Man, is this show awful. First, the women's hardcore match...with a crowd so dead, you could hear someone open a beer in a gas station three blocks away. Then, a match to further D-Lo's "Whitey Is Bad" angle. Now, a ten-second DQ Lawler match with ten minutes of build - and we're not even in Tennessee (Mohegan Sun is in Connecticut). Blah.

Steph

P.S. What the HELL happened to Raven's hair?

Maybe they should have left Raven on Heat. He's a bulky tanned guy with wrestling trunks and short hair now. And with no explanation as to why.

Send Jeff Hardy home already, he's embarrasing himself out there.

That Sean O'Haire promo was ... weird.

After seeing Jeff Hardy completely fall off of the turnbuckle (without outside help), then two minutes later hit a Swanton Bomb onto Raven's right thigh for the win? Given a mess like that, I can't help but complain now.

Ohwell, Booker/Lance match is looking good and we have 30 days till WWE Nitro,WCW Raw,or WCW Nitro arrives and the Vince and Shane vs. Bischof Feud begins...should be at the least interesting.

I hate to say it, but...

Raven really needs to tan his butt. It's distractingly white.

That's all I have to say about this show.

I'm glad I get to read this now while I'm at work. I don't have to stay up late to watch RAW tonight now. Nothing like being rested for work!

Yeah, looks like they really are heading towards the Nitro idea.

Just as an aside, would it have *killed* them to let Booker and Storm have 10 minutes and a semi-clean finish? I mean, look at all of the other crap on the show, they need to trim the fat. Crash TV is dead, let it fucking die!

All I could think about was that not only isn't HHH Ric Flair, but Steiner isn't Ricky Steamboat either.

Pity JR didn't go on about HHH's expensive silk suit to make the moment complete.

Bizarre booking aside, this was the Night of a Thousand Blown Spots, right from the get-go (Jackie's horribly blown headscissors on Victoria) to the end (Kane missing his two-handed grab for Jericho's throat). Did everyone make another trip to India or what?

I will note one positive thing: The Dudley Boyz' angle has been well done so far. A round of golf claps for Mr. Gewirtz, please ...

I say Vince gets a face pop tonight.

...and a Fashion Report, too.

Puppies, in black trenchcoat and purple spandex, vs. Jacqueline, in black not much top (dang, put SOMETHING on!), vs. Victoria, in leopard print, wearing the belt, with Stevie. Crowd is SO dead. The wrestlers looked like they were doing a walkthrough.

DeadCowMan, in a BROWN dead cow, and Chief, in blue silk, chat with the, angry, Dudleys. Dang you, Bubba, and your big mouth.

Test, in "Love My Testicles" tshirt, and Maven, in M fullcuts, with Stacie, in red dress, vs. DLo, in black singlet, and H-man, in H fullcuts. Hear the gears on the random tagteam generator whiring. No, DLo, Maven's black, too! Surprisingly good match.

Bisch, don't ytou have underlings to wait in back for you?

Thhhor's door!

FView reveals Regal's diabolical plan. I sure hope the KIng was watching. King, in his gear, and JR, in his black hat, playing Greek Chorus, DO notice.

King, already in ring, vs. Regal, in red/blue undies, wearing the belt, with Lance and Flags. Dang prematch stuff was longer than the "match". Crap waste of a segment.

Jeff, in arm wrap and facepaint, with pink and yellow hankys in his right pocket, vs RAVEN!, in a plain captain's coat, with HUGE implications on who gets to job in the Royal Rumble match. Eh.

Vince, in a black wool coat, looks to be limping. Ha! Now Randy's shoulder is back down to 93%. Sean O'Haire...wants a threesome/wants to do your wife/wants to do me? Did he put on weight?

Ha! Vince, in a sportscoat, struts out to a face pop! Dudleys wanna talk, so book a match (DVon's supposed to be Vince's spiritual advisor, remember). Jericho wants in on this segment, too, so Vince makes some stipulations. Bisch wants more screen time, so HE comes out and Vince gives him an ultimatum. Tick tock, Bisch. Booya! Shane-o-Mac! Golly, I sure hope Bisch fails!

