I hope they catch the bastard. This (and lack of time) are what have kept me from visiting friends in Columbus.
And I will show you something different from either Your shadow at morning striding behind you Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you; I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
Vegas? Hmm, looks like he was coming over for a visit.
Report: Ohio Sniper Suspect Captured in Las Vegas
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The suspect in a string of two-dozen sniper-style shootings in central Ohio, one of them fatal, was captured in Las Vegas, the Fox News Channel reported on Wednesday.
"We spoke to the Las Vegas Police Department, who confirmed that Charles McCoy Jr., was captured in Las Vegas in a Budget Suites hotel," said Fox assignment editor Sarah Courtney.
McCoy was identified with the help of his father, who turned over a gun used in the shootings, the Columbus Dispatch reported on Tuesday.
The weapon belonging to McCoy, 28, matched tests done on nine bullets from the serial shootings, the newspaper reported.
Franklin County Sheriff's Department chief deputy Steve Martin released a photograph and a description of the suspect and his car earlier this week.
His mother has described him as suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, the Dispatch said.
A warrant for McCoy charging him with felonious assault said he is mentally unstable, as well as armed and dangerous.
Most of the 24 shootings linked to the spree since May have struck vehicles traveling on highways on the South Side of Columbus. Bullets have also been fired at homes, a school and parked vehicles, with the last shooting on Feb. 14.
The only person hit was 62-year-old Gail Knisley, who was killed Nov. 25 while riding in a car on Interstate 270.
When I was in Grad school at OSU, I drove those highways all the time. It was scary enouh without a sniper. The miracle is that only one person was killed. Hope this is the right guy.
I remember last year hearing about this, and wondering why it wasnt as big a news story as the DC sniper. Then, I realised, its because the guy cant shoot.
That 270 loop is indeed scarey enough to drive. Hopefully this is actually the guy and this thing is done with!
I have a sorta-uncle (best friend of my Dad's) who lives in Columbus with his wife and son and we've both been paying very close attention to this from the word go...mostly because I've had the recurring fear for the last few months that one day the phone would ring and find out one of their numbers just came up so to speak.
So based on that I hope I hope I HOPE they found the right guy, but how the hell do you snipe with a 9mm Baretta unless you're in the top 1% of crack shots?

I downloaded this the other day and have been using it as my browser....I can't really say whether I like it more or not. The pop-up killer works nicely, but the tabs vs. windows thing...I'll give it some time.
