Let me tell you something, Parks and Recreation rules Thursday nights. It just does.
Nothing made me laugh harder last night than when Tom handed Parker Posey his resume and then she nonchalantly threw it away in front of him, then Leslie charged at her and they rumbled in the garbage.
Wait, no, NOTHING made me laugh harder than Chris kissing Ron on the lips for his birthday and Ron's reaction.
I realized last night I've seen Parker Posey in maybe a dozen movies since Party Girl in 1995 and Parks and Rec actually made me like her for the first time.
Eagleton was another brilliant addition to their universe building. Their town hall meeting was perfect, completely the opposite of a Pawnee meeting but no less bizarre.
Ron Swanson's birthday party: Porterhouse, whiskey, cigar, Bridge on the River Kwai on Blu-ray. Stupendous. Magnificent. I want that exact same birthday. No one is invited.
Nothing made me laugh harder than Ron's various facial reactions to all things birthday related.

A flying cross body from Amy Poehler('s stunt double)! Good God, King!

Having attended a local city council meeting in which someone, during the Vox Populi, actually (and loudly and repeatedly) barked like a dog, I can assure you that Pawnee's town hall meetings are barely exaggerations.
This show is righteously funny - but, much more than that, there's not a character that isn't well developed. Even the secondary characters have some depth.
I loved the dialogue between Ron and Leslie at the very end.
Hulu is not an option for us Canadians. Well, it is if I use my technowizzard skills, but we didn't want to mess around too much with the laptop we have hooked up to the TV.
But CityTV is Canadian, and thus hansen9j now has a 10 rating from me. Meager, yes, but it's all I can do at this time.
I'm now as caught up as I can be, watched all the ones that were available with my wife. Many laughs were had. Many. I still love this show, it's still my favorite thing on TV right now. I'll still get the seasons on DVD because it's the kind of show I'd watch over and over again, it's that good.
The ending of this episode was very nice, between the baseball diamond and the birthday party. A party which is very Swanson, and you could tell he was touched. And I'm super impressed that Leslie pulled off a Kansas City Shuffle (a gambit totally based off of misdirection) regarding said party.
After a (very) long hiatus, I have begun to write again. And this time, I'm not alone!