Booker, in hot crotch, flamin' "BookerT" white undies, with Goldy, vs. Lance, in red undies, wearing the belt, with Regal and flags, and FOOTAGE. Hey, Earl finally ducked! Okay match - the runin was deserved.

Hurricane, in cape and mask, vs. Stevie, in blue "SR" fullcuts, with Victoria. Okay match.

SPP, in chainmail +1 vs. cruiserweights, vs. Thhhor, in a suit, carrying the belt and bottle of water. Um, no benchpressing I guess. Just talk. Ooo, Thhhor in undies. Next!

Rob, in black singlet with green dragon, vs. Kane, in straps and spandex with pyro, vs. Dave, in black undies with red dragon, vs. Jericho, in sparkly red pants. Good match. Nice storyline development.

Overall: I liked the show lots. Allow me to prognosticate: Bischoff gets desperate and begins a "Nitro-fication" of the show but Shane comes back to save his family's show. (Gosh, that sounds SO soap-opera-ish/reverse Invasion.)

Fashion Reporter Extraordinare

Thhhor tries to explain economics to SPP, but he doesn't use the phrases "freaks and peaks", "boomshakalaka", or "booty daddy" so SPP can't understand him.

How ironic. Now he's blind, after a lifetime of being able to see.

Because ten billion years' time is so fragile, so ephemeral...
it arouses such a bittersweet, almost heartbreaking fondness.

Where in the heck are they going with O'Hare? Did you catch that promo?

The Mean Gene spot would have been ten times better if Heenan got out of the limo and starting ragging on Okerlund for putting them in the wrong place.

It really can't be said enough. What is up with Raven's hair? And I never thought I'd find myself saying this to ANYBODY but...Dude, put the skirt back on.

After tonight's HHH/Steiner segment, I'm thoroughly convinced HHH is going over Sunday.

That was a nice touch with McMahon and Orton.

I wonder if it'll turn out that Shane and Bischoff are working together to steal RAW from Vince and re-launch WCW.

Nah.

It was a sloppy show, but I still had fun. My biggest annoyance was the loud air fans moving the pyro smoke. That was annoying.

Raw thoughts:

I take back all nice things I said about the women last week. That was some brutally bad wrestling. I think every spot after the first minute was blown. Jackie looked especially bad. See what that 20-extra pounds of silicon does? (GET A REDUCTION, JACKIE! THOSE THINGS ARE JUST DISTURBING NOW.)

I was watching some old Raven in ECW clips from 1994-1997. It really shows how wasted he is nowadays. And we thought WCW did a bad job with him? I actually yearn for his WCW days now. Let me pre-face my next comment by saying that I am not trying to be homophobic or anything... But the new look made Raven look especially gay. And with Jeff Hardy as his opponent, I was just waiting for guest referee, Pat Patterson. Raven needs to grow out his hair, get back to the jeans and t-shirt, and do the actual Raven character. McMahon should let Raven be Raven.

Speaking of McMahons, not one but TWO of them returned tonight. Will they ever learn?

First bodybuilding. Now Steiner rips all of Triple H's clothes off? Well, they certainly know how to get that 18-34 male demographic, don't they?

Did you hear the crowd reaction for the main event? That's what happens when you treat everyone not named Triple H or Shawn Michaels like losers.

Oh, gotta' stay positive. Umm... well, Vince McMahon doesn't look like he's aged TOO much since last time. I guess.

I have 2 different friends who don't spend much time on wrestling sites and don't post on any wrestling boards who both watched Raw tonight for the first time in a month or more (in case anything major happened leading into the special tomorrow that they both planned to watch) and both of them thoroughly enjoyed the show.

The womens' match definitely sucked tonight but at least they did a semi-decent job of covering most of the blown spots. And Steven Richards has became one of my favourite wrestlers now. Look at how perfectly he's played every character they've given him, can you imagine what he could do with a main event level character?

The show started out bad but by the end, I was happy. It went fast, too. I looked and saw and hour had already passed when I was expecting it to be at about the 30 minute mark. Oh, and what was that big debate about before the show on how they'd keep HHH and Steiner from fighting again this week?
