk has promised to retire a few times, so there's a grain of salt involved.

Shawn wins.
=====

WWE America...Fuck Yeah! Heavyweight Title:

Chris Benoit (c) vs John Bradshaw Leyfield

By all rights, Benoit outwrestles JBL every step of the way, until JBL can find a way to cheat and commit grand theft title. Benoit is, as always, a servicable champion, but the smartest thing they can do is let JBL run with the title for the purpose of finding the next big young face to have him put over. And it SHOULD be the opener, since it should be a good match if they give it enough time.

JBL wins his 1st U.S. Title.
=======

Street Fight...Ring The Fucking Bell Rule Strictly Optional

Edge vs Mick Foley

This is once again Mick Foley being able to bring in his match to put over the youngin...or so it seems. It won't hurt Edge to job in this match, but I think Foley's intent is to put Edge over here since he got gypped out of the main event and he's using his match to do so like he did for HHH like he did for Randy Orton.

Edge wins.

=======

The Boogeyman vs Booker T./ Sharmell T.

It should be short and involve one or both of Team T running from worms.

Boogeyman wins.
===
WWE 3-To-The-Division Title

Trish Stratus vs Mickie James

Logic here would say that Trish holds her own in a wrestling match but should be overwhelmed by a case of the Mikkie Crazies. And just for the record, Trish's momentum being stopped by Toungue Lock would be the greatest transition in wrestling history. THERE'S your WrestleMania moment! Plus Trish has to lose even if it's for the purpose of regaining it, because there's no division otherwise.

Mikkie James wins her 1st Woman's Title.
========

WWE Worthless Tag Titles #1

Big Show/Kane (c) vs Carlito/Chris Masters

Show and Kane throw the Goofapowers around, Carlito cheats, Carlito wins. And that's cool.

Team Alabama (Crimson and Wight) win.
===
Casket (For Your Main Event Push) Match

The Undertaker (w/Druids) vs. Mark Henry (w/ Davari and the 1972 Miami Dolphins, cause wherever there's an unbeaten streak that needs breaking, there they are)

Undertaker may or may not finish his WM career undefeated once he's done...that's still up in the air, but it's obvious he's not going to lose to this guy this year. It's just not happening.

Undertaker goes 14-0
=========
Caaaaaaaaaatfight With Pillows

Torrie Wilson vs Candace Michelle

Winner: (tie) The 15 year old fanboys and the nacho vendors.

I'll give this a try, since I decided yesterday to pony up the Grant for the show...

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Rey wins, whether or not the match goes on last. "Sending the fans home happy" went out with WM 16 and 17.

WWE TITLE: I really want the double-turn to happen, but I think it won't. That said, I think Cena will retain.

MONEY IN THE BANK: I'm really just into this one for the possibility of EXTREME IRISH VIOLENCE, but there's no way Finlay's winning it. I like the idea of Flair winning and challenging at the end of the night, but they've never done what the 'net wants them to do. I'll go with RVD here, if only to create a "moment" for "(X is greater than) One Night Stand"

EDGE/FOLEY: Mick doesn't need it, but I think they're done with Edge as a credible contender (not that they SHOULD be, but oh well...). Foley wins, becuase he should win at least one match every once in a while.

VINCE/HBK: Shawn wins, for sure. No Bret-terference, sadly.

U.S. TITLE: JBL wins, via chicanery.

CASKET MATCH: The Undertaker wins in a match that will rival his WM 13 match in terms of lack of speed.

BOOGEYMAN/BOOKER & SHARMELL: Boogey pins Sharmell after Booker bails on her.

WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES: I have no idea how this one has been built up, but the belts have been on the big men for WAY TOO LONG. The, um, Apple Pieces, win the belts, but eventually break up, leading to a tourney.

WOMEN'S TITLE: Mickie wins the belt, despite (or perhaps because of) Ashley-ference.

PILLOW FIGHT: Torrie...I guess.

How can you not accept that as an inevitability? If they're gonna run MitB matches every year, then the notion that the winner cashes in his shot on the same night is just as much a certainty as the notion that two guys can win the Royal Rumble by having their feet touch the floor at the same exact time.

Or someone going from first to finish, the new hot trend. Yeah, I understand the allure, but I don't think it's something to bet on for Wrestlemanias, when you're talking about an annointed title winner planned months ahead of time. They're never going to give that guy a three minute title reign.

