I've been thinking what's going to happen on July 27th edition of Sunday Night Heat. Will it be a Vengeance pre game show or will it be a normal Raw B show?

They recently seemed to be going with a very hard split. With the exception of of maybe a couple of 30 second PPV ad spots of the opposing brands there's no real mention of the other brands PPV. So much so that the Smackdown before Bad Blood they didn't have JR & King run down the PPV that was coming up in 3 days.

So what do you think will happen at 7PM on July 27 on TNN and what do you think is the best move?

they should go ahead and make it heat for smackdown, they skip the taped heat come ppv anyways. and they have done a smackdown match on heat before the ppv i believe, but whatever the wwe does, i'm sure there are gonna be complaints.

There are a few ways they can handle it:

1) Maybe WWE can make a deal with TNN and air a "special" episode of WWE Velocity in place of HeAT. I mean I don't think TNN would care cause itís supposed to be WWE programming at that time anyway.

2) Just air HeAT and have it all Smackdown type, even with the host, and just don't say anything and make all WWE fans mad because they are not being true to the bran extension.

(This next two are is just some I thought might work)

3) Move HeAT to Saturday (I mean who would really care anyway) and air it after Velocity in Confidential's time slot and move Confidential to HeAT's time slot permentally and, when there is a ppv, just treat Confidential as the ppv promo show.

4) Same thing, move HeAT to Confidential time slot after Velocity but move Confidential to like 11PM (so it will be after a ppv if one airs) on Sundays. And bring back WWF/E Excess and put it in HeAT's old time slot at 7PM on Sundays and make it for both shows like Confidential.

Homer: Oooh, that's bad.
Shopkeeper: But it comes with a free Frogurt!
Homer: That's good!
Shopkeeper: The Frogurt is also cursed.
Homer: That's bad.
Shopkeeper: But you get your choice of toppings!
Homer: That's good!
Shopkeeper: The toppings contain potassium benzoate.
[Homer looks puzzled.]
Shopkeeper: That's bad.

The easiest answer, of course, is to move the PPV to 11pm Saturday night. Or midnight. Yeah, midnight.

Eh, they've done Smackdown matches on the pre-PPV heat before. I remember Rey Mysterio fought Jamie Noble before No Way Out this February. Personally, I think they should just do the pre-PPV hype show like they always do. No one's going to care except a handful of smarks who'd just bitch about something else anyway.

I think they figure "No one gives a shit about Heat" (well, they're right), and will just make it a SmackDown show for that night.

Dave Meltzer was asked about this a couple of weeks ago on his show. He said they probably will do a Smackdown version of Heat or turn it into Velocity for one week.

While on the subject of prePPV HEAT, how many West Coasters out there (Or anybody not in the Eastern Time Zone) wish they would move Heat to one hour before the PPV. Sure, we could just watch the replay right after Heat airs, but that doesn't leave the evening free, and it's not live I really don't think they have important shows airing at 4-5 on Sunday. I think a PrePPV HEAT would draw better ratings than the 7-8 heat since people will be ordering the PPV.

Thoughts?

I used to want that, but most of the recap packages air on the PPV itself, so I don't miss much. Add to that the fact that most of the PPVs end at 7:45, just in time to catch the pre-PPV match. No big loss.

I will complain! You can't take away my "Stevie Night Heat", unless they, ummm..... you know, put Steven Richards on RAW! Just switch Velocity and Heat around for a week, as long as the future of wrestling(Steven Richards), gets his TV time.

I've whined about this before. It's especially annoying when they announce matches or plot developments on Heat that apply to the PPV. They always do an "earlier tonight on Heat", but it's just not the same. (F'rinstance, Teddy & Nowinski trying to turn D'Von on Bubba was much better in its entirety, rather than the shortened version.)

The other issue is that it is kind of nice to have a "pregame" show. Heat does a much better job of that than the Mark Lloyd recap-fest (which the cable provider gives us on the PPV channel for the half hour before the actual PPV starts). Maybe we could at least get the east coast feed of Heat on the PPV channel, as part of that package. (I'm sure they could think of something to fill the commercial break timeslots.)

And speaking of the Mark Lloyd-hosted "show", I thought the point was that the recap pre-game was a freebie, intended to lure the undecided into paying for the show. But apparently the cable provider decides whether it airs for free, or is only unscrambled after you buy. Silly.

Ah, that IS a good point. But this thing with HHH and me is like this: IF he gets that kind of heat, I'd rest easy knowing that his job at being a bad guy's much easier up north. Seriously, I think it depends on whether he's boring me or not.
