Any Paintball players out there in Wienerville? I'm just a rec player myself. I played again this weekend and just signed up for the World Record Game at Skirmish in Jim Thorpe and I'm just in a total paintball mood today. I've been into it for about 4 years now, but due to lack of friends that play I rarely get the chance.
Not since my old National Guard unit used paintball as infantry training several years ago. VERY effective...I never knew I was so lousy at sneaking through tall grass in full pack, helmet and weapon. D'oh!
Sleep better at night...tell your local infantry sergeants to get the troops to your friendly neighborhood paintball course and keep America free! Schnell!
Star wipe, and...we're out. Thrillin' ain't easy. . . THE THRILL ACW-TV/Home Video Technical Director Emeritus...and A2NWO 4 Life!
We took my brother to a local paintball place for his bachelor party. Since we didn't have a real large group, the "hit once and your out" and "capture the flag" type games quickly got boring. So...the "host" of the game suggested we play "To the Pain".
We all looked a little dumbfounded until he explained. You can stay in the game as long as you like no matter how often you are hit. The only way out of the game is to quit because you couldn't take any more.
This ended up being much more brutal than it sounds. Some of us determined that the best strategy was to take cover and watch for others to run out of ammo. Then while he was re-loading 2 or 3 of us would calmly walk up to him and unload.
We all ended up with humongous welts from this, but we did have a blast.
The best part of the afternoon? One player who was more of a "friend of a friend of a friend" who had been playing rather dirty made it onto our shitlist for a lot of nut shots. On the last game, we all cornered him and had our vengeance.
I love Paintball!! I play every Sunday religiously. 4 Weeks I was in a tournament, it was awesome..I took out 2 teams myself. I use a Tippmann 98C with a Winforce Barrell..nothing fancy. I've never played the game "to the pain" but man it sounds like fun. I know in the Tourney I was in..just because you hit someone didn't mean they were out..if the ref didn't see the shot they kept on playing. So whenever I shot someone I shot them about 8 times..they eventually said they were out. I plan on getting a Black Dragun for Tourneys but I'll always use a Tippmann for regular rec playing, nothing is as good..I've crawled through dirt with mine..been underwater with it..and its awesome..always keeps firing :). Anyway my 2 cents.
I've been to two different fields and they both had different names for the "to the pain". the first place called it "pain or paint" and the second simply called it "the pain game". I played it with 3 other friends who were new to the game. I was tired by the end of the day and these guys were playing regular hide and seek like a bunch of babies so I just walked around until they shot me and revealed themselves. Then I was able to wail on them while they ran like cowards. I need to start looking in my area for people who play more often. Paintball really is the best thing since sliced bread. 4 years ago at the World Record Game there was a former Marine who was like 65 or so. He won the prize for the oldest player. That guy could kick ass. I sure hope he's still kicking it around this year at the game.
Sigh. I wanted my first time to be special, but...
Why the heck does the snowplow have to plow snow right INTO my driveway? I mean, if you've GOT to put the snow in someone's driveway (instead of the amply available curb space)