As I said earlier in the thread - what would he do, wait a whole year? The dude's pushing 60...why wouldn't he cash it in as soon as possible? In fact, why wouldn't he cash it in against a guy who just ended a match 5 minutes previously? Against his most hated rival of the past 5 years? Ric Flair, the character, has already established that he wants title reign #17 very, very badly. And he's OLD. And he plays DIRTY. On top of all THAT, he's gonna have 2-3 hours rest. Take advantage of that shit the first chance you get.

That all makes sense from a character standpoint, but I think the character is largely irrelevant from the business standpoint. Ric Flair challenging for the world title One Last Time is something they've built two hours of Raw around a couple times, but they've never given it a full promotional push of Flair promos and video packages for weeks leading up to a PPV. If they actually let Ric get it over, Flair challenging for the belt is a big draw. And if he actually wins the belt, that's definitely something you need to build towards and make people want and anticipate before the fact, not give away for free before they even thought about wanting it.

On the contrary, the WWE has responded to the 'Net a little more than the IWC gives them credit for . . .

*Put the belt on Benoit
--Give the US belt to Benoit to add value
*Put the belt on Guerrero
*Turn Orton face
--Put the belt on Orton
*Turn Orton heel
*Turn Batista face
--Put the belt on Batista
--Don't job him back to HHH
*Turn Flair face
*Turn Angle face
*Turn Cena face
--Put the belt on Cena
*Have Rey win the Rumble

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I think it's very silly when people say the WWE never listens to the internet. They do quite a bit I believe; it may be at random times, but they throw bones every so often. All of the above are things I have seen a fair number of people want/request on this message board as well as others.

I really don't believe WWE was listening to the internet on these moves. I think they were just what they were planning to do anyway. The internet folks just happened to agree with the decisions for the most part. Perhaps it is true that some WWE employees read internet sites and whatnot, but i really doubt they actually obtain and use ideas from what they read.

I think in Flair's case, he's at the point in his career where building up to him challenging for the title just makes him look weaker. Building up during the course of a two hour RAW is almost too long. If you give them a few weeks, that's a few weeks for people to start realizing "Wait a minute, this guy's 157 years old! How pathetic would it be to have him win?" With Flair I think it's gotta be done quick, get a few weeks or a month (two months if he doesn't defend the title on TV) out of the audience cheering him before giving the belt back to Triple H before the euphoria of Flair winning the title wears off.

It's weird, but I really think that build-up at this point hurts Flair. Have him win in a big Wrestlemania Type Moment while you've got a live crowd going nuts because they just saw Ric Flair win the World Title live and ride the momentum for a little while.

Rey v Angle v Orton (World Title)

Viva La Raza! Dedication win to Eddie which means Rey Mysterio finally wins the World Title.

Prediction: Rey Mysterio

Cena v HHH (WWE Title)

John Cena wins.

Prediction: Cena

Flair v Shelton v RVD v Hardy v Lashley v Finlay (Money in the Bank)

This year will come down to two things... Finlay and Lashley will be too focused on each other... as will Shelton & Flair. My prediction is the one and only Rob Van Dam!

Prediction: Rob Van Dam

Edge v Foley (Hardcore Match)

It isn't Foley he is facing, it is the craziest sob ever in wrestling, Cactus Jack, therefore, bang bang, Cactus Jack is back and back to inflict as much pain as possible, so much so that Cactus Jack wins!

Prediction: Cactus Jack

Mr. McMahon v HBK (No Holds Barred)

I agree with everyone else thats saying that Bret Hart is going to help HBK. I will go with what the other poster said and say HBK puts McMahon in the sharpshooter, Hart comes down and gets the ref awake and the ref sees McMahon tap and then Bret Hart then puts a sharpshooter on McMahon himself!

Prediction: HBK

Undertaker v Henry (Casket Match)

Undertaker closes the casket on Henry AND Davairi and I hope that is the last time we ever see either of them. Go Taker!

Prediction: Taker

Benoit v JBL (US Title)

Should be one of the best matches on the card.

Prediction: Chris Benoit makes JBL tap after Stone Cold comes down and Stuns JBL while the refs back is turned.

