Booker T must stop doing the Spinarooni in the middle of matches. Don't get me wrong, I like Booker T, & have no inherent dislike of the Spinarooni itself. If Booker wants to spin his little heart out as a celebratory move after a match -- fine. If he wants to punctuate a promo with a well placed spin -- peachy. I'll say "whee" & clap. But stopping in the middle of a match -- sometimes twice in the same match -- to toss off a quick spin is just much too silly for somebody we could be taking seriously as a ME-er.
I could handle a brief consultation with "the hand", if he needs a bit of psyching-up during the match. That's close enough to a Hulk Up or Jericho Taunting Shuffle. And most importantly, that wouldn't significantly disrupt the flow of the match.
At least a People's Elbow, Hogan Leg Drop or RVD Forearm is a "wrestling move". Perhaps not the most convincingly devistating move in their respective repertoires, but still, a "wrestling move".
If the Spinarooni is intended to dazzle the opponent in the moddle of the match, perhaps the opponents need to be instructed to sell their suceptibility to hypnotism just a bit better.
Please, Booker -- judicious use of the Spinarooni!
I think a common mistake that is made by a lot of people is that it is a TAUNT, not a move. During the whole Rock/Booker feud, I wanted to slap the King's (or was it Heyman then? I am not sure..) "THE most electrifying move..." BS. It is a taunt. And if you stop in the middle of a match to taunt... you are a heel. SO STOP doing it in the middle of the match, unless you are going to turn!!!

I think the Spinarooni is equivalent to The Rock's kip-up or Hogan hulking-up. It's intended to psyche himself up and get the crowd going. Especially since the Scissor Kick usually follows it, in the same way the Rock Bottom and Leg Drop usually follow their respective moves. Besides, it gets a really good pop still.

Emma, I was considering started a thread about this same issue. I also hate the way he stops his offense and does the Spinnaroonie in the middle of the match. I wish he would go back to using it the same way he used to use it in WCW. He used to use it as a way to get off the mat with energy after he had been getting beaten. It was sort of like his second wind. It was very similar to Hogan's "hulk up" or the Rock and Shawn Michaels kip ups. When he got up off the mat with the spinnaroonie the opponent and the fans knew it was go time. Booker would jump off the mat with the Spinnaroonie and lay out his opponent with his back heel kick and the crowd would explode (as much as a later years WCW crowd could explode). It was much better because it fit in better with the match.
Eh. It's over. You want the crowd to stop popping in the middle of his matches, peachy. If not, let him keep doing his little breakdancy thing.

So, you don't think the crowd would pop for it if you used it as a way to become the "house of fire" after being beaten for a while? Yes, the crowd never pops for Hogan's "hulk up" or Rock's and Shawn Michaels' kip ups. I think the crowd would pop more if it was worked into the match in a more logical way.
I agree with 5th horseman 100%. Back in WCW, the spinaroonie made sense. He used the move to get up and change the momentum. He should just use it that way in WWE. The crowd would still pop and it would make sense. It's one of the few things that WCW did better that WWE
I like the Spinaroonie, but i do think that it would be better served as a "comeback move," using it to stand up after hitting a missile dropkick or an axe kick.

RVD doesn't put himself in a vulnerable position when he points to himself. If someone came at him, he could easily kick them. What's Booker going to do if someone comes and kicks him in the head while he's spinning around, though?
The Spinaroonie used to be more of a celebratory move when he came into the then-WWF. At the time, I used to equate it more to Rikishi's post-match ass-dancing. This, of course, made me concerned considering Rikishi eventually had to take on a much lower profile, but anymore said on that would lead into a discussion for a completely different thread, so I'll just stow it.

I have seen Rob get punked out many times somewhere in between the V and D ( yikes, that sounds bad ) ala Scotty Too Hotty would get it somehere in the middle of his W-O-R-M ( eww, it just gets worse ). Granted, it happened much more often in ECW but he caught it from behind a couple of times during his WWF heel debut ( I give up ).
Bubbles? Oh come on Sharon! I’m Ozzy Osbourne the Prince of Fucking Darkness. Evil, evil, more fucking evil not a boatload of fucking bubbles man.

Big difference. RVD's thumbs pointing only takes a couple of seconds. It's no different than a heel stopping to yell something to the crowd, Jericho's little shuffle, the Hardys hand sign before jumping off the ropes, Benoit's throat slashing gesture, or Angle yanking his straps down. It's just a little movement to interact with the crowd. Booker definitely shouldn't stop the spinnarooni, he should work it into the flow of the match. Just my humble opinion.
LOL! Jackson, that post reminded me of one of Angle's "I'm a man that likes to play with boys" promos.
At this point, the Spinarooni's all that Booker T has left. Let's not harp on it.
And it's no stupider than Rocky waving his arm around melodratically before dropping an elbow or Scotty Too Hotty bouncing around on one foot before doing an old dance move.
My name's Rob. Two weeks ago, I was fighting for the World Title. This Sunday, I'll be hosting Armageddon from The World. What? Me buried?
Thank you Jackson, for mentioning the WORM, because to me, that's what the Spinaroonie is becoming. It gets a pop, but it takes me out of a match. I can barely suspend disbelief enough to accept that kick to the gut would double an opponent over long enough for Booker to bounce off the ropes before the scissor-kick. Its even harder to accept that any move would put down someone long enough to do a whole breakdance routine(Spinaroonie or WORM). The old WCW Spin was alright, but the hand gets to be too much. Give Booker the title already so he can forget about his 5 WCW championships.
Its kinda like saying, whats the point in any high flying finshing move. By the time the guys got to the top rope his opponents been lying prone for a good five count and the match could easy have been over.
Come on, its sports ENTERTAINMENT y'all. If the fans like it then let hims spin his little self dizzy in the middle of the ring.
I don't mind it as much as I can't stand the Rock Bottom or the Worm as a finisher. That really annoys me.
But I do agree I liked it better when he did it after the ax kick and was already down on one knee and then he'd be already in decent position to spin up. Now he pretty much does it at any time. The problem is he's using the axe kick as a finisher now and it would be even more annoying of him doing after the axe kick spinning for 10 seconds and then getting the 3 count (like I'm annoyed with the worm and Rock bottom).
So I would rather have him do his axe kick as a mid-match move and then spinning up from that and having another finisher. Or think up another setup/midmatch move where he ends the move on one knee so he could look at his and and spin up.
As for now the fans seem to really get pumped up for the looking at the hand and doing the spinnaroooni so I wouldn't take that away from him or them. Hell I still get a kick out of it...... Suckaaaa
Does anyone else see the UT/HHH match ending in a Draw? This way, UT goes to 19-0-1 (still undefeated) and HHH is the only one NOT to lose to UT. Keeps the streak in tact and leaves Cena for 2013 to give him the 1 loss or get 20 wins.
