Apparently, all the pieces are in place...everyone's just waiting for Roy to waive the no-trade clause.
Lots of folks on other boards are pretty much freaking out, mostly because we (the public) don't know which prospoects the Phils are sending. But J.A. Happ is pretty much gone.
And of course, everyone talking about this will invoke the Lee trade.
I'll reserve judgment until the details are announced, but at the very least, I'm sad to see Happ go.

Phillies Acquire Roy Oswalt (mlbtraderumors.com)
Oswalt Approves Phillies Deal; Option Won't Be Exercised (mlbtraderumors.com)
Oswalt approves deal to go to Phillies (philadelphia.phillies.mlb.com)
Astros get:
J.A. Happ :-( Anthony Gose (A, OF), 2010: .263/.325/.385 Jonathan Villar (A, SS), 2010: .272/.332/.358
Phillies get:
Roy 2 $11 million
For context, $11M is just about HALF of what Roy 2 is owed this and next year.
In addition: Philly is NOT forced to pick up Oswalt's 2012 option
Oswalt would leave Houston one win shy of the franchise record.
I really don't know what to say. Gose is a highly rated prospect. Villar might have projected to replace Jimmy Rollins. But we get to keep highly rated hitting prospects Jonathan Singleton and Matt Rizzotti - both of whom are 1B and are blocked. They would be very nice parts of other trades down the road.
I would make a snide comment about dealing with Ed Wade, but it's being said that the major negotiations were done between the Astros' owner and the Phils' president.
For the Phils, this has to be on the best trades they've ever...OH SHIT, PENDING PHYSICAL?!?

However as a Braves fan (and the Braves lead is shrinking), this is not good news for the Braves and Oswalt is now with red-hot Phillies giving them added experience and pitching at the right time in the season. | redsoxnation

No worries, my boys have had y'all's back the last couple games. Including an 8-1 annihilation of the Phillies in Oswalt's debut with the team. (I'll take the wins whenever I can get them.)
