With all of the recent negative news regarding Edge, Angle, and the possibility of Goldberg; I figured it might be a nice change of pace to see which possible prospects might get a chance to shine in the void that is left by Edge and Angle.
I was browsing the OVW website and noticed Jindrak and Nova among others. I don't follow OVW so perhaps a fellow wiener can add some insight.
If he counts, then bring up Kanyon. The guy's been producing awesome matches ever since returning since his injury, and deserves a spot on the main roster.
You thought watching Thunder was bad? Raw is like watching Thunder in re-runs.
I liked Doug Basham from what I saw in his few matches on Velocity. Drew good heel heat for someone the crowd had most likely never seen before. Plus, he looked comfortable in the ring, and had some decent moves.
Matthew: You would've loved it, David. A week in a foreign country, strange people, strange customs... Dave: Oh, I know what you mean. I've been to Canada.
If Kanyon has not officially been called up yet, I would love to see him back in action, as a heel though. He is real good at getting the crowd to hate him. His pOsitively Page gimmick was funny. Plus the guys got talent. Of course, the next call up, knowing the WWE, will be Mark henry so he can team with Red Dog and Teddy Long ("groan").
Big brother representative: Now, Mr. Simpson, may I ask why you're here? Homer's Brain: Don't say revenge. Don't say revenge. Homer: Ummm... revenge? Homer's Brain: Okay, that's it. I'm outta here. [Sound FX: step step step step step... slam]
Originally posted by geemoneyI read that Basham won't be getting called up anytime soon. I'd like to see Jindrak up, personally.
hmm, i remember him being pretty vanilla back when he was teaming with o'haire in wcw. totally overshadowed by o'haire; neither had much personality, but at least o'haire had a cool look and flashy moves.
anyone watch ovw? is jindrak doing any better now?
Yeah, during the dark match, Basham was meh. Nothing that special... then again, I'm a pretty big O'Haire mark, and I hadn't seen anyone else in the match...
Speaking of OVW, anyone know why Damaja was pulled from the Rumble? If they thought he was good enough to be there in the first place...
OVW-Storyline wise, it's because he was disrespecting the higherups, so they took away his spot. WWE-wise, since they were doing the 15 Raw/15 Smackdown split, and they probably didn't want him to join a roster for just one night.
I want Nova! I really like the guy- he has a good look and some nice moves. I saw him on Velocity the other week and he looked good. I also saw him live in a Smackdown dark match in Providence around April '01, and he got the crowd going. NO ONE was cheering at first, but by the end of the match he was getting more cheers than a lot of guys who are on TV do. I remember distinctly that he hit a really, really nice moonsault and people fucking popped like crazy. It was pretty cool.
I'm pretty sure Nova's the next call-up, but he'd be far too small to move up the card. If they're serious about a Cruiserweight division (oy, how many times have I said that), then there'd be nothing wrong with pushing Nova as a serious threat for the CW title.
Damaja's not too far away from being called up and was even teased as a Rumble participant. The only minus (and it would be a BIG minus) would be that Damaja's debut might possibly mark the return of Jackie Gayda, as she's currently Damaja's valet.
Rene Dupree is a LONG way from being called up, as WWE is looking at him to be the next Flair. They're going to take their sweet time with this kid, as there's definite buzz that he is indeed a can't-miss prospect.
I still don't understand why Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway haven't been brought in as a tag team. Pimped as "The Lords of the Ring", I could have pictured THESE TWO taking Haas and Benjamin's slots as Team Angle, since they're supposedly amazing wrestlers. Maybe they don't have the charisma to carry the role. But I'd still hope these two would be called up, if for no other reason, then to spice up Raw's stale tag division.
Forget Brock! TRINITY is the Next Big Thing! Congrats to both Kid Kash and TRINITY~! on signing long-term deals with TNA!

THough most of the time the guys that get released are very low on the card or not on tv at all. But if they release a lot of guys, a battle royale would be fun. Winner gets to keep their job, the rest is gone
