But the team said that doesn't necessarily mean that Manning will be starting the Sept. 7 opener against the Bears. Manning has never missed a start in his 10-year NFL career, and has missed only one snap due to injury during that time. The bursa sac provides a cushion between bones and tendons and/or muscles around a joint, and keeps the joint lubricated. Late last week, a national blogger suggested Manning had a second surgical procedure on the right knee, something Manning would not confirm Tuesday.
“I’m not really doing predictions at this point,” Manning said. “I hope to be ready, and I certainly don’t want to create this dramatic announcement. I think I will do some parts of practice today and tomorrow and I may even dress for (Thursday’s) game though I won’t play. We’ll do a short practice Monday, and then, hopefully, I’ll be full go Wednesday.”
Something has not smelled right about this whole situation from the "SURPRISE! SURGERY TIME~!" out of nowhere.
Considering Harrison's rapid decline, Jeff Saturday's injury and now this foolishness, Drew Brees is REALLY starting to look like the best fantasy QB option come draft day. (Brady - Foot; Manning - Knee; Romo - Simpson)

Speaking of which, I'd personally roll the dice and take David Garrard as a dark horse pick for QB. Between Manning and Brady hobbling around and Brees and Rivers coming off bad years, Garrard and his amazingly low INT numbers could pay off.

Non-interceptions are the kind of explosive plays that turn legends into legends with very low interception numbers. every non-interception is usually not a turnover, that's what I've always said.
I realize Roethlisberger has no line and no one knows what you're going to get with Eli on a regular basis and Palmer's team sucks and Romo is overrated. Still, though. | wmatistic

This "Jags are so tough and can win it this time" talk is getting dangerously close to Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Cubs territory.
When they show me they can win when it counts, I'll believe it. |
