People can be sued in foriegn countries for libel for stuff they publish on the internet

DDP: Well, there's this little passage I got memorized, Diamond Dallas 25:17. Sort of fits this occasion:

"The path of the bookerman is beset on all sides by the inequities of the talented, and the tyranny of workrate freaks. Blessed is he, who in the name of tradition and sports entertainment carries the stiffs through the matches of Nitro, for he is truly the workrate's keeper, and the finder of lost quality. And I will lay the smack down upon thee with great vengeance and furious roid rage those who attempt to outwrestle and expose my brothers. And you will know my name as the Bookerman, when I lay my catchphrase upon thee!"

DDP & Kevin: *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!*

Well, I've got evidence that people in France like to eat human baby legs when they run out of frog legs! And thats before they perform group BJ's on Jerry Lewis whenever he comes to town!

From this morning's Washington Times...

In this collision of globalism and freedom, there are technological and legal remedies. The technological remedy is an Internet embargo. In response to the Australian High Court ruling, the Internet publishing community — AOL Time Warner, Amazon, Yahoo, Bloomberg LP, and others who filed briefs in the Dow Jones case — should use technology to block all Australian users access to their sites. The same high-tech blockade should be applied to other countries that adopt the Australian precedent.
The legal remedy is immunity. A priority for the upcoming congressional session is legislation immunizing American publishers and journalists from this spurious litigation. Now is the time to assert the primacy of our First Amendment and its protections, before the leveling hammers of globalism crush it

Don't forget their kissing. And Mr. French. The Sebastian Cabot Mr French, not the Tim Curry Mr French.

Seriously though, I'm a comedy writer working for an entertainment company with strong web prescence. Libel is basically my stock and trade. Here's hoping those Republicans will see fit to enact legislation that allows me to continue to say that all politicians are (at best) corrupt phonies who care only about themselves.

Because god knows if I wound up in an Australian prison I'd be "passed around like a goatskin flask at a Blue Oyster Cult concert". (TM Dennis Miller)
