Seriously? One game from the World Series in what was supposed to be a "rebuilding" year. I just don't see the logic. With all the youth this team has, why not keep the skipper who's been there with them as they flourish? I hope Cashman knows what he is doing. Girardi has made plenty of mistakes during his tenure, and every time he's been questioned about it he insists it was the best call to make at the time. Confident, yes, but accountable? No. "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Frown and the world laughs at you." -Me.

6 playoffs in 10 years, one WS Ring, a game away this year... Seems like "what have you done for me lately" doesn't apply. The official reasoning is he wanted to be with his family more. I'm sure he's still pissed the Cubs didn't give him a chance.
Not only have they not gotten pitching this offseason, but they've actually LOST pitching when you remember that Tom Glavine signed with the Braves a few weeks ago.
