After watching the London-Akio match from this weekend's Velocity, all I can say is: DAMN, I'm glad London is back! Give me Velocity every week and stick London on Velocity, you won't hear me complaining about any lack of a push, because I know I'll at least be watching great matches.

Anyone else catch this gem?

Josh Matthews exagerrated by calling it a "five-star match" at the end, but it was superb for a five minute match on Velocity. I'd like to see how many weeks in a row London's matches are contenders for match-of-the-week.

The best part of London's matches = it's apparent that the WWE is letting London do his thing and not necessarily adapt to the WWE style like so many others have to. Probably because he brings so much to the table. I see him potentially becoming everything that Rob Van Dam hasn't been so far in the WWE.

I don't know about that. While last night's match was good, I still don't think it was as good as a lot of his pre-WWE stuff, although that could be do to the time constraints. If he's allowed to do that type of match on PPV, then that will be something to see.

In semi-related news, ROH has released a Best of Paul London tape. It might actually be every ROH match he's had, as I can't think of any others.

That match was pretty nice. I thought for sure that London broke his neck on that one back bodydrop. That slinghot somersault dealie was pretty sweet too. Glad I watch Velocity, because nowadays I don't even watch Smackdown.
Props to Akio too.

Great match, but how much will it really mean in the eyes of Vince? First off, I sometimes get the impression that he doesn't even watch Velocity. Second off, good matches aren't really the thing that gets you pushed in WWE. Thirdly, these guys have had great matches before and it hasn't meant a thing. I really wouldn't get excited about London advancing past the undercard and becoming what WWE didn't allow Rob Van Dam to be.

However, it was a great match, and I'd love nothing more for the WWE to put these guys either on SmackDown or a PPV to let a larger audience see it.

Scary moment of the match: Paul London backflipping from an enziguiri position and having his feet catch the ropes, thus landing head first in a moment that he's lucky didn't lead to a broken neck. Even Josh Matthews on commentary let out a "HOLY SHIT!"

The answer to WWE's financial problems...

Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.

Unfortunetly it isn't. Actually, ROH left out his two greatest matches. One is Night of The Grudges vs. AJ Styles which features the stiffest lariat I've ever seen. And the second being from Epic Encounter 2/3 Falls vs. American Dragon. This is 40 minutes of awesome.

I thought the match was great. The Chop/Kick spot in the middle of the match was great. Even Matthews and Demott had to sit back and let the action speak for it self.

But yeah I understand why he was nicknamed PLZ DONT DIE.

Sadly, WWE will attribute his overness to the new ring jacket and "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan-like stomp before his dive to the floor.

I agree that the Paul Londan v. Akio match was awesome. The entire 12-4 Velocity was tight. Main evented by a great Kidman/Chavo match to continue their fued.

More on Akio-Londan, this match was just great. Both individuals contributed to this match and it shows. I've been a big fan of both men's work for a very long time and hope that due to the response of this match we see a rematch on Smackdown or next week's Velocity.

Is this too premature or can I nominate that match for match-of-the-year yet. Because, if I can, I would also like to nominate Petey Williams v. Chris Sabin from Turning Point last Sun.

I don't usually watch Velocity (actually almost never) but for some reason I caught it this week (I think mostly due to missing all of SD and wondering what the heck Dean is talking about in some of the stuff he said in his report lol)... Lucky timing on my part as I saw London/Akio which was a real great match. The finish with London jumping off the turnbuckle catching Akio in a DDT was sweet.

I caught Velocity this week only because I'd read here about London vs Akio. To echo previous statements, great match on a great show. So pleased Paul London can still walk, I thought he was paralysed for sure.

Hey now, let's not get too excited. Yes, it was a good match, but it wasn't even the Velocity MOTY (let alone London's best Velocity match). The 2 Knoble/London matches were better, as was the Knoble/Rey from Velocity from around May or June.

Velocity usually produce ***+ matches. London is a great worker, and I would love to see London as US champ, or at least CW. He's too small for a big push

London-Kidman on the 12/11 Velocity was pretty good. Not as good as London's match with Akio last week, but still decent. It deserved to be at least twice as long as it went, so hopefully we see something more than this soon on Smackdown or on Armageddon's PPV since neither one is scheduled to wrestle then.

Due to how great London & Akio match was last week, I did watch Velocity for the second week in a row, which it hasn't happened since Josh & Tazz were pulling out commentary gold a while back... This week London match vs. Kidman match was no where near as spectacular as the week before, but it was a solid match.

I do think it's a bit absurd that this once somewhat hot feud(which is more then you can say for majority of stuff on SD) is relegated on Velocity now. The storyline of Kidman not wanting to do the SSP & then having a PPV match with London & doing it as London was getting stretchered out was awesome. It was a good match & a good reaction & one of the few highlights of a SD PPV ths year... They get rewarded by having London get his rematch win on a B-show. I thought Josh & DeMott commentating was really poor also. I usually like Josh (DeMott, not so much) but they were worse than usual for this match. Josh was going on about how London wanted revenge because Kidman eliminated him in the Battle Royal of SD, it made no sense at all considering they are heel/face & there was no betrayal in the match. It might have made sense if it was a heel whining but for a face announcer to say it concerning a face, it was dumb.

But at least WWE was in a generous mood this Christmas season, they gave Akio/Kidman vs. Chavo/London for free on Heat, as the same time saving the special PAY per view bonus match with the likes of Basham Bros. and Bob Holly. Ummm ha, like I said thanks for the early Xmas free gift... Heat match was good as well, but very surprised Akio got the pinfall win, considering he's the least pushed out of the 4 (which is saying something, ha) Maybe they are actually rewarding him for his nice showing last week on Velocity, hmmm, Naaa lol

I'd appreciate a lengthy volume on the best of the WCW Cruiserweights, featuring highlights like Mysterio vs. Kidman, the LWO, and Jericho/Malenko. Never happen, but I can dream.
