Thus explaining why he has not been on the forefront recently. Let's hope for a speedy recovery...

Powell Has Cancer Surgery

WASHINGTON, Dec. 15, 2003

(CBS/AP) Secretary of State Colin Powell underwent surgery Monday morning for prostate cancer, a State Department spokesman said.

Richard Boucher said the operation was being performed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington.

Boucher said Powell "will be there for several days before he returns home. He will be on a reduced schedule while he recovers from the operation."

This explains why Baker is heading overseas. It made me curious since Powell seemed a perfectly acceptable Secretary of State. He always seemed one of the best members of the Cabinet. Speedy recovery and best wishes.

Best wishes to Mr. Powell. No matter what the administration does, he seems like one guy that can be trusted.

Or like that George Carlin routine... "Bush, Dick, and Colin. SOMEBODY got fucked in the ass!" (About Gulf War 1: The Phantom Menace.)