Boogeyman v Booker and Sharmell

Boogeyman wins and then rubs worms all up and down Sharmell

Prediction: Boogeyman

Trish v Mickie

I predict that psycho woman Mickie James wins the Womens Title :). Hey Mickie... You so fine You so fine you blow my mind Hey Mickie (whenever I see her I think of that song)

Prediction: Mickie James

Pillow Fight: Candice Michelle

World Tag Titles: Big Show & Kane: There is no way that these two big men will be defeated by Carlito & Masters.

Does Bret Hart make a live appearance at the show, for whatever reason?

Good lord, I'm an idiot. Mickie's theme music has been reminding me of a song for months, but I couldn't place it until now......and it's the only the most obvious track it could've possibly been for a wrestler named Mickie.

I guess it's my last chance to make my picks before the show starts. Here they are:

Rey
HHH, then Flair
Flair
Foley
HBK
Henry
JBL
Boogeyman
Mickie
No-one cares
Carlito and Masters
Bret? No.

I'm on the fence about all of these, except for the Boogeyman--Booker hasn't a chance. And I guess I feel pretty confident about Rey. The rest of 'em are pretty much 60/40. I guess we'll know in a few hours...

I haven't predicted in two years or so, but for Wrestlemania, I will try my luck again.

Rey v Angle v Orton (World Title)

Prediction: Orton. It seems that Angle is no option, and that Mysterio gets the Eddie memorial title reign is unlikely to me. Plus, Orton as champion makes sense.

Cena v HHH (WWE Title)

Prediction: Oh great, the guy who held the belt over the last year vs. the guy who held it all the years before. What great alternatives! I will go with HHH, simply because there is NO CHANCE that he will job three Wrestlemania main events in a row! And I am aware that this means two heel victories!

Flair v Shelton v RVD v Hardy v Lashley v Finlay (Money in the Bank
Prediction: Yet a few days ago I doubted Flair would win it, but since HHH gets the title, it makes sense. Flair takes it.

Edge v Foley (Hardcore Match)
Prediction: Edge, what else? And why is he not having anything better to do???

Mr. McMahon v HBK (No Holds Barred)
Prediction: Is this match actually taking place? There goes the "Match of the night" streak of Shawn. He wins btw.

Undertaker v Henry (Casket Match).
Prediction: Henry. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Benoit v JBL (US Title)
Prediction: JBL. I don't think it'll be a great match, but an entertaining one nonetheless.

Boogeyman v Booker and Sharmell
Prediction: Boogeyman. Killing the momentum Boogey got would also kill the character.

Trish v Mickie
Prediction: Mickie.

Pillow Fight: Michelle.

Big Show/Kane v Carlito/Masters(World Tag Titles)
Prediction: Show/Kane, as mentioned before due to heel miscommunication.

Does Bret Hart make a live appearance at the show, for whatever reason?
Prediction: no.

Sweet dreams......

Rey v Angle v Orton (World Title)

Orton - They seem to want the title on Orton

Cena v HHH

HHH - part of me wants to say Cena but I really don't care who has the title because I dislike HHH and Cena

Flair v Shelton v RVD v Hardy v Lashley v Finlay (Money

Flair - It would be cool to have Hardy win it and then Edge take it from him somehow. It would also be cool to have Shelton win. I have no problem with Flair wining though.

Edge v Foley

Edge - There is no reason for Foley to win this match.

Mr. McMahon v HBK

HBK - Brett Hart will get involved.

Undertaker v Henry

Undertaker - I don't care who wins or what happens in this match.

Benoit v JBL

JBL - Benoit moves onto something bigger and better hopefully.

Boogeyman v Booker and Sharmell

Boogeyman - This could be the begining of the Booker Sharmel split.

Trish v Mickie

Trish -

Carlito and Masters vs Kane and Big Show

Masters and Carlito - I think I'm going to be wrong here but I want the titles off Kane and Big Show

Bret Hart will be there.

Rey v Angle v Orton (World Title)
Rey

Cena v HHH
HHH - don't necessarily like it, but Cena's belt time was up awhile ago.

MITB
Heart's with RVD - brain's with Flair. Going with the heart.
RVD

Edge v Foley
Foley - just because I'm sick of seeing him job.

Mr. McMahon v HBK
HBK - because he's been ignored all weekend, and they have to give him something.

Undertaker v Henry
Undertaker

Benoit v JBL
Benoit

Boogeyman v Booker and Sharmell
Boogeyman

Trish v Mickie
Mickie - time for a change

Carlito and Masters vs Kane and Big Show
