No, Finkel announced Benoit as being from Atlanta at Wrestlemania. Lillian also announced it on Raw, so she was not getting it wrong. They are having Benoit be from Atlanta now, and I don't get it either.
In fact, Lillian hasn't messed up anything in quite some time. She was so bad early on, but got much better. She's no Chimel yet, but she's getting there.

Well, there was that time not too long ago when she announced the winner of a match as "Chuck Goldberg".
I like Lilian Garcia and the occasional flub is part of what she adds to the show....along with the more risque outfits she has started wearing in the last year or so. :-)
I myself am truly scared that a small error was made or whetever it was, caused so much problems for you guys. I agree with what basically everyone here was saying: Who said Benoit wanted it changed?? Who said that it happened purposely?? And how can you say who cares about the Dudleyz but Benoit is over and above. Given, he is a great wrestler, but don't be a hypocrite and say that it is a tragedy from one standpoint, and meaning nothing from another. Hell I don't care if they announce a guy from Australia or Alaska or someplace if he can wrestle...
And to be honest, does anyone believe that that this is that big a deal...Seriously, this makes no sense. And yeah this means less then using numerals at WM...
Nah, the first night of the Invasion angle has got "Kevin Test" beat. Remember that aborted ten-man tag match which saw WCW and ECW join up to whomp the WWF "allstars" of Big Show, the APA, Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly? When the five WCW competitors-who were, I believe, Sean Stasiak, Chuck Palumbo, Chris Kanyon, Mark Jindrak and Sean O'Haire-she got as far as "Chris Kanyon, Chuck.....O'Haire....", then gave up entirely. Bee-yootiful.

I remember the first time they broke kayfabe with Harlem Heat really being Texans. I think it was going into Hallowe'en Havoc'96 against Hall & Nash and The Outsiders said in an interview that they were really a couple hillbillies from Houston, then Nash untters the immortal liner: "Ya, Bass Fishing O.G.'s"
I think if you're around Triple H (or anyone) every day, talking to him, learning from him, wrestling him, watching him, hanging out with him, you may have a different perspective of Triple H than the rest of us. Doesn't neccesarly make you right.
