Not a huge golf fan but with the family over for Easter it was the best thing to watch on TV. I was all ready to call this another Phil collapse but he came up huge on the back 9 and finally won a major. This is right up there with Steve Young as far as getting the monkey off your back sports moments that I've seen. Way to go Phil.
Wheel of Morality, turn turn turn. Tell us the lesson that we should learn. This has been one hell of a day; the Sox dramatic win and then minutes later Lefty winning the Masters. Unbe-fricking-lievable. Way to go, Phil.
So, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?
The same thing we do every night, Pinky: Try to take over the world!
It's Monty's by default - not by merit. He hasn't been a contender in a major for quite some time now. Sergio hasn't really been around all that long but at least he usually contends. A few more Top 10 finishes for Sergio and that monkey might fit pretty well.
As for the final round - had figured Lefty was toast when I got home from brunch and saw he was 2 over on the day - great comeback - great 18 foot putt - great moment with his daughter. Congrats Phil.
5 Time 5 Time 5 Time 5 Time 5 Time Wiener of the Day Runner-up
I was watching with family as well and watching Phil on 18 and give this little shit-eating grin on his face even before he goes to read his putt and I just look over at my Dad and I just say "he's making this".
Great great GREAT back nine to the tourney. Els didn't lose it, Mickelson beat him. Els kept going up and didn't give a shot back the whole back nine. Great booking with Els looking strong in jobbing and the right guy going over.
SIDENOTE: My poor aunt. On those two hole-in-ones on 16 she got subjected to not one but TWO renditions "IT'SINTHEHOLE!!! IT'sINTHEHOLE!!!" from my Dad and I in stereo. :)

I think this will be one hell of a season...With Tiger being all "p-whipped", it's anybodys season to take. I think Phil takes another major (He LOVES Shinnecock (sp?), site of this year's U.S. Open) before it's all said and done. What a FANTASTIC final round yesterday. Way to go, Phil...
SWEET 16!!!! Yeah, you read it right...next vs. the UCONN Lakers

Totally. Looking at the look on Michelson's face before the putt you could totally see there wasn't an ounce of doubt in his mind that he was about to win; or maybe that in his mind he already had.
He looked so comfortable, in fact, I thought he had two putts to win until just before he actually stepped up to the ball (we just finished dinner as he hit his approach on 18).
Excellent display of golf, perserverance, and personal mastery. I'd soured a little on Michelson over the last few years, but this weekend he showed some things he's never shown before. And he helped make it a great weekend of golf to boot.

Having never gone to one of these events, I didn't know what to expect. I've lived in San Diego now over 10 years and always wanted to go. Despite all the rage, I never went. Until today. I was lucky to get a free pass for the weekend.
