Am I crazy, or wouldn't it be the ultimate anti-authority stance of the ECW crowd if they showed Cena some respect? Everyone is expecting a boo-fest and WWE is booking it that way, but maybe the fans will surprise us all.
* Funk and Dreamer over Edge and Foley. Foley re-turns after the match and shakes Funk's hand, Edge leaves in disgust. * Tanaka beats Balls. Man, why didn't WWE sign Tanaka for the new ECW? * FBI beat Crazy and Tajiri * Tazz chokes out Lawler * Angle beats Orton by pin, not tapout, as RKO gets the somewhat moral victory by avoiding getting his ankle broken * Rey beats Sabu * Cena beats RVD via some screwy ending that still allows RVD to feel screwed but gives Cena a chance to feel like he still legitimately won (or else his character would give RVD a rematch). If WWE really wants to avoid a riot, why not just book this match third-from-last, then follow with Rey/Sabu and then the Funk match to end things?
"You know what the fellow said: In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock." --- Harry Lime (Orson Welles) in The Third Man
I forgot to bitch about that more. But it was such a forgettably perfectly okay Smackdown match that it's kind of fitting. And thanks for the lesson on "Je me souviens". I did actually wonder about that when I was up yonder.
