I have to admit, that botched Pedigree does look absolutely nasty - and it also looks like a great finisher. It looks like a double-underhook piledriver to me; I don't know if anyone has that in his moveset. If Maven had more muscle mass (and a little more experience), I'd loan that move to him to use as a finisher - call it the Tough Luck or something.

I always thought that Pedigree was an accident. Either way Shawn got hurt.

Isn't that a Tiger Driver?

Or am I mixing up my Japanese wrestling table again?

I'm fairly sure it is a Tiger Driver... I haven't seen one performed aside from that botched thing by HHH, but from all accounts and descriptions that seems to match it.

Yeah, except in a Tiger Driver, the guy usually curls his neck so he lands on his neck/shoulders not directly on the top of his head.

Kid Kash did kind of a variation on that for his finisher in ECW. He started in the double underhook but ended in an actual piledriver(sitting.)

I always put the Tiger Driver '91 and the Reverse DVD in my "Extremly cool, but damn if their not going to kill someone." category.

Yeah, that was a TD '91. A regular Tiger Driver is a powerbomb, not a piledriver really.

As for killer moves, Steiner Screwdriver. 'Nuff said.

I was going to the Steiner Screwdriver in my sig. That's one move that needs to be taking out of the mothballs. But who could be trusted to do it without killing someone?

I was thinking maybe Angle. I like the O-slam and all. But, unless he does it off a platform or chair it just doesn't have an impact. he could still use the O-slam as a finisher but bust out the screwdriver on PPV whenever he is booked to win. Because thats a move no one realistcally can kick out of.

Yikes. The Pedigree, done right, is still too dangerous for most people to do it without hurting someone. When done like in the movie... shit. My head hurts every time I look at it.

I dunno if Angle can be trusted to do the SSD properly and safely on a regular basis. After all, he's still only 2 years into the business, and he is responsible for the ARM-BREAKING MOONSAULT OF DEATH~! Besides, if they're iffy on tombstones and Rikishi Drivers, there ain't no way they're gonna jump all over an SSD.

Who is that getting murdered by Hunter in the video? I can't tell.

Not being the best reference on the Steiners (or, apparently, on non-American wrestling moves), I'll ask: What was the Steiner Screwdriver?

The Steiner Screwdriver is as follows: Start off with a vertical suplex, and from there, twist the opponent around so that he is facing you, then fall to your ass, and drop the opponent on his head. Like a tombstone from a suplex.

1- I read it Rikidozan
2- I remember the sig. and the following thread (lurked on the ezboard)"loved"the footage then and still do..
3- Yeah, it was some jobber back in the old Blueblood days I'd say.
4- It is a wicked pedigree/tiger bomb..hope the guy survived
5- I would love to see what happens NEXT. I guess pin and then paramedics..wonder how H and the ref reacted.

Stephanie this is the infamous Steiner Screwdriver. I think Mark Henry could pull this move off if he returns. Of course I would like to see Big Poppa Pump (healthy of course) do it.

In order for this to be an SSD, I think it needs more of the twist to it from the suplex beginning, no? Maybe it's just where the clip starts.

Just a friendly reminder... The Con is next week. We'll be there, but not setting up. I do have a panel on Friday (time unknown right now). Plus, lots of Friars baseball and, hopefully, Lucha Friday night in TJ.
