| #1 Posted on 23.7.04 2053.52 | Hey guys, i'm in a pickle here. I bought Hitman: Contracts a few weeks ago. Upon buying it, i made a copy of the game, as i have a horrible track record of destroying cds.
Well, as is the case, i destroyed my Hitman cd. You'd think i'd have learned by now. Alas, i had my backup copy.
But, when i try to use it, it tells me to load with the original disc. Paint me confused. Any help out there?

I bought NBA Live 2004 last season, and loaded it on my computer, and the registration code was wrong! so i called the 800 # .. and they treated me like i was a common criminal or something. Had to SCAN the disc, the reciept, the box, and the reg. code given to me. Rediculous.
Hope this goes better :)

Or ideally, just edit this one to remove my comments and confirm that it's not allowed. Just deleting it, that would be harsh.
//edit: (AMZ) I think mentioning that there are ways to get around it is obvious, but pointing them out specifically would be where the line gets crossed. Still, they should offer you a replacement, since you have an original and they copy protected the disc. The DMCA forbids you from breaking the copy protection, so your only legal option is to contact them.

If Hitman is an online game (I know nothing about it) then that is not the way to go. If it is a single player, then your way is the key for his CD.
