Yep, that's yours truly shooting a William Henderson interview. (And that's just my polo shirt peeking out from under that blue sweatshirt, people! Get your heads outta the gutter!)
But there's been a massacre @ Lambeau on Friday the 13th...six assistants and two others got the Vince McMahon treatment. I'll miss Larry Beightol, the O-line coach...a real character. Plus we need an offensive coordinator now (hello, Mooch?), and who knows if Bates'll stay after getting dissed for the head coach spot.
I know I said to myself several times last year when watching 49ers games that "Boy, whomever is directing this stellar offense surely deserves a head coaching job!"
This seems to smack of a move to keep Favre around for a year or two rather than a case of trying to improve the Green Bay franchise. Bringing in an old GB coach, who Favre is comfortable with, is not necessarily the best long-term move they could've made.
"Oh, gosh, you know, I'm not much on speeches, but it's so gratifying to leave you wallowing in the mess you've made. You're screwed, thank you, bye."
You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.
"Because personally if I was being choked by Ric Flair, my personal reaction would be well, "Glrrrrkkk, can't breathe" but after that... "Man, I'm being choked out by Ric Flair, this is so cool." and then some more "Gllllrrrrk, can't breathe."" (Llakor)

Really? Last season, when I thought of offensive juggernauts, the first team to come to mind was the Ravens. And lookit their offensive coordinator's career opportunities.
If you don't already read the delicious goodness that is profootballtalk.com, you really should. Mike Florio, the site operator, has an interesting analysis of McCarthy's hiring. Boiled down, it comes down to the feeling that Thompson hired a coach who won't be trying to pull a power play. Here's the link, plus the intro to the article (you'll need to scroll down to get to it):
POSTED 9:48 p.m. EST, January 13, 2006 McCARTHY A SAFE CHOICE FOR THOMPSON As we continue to scrutinize the credentials of new Packers head Mike McCarthy, who hardly could have been characterized as a hot candidate for any head coaching jobs north of the Tony Mandarich Middle School, we're wondering whether a real-world phenomenon known as protecting one's turf contributed to the decision of G.M. Ted Thompson to pull the trigger on McCarthy.
I'm surprised they aren't going Cowboys vs. Redskins (Parcells vs. Gibbs) on either Thursday or the first Monday Night Game. Have to guess that will end up being Thanksgiving late game. As for Colts/Pats in Foxboro on a Thursday Night:
