I've a couple of times come across things that I'd like to bring to the attention of a moderator. (Current example is a typo in the title of an RIP thread in Current Events. Not a huge deal, but would be a good thing to get fixed.) A couple of times I've tried sending a PM to whichever moderator is logged on, but seem to have an uncanny knack for just missing them.
I can see where it might be tricky, but then, I don't know what sort of super-secret moderator magic you already have built into the board.

Tangentially, I also HAAAAAAAAAAATE editing typos in thread titles. I've said this many times but if you're the right person and you find the right moderator who feels the right amount of confidence, some typos nonetheless somehow get fixed all the same, which is why we're not mourning Feraldine even as we speak - I can't bring myself to change it back.

Couldn't that problem be solved by simply allowing the thread creator to edit the name of the thread? Though I suppose that would create the potential for abuse. It was me. I know you hate fixing typos in thread titles but for the RIP threads, it really bugs me when names aren't spelled right. | The Goon

Why?

I dunno. I see why he wants it that way, but this is one that I've never agreed with either.

Nobody ever thought of it, probably, but I think over the years we've always wanted to make it difficult enough to send PMs that you wouldn't be able to do it unless you REALLY wanted to.
