The PET SHOP BOYS are to perform a free show in LONDON's TRAFALGAR SQUARE.
The duo have written a soundtrack for the 1925 silent film 'Battleship Potemkin', which they will perform in full.
The show takes place on September 12, and the popsters will be aided by the Dresden Sinfoniker Orchestra conducted by Torsten Rasch.
Although the score is mainly instrumental, three new songs are reported to have been written for inclusion. Vocalists are yet to be announced.
Pet Shop Boys Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe said in a statement: "It's wonderful to be given the opportunity to write a complete soundtrack to this classic film and then to perform it as a free concert in the heart of London."
The recital is one of a series of events taking place in Trafalgar Square during the summer.
Forgive me for just posting a video, but this is about the funniest thing I've seen in quite a while (includes a brief cameo from the greatest internet-famed singer of all time). Who Says Hip-Hop Is Dead?
