* Finally has ring gear, in basic black.

* Finally has his own logo - can a T-shirt be far behind?

* Seemed to do a good job selling on RAW - arguably better than Jericho.

* Still got destroyed in the end - Walls of Jericho (with Jericho cranking it in deep), followed by Undertaker's patented steel-chair tracheabuster.

Looks like they may have an Undertaker-Maven angle in line, doesn't it?

Steph

He is getting better, that's for sure. The Jericho-Maven match surprised me.

What is that song he enters to? I can't get that opening guitar work out of my head.

It's "THeme from Tough Enough" not sure what the actual song is but I'm sure it's on the Tough Enough soundtrack.

Didn't they change his intro last night on RAW? I would swear it's different from Royal Rumble and the other times he's shown up.

Did anyone hear that the WWF may bring in Chris Harvard to fued with Maven an WM? Or is that just randam scuttlebutt?
I wish they would do a follow up like Survior. I want to see if Jason is still with the same girl that he gace everything up for? You know he was going to win it.

I don't think I'd bet the farm on that.

Match was really well done; Jericho guided him really well and Maven held his own, especially when you consider that he's SO green, and here he is, wrestling in front of 10,000 people for the Undisputed Championship. If THAT doesn't make you a little nervous, nothing will. Good segment, and a good beatdown by the Taker afterwards. Massive Underdog Almost Winning = Ratings!

You might notice that fans were more into that match than any other of the night except Angle-Austin. I know the match was only four minutes long, but the fans on the TV side were on their feet the entire time. I don't know the last time that's happened.

I was ultimately pretty impressed with the match as a whole.. it was proof positive that Jericho is _OVER_ as the whiny heel champ that people desperately want to see lose the belt.. they were reacting on the trained seal level that is just short of a Rocky promo for Maven.. imagine what the reaction will be for Trips at WM?

I also have to give some props to Maven.. it wasn't a Bret Hart-Owen Hart match, but for a kid who won tough enough last year, he put on a hell of a show. And Jericho knew where to lead the match.

It's by Hoshal, not sure about the name of the song though, I've always seen it as either "Maven's theme" or "Tough Enough Theme"

EDIT: I just looked it up on google and according to the page I found the actual name of the sing IS "Tough Enough"

I honestly hope this doesn't turn into Taker-Maven by nWo.. it'd somehow trivialize the use of the MattHardyizer since that was December until January to recover..

Now, if it were to happen at WM, that might be neat.. and imagine the collective pant shitting that would occur if Maven beat 'Taker at WM..

You think Darryl's sitting at home last night, watching Maven wrestle Jericho for the Undisputed Championship, then watching Maven getting punked out by the Undertaker thinking "I would've kicked Jericho's ass, then I would have kicked the Undertaker's ass, plus I would be going to Wrestlemania, 'cuz you KNOW I would have won the Royal Rumble! I WAS SCREWED BY TOUGH ENOUGH!!"

I'm really impressed with Maven. It's unbelievable all the Tough Enough participants learned over such a short time. And I still believe Maven has one of the best drop kicks I've ever seen.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see Maven for a while as he goes back to OVW(or HWA, whichever he was at). JR and the King made a point of telling us that he might have a "crushed larynx" which would be a legit excuse to not be on TV to carry on a fued against the Undertaker.

But maybe I'll be proven wrong tonight at the SD tapings.

I think Maven will eventually be a credible champion in the future, as he's already got some good skills and is mad over. But his mic skills leave a little to be desired, and while he's a respectful kid, he's still got a lot to learn.

He'll be all right, though, given time and more training. He seems to have a great respect for the business, which is definitely a good place to start.

I think it's understandable, the hometown crowd ain't going be crazy about it but overall it's good to build big matches.
