Only, he didn't call it Pac Bell. He called it the new name, that I already don't remember.

In the context of baseball, the use of drugs hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, the use of alcohol hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, womanizing hurts whom? Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.
Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

But I do see cranes out in the distance. Are they demolishing some of those warehouse-looking eyesores and replacing them with "touristy" things, like hotels and restaurants? I hope they are developing the area outside the park. There's just a big void in center field, so it almost "forces" you to see the gaping hole there and the first thing that grabs your eye are those ugly buildings.

There are already plenty of hotels and restaurants near the park, in the city's Gaslamp District. And it's a stone's throw from the world famous Convention center, home to Comicon every year.
I wouldn't be surprised, though, if more development is planned, since there are quite a few blocks around the ballpark that I personally would call "seedy."
SD residents can probably speak on this better than I, a weekly visitor for the last 8 or so years.

What I didn't get good pictures of are the buildings like the Parkloft condos which are being built directly behind the park at the park. You can check out a lot of the real estate in the area here http://www.sdcondo.com/downtown.html - I have no personal relationship with this guy, but he's had a great series of web pages for Mission Valley (discontinued) and Downtown Condos. If you're looking for a Condo in San Diego, check out Lew, and let him know some complete stranger is shilling for him.

| #26 Posted on 9.4.04 1905.05 | Instant Rating: 4.85 | Just get me into the new yard. I'll be going to my first game of 20 at PETCO Park on Tuesday. I watched baseball in San Diego/Jack Murphy/Qualcomm for 30 years. Lots of it was pretty bad, some of it was good (like 1984, 1996 and 1998). When the Chargers got the City to enclose the east end of the stadium, it ruined the place for baseball. Now, the Padres have their own place, and, as a fan, I can't be happier.

I took some additional pictures of where I was sitting before, and I've got to say, just stay out of section 225. It really is the problem with my last review.
We were on the third base side in the $34 seats last night and I really liked them.
Each time I'm there I notice something else that I like.

Are they in one of the pictures, cuz I didn't see anything that was what I imagined them to be.
(note: I haven't watched Thursday's game yet and it's a couple hours until the Sunday ngiht ESPN game.)

Hey, that picture also has the Clarion in it. That's where we always stay for the Con. You really would be able to see a game from the highe--up rooms probably.
