Allesandro sez: It's unbelievable; Vince is actually ADMITTING that re-hiring three guys will make fans no longer care about the WWF product and will thus cause them to stop watching WWF programming to a point where the entire company will lose money and be driven out of business ... Exactly what the internet doom-and-gloomers were predicting once the rumors of an NWO revival were started.
Nod..and with saying that do the exact opposite.. I just figured btw, and I don't mean this in a way to criticize Vince! But this is the ultimate stab at WCW. If Vince CAN pull off a good nWo angle. with a good follow up and closure, he shows that he is the king of wrestling/sports entertainment/whatever the term is he wanna use...
On the promo: It looks to me as if recently the WWF has been trying to showl the 'average' fan (that might not know the past of the wwf, wcw and whatever) some thing or two about legends.
The tribute video Vince had made for Flair was great. this video (apparently, havent seen it myself) was awesome. I loved the promo at Vengeance for the undisputed titles..etc. They have to ofcourse. Many might not know Flair for Da Man that he is, so in some way or the other they have to link him (and some others) up with that great past. I'd say they are doing a good job at that, and making the knowledgable fans happy with the tributes as well..

And while we're on the subject of the four guys that returned at the Royal Rumble, why did Goldust return in the first place? Last I'd heard, Dustin was in the TWF, his father's promotion, doing quite well for himself. Didn't he hate the freak character? Why'd he go back to it, I wonder?
Who cares the reason behind his return. Dustin is kicking ASS in his role as Goldust - and is by far the best of the four returnees since the Rumble.
The fed looks like they have big, big, BIG things in store for him, and just the change of pace from the regular cast of characters is more than enough to get me excited.
They have me hooked now on what may happen next. But, so many times, they have let me down in the past. I'm almost scared to get too excited. I don't want to jinx anything
Okay, a day later.... my one beef with RAW.... where the hell was Mr. Perfect?? He better have a match at No Way Out. Hopefully, because Austin's now booked, he can work with Angle!
-Jaguar, wishing things had been a little more Perfect
Apologize if this idea cropped up somewhere else, but I'm personally hoping that Vince gives a somewhat altered, but mostly similar speech to Flair's following a re-airing of the montage. Not only because it further drives home how Vince is trying to make Flair feel guilty for the NWO coming in, but mostly because I wanna get that montage on tape this time.
I'm the King of the Run-on!

Actually, I would argue that the upcoming influx of the NWO Three is catering EXACTLY AND ONLY TO the internet ... Instead of having them show up as the cool heels who want to "take over" (like the marks were going crazy for back in WCW), the WWF writers are portraying them in exactly the same way that all the self-proclaimed experts have been - as self serving egomaniacs who will be backstage poison
I absolutely agree. Flair's promo last night completely turned me around and, where I had planned to simply stop watching, I will likely continue now.
But any question of the NWO not being a draw were certainly erased. How many NWO signs were in the audience last night? Hundreds. They were everywhere.
You know what would be great...Vince brings out his NWO, and the locker room comes out and beats them down like they were Public Enemy (remember that a couple years ago?) Then they have to build, with a genuine reason for their anger that even non-WCW fans will understand.
Maven vs. Jericho H vs. T Austin vs. Angle Promo w/Flair and Vinnie
Somehow I still fell asleep last night, and I could have sworn I wasn't that tired. I managed to not-see the H/T match, which is one I wanted to see... LOL
No, it's not pronounced "my - cock - ran", dammit.
Lonely Road of Faith, I believe it was shown in that opening graphic with the lyrics before the footage.
I enjoyed RAW, but it also shows how the WWF is really overflowing with talent now. Look who we didn`t see: the Tag Champs Tazz & Spike, Test, the Hardyz, Val, Mr. Perfect, Rikishi, Hurricane, Tajiri (if he`s back from Japan).
Regarding the video from WWF.com- anybody figured out how to save it locally yet? I went through a couple layers of saving links and turning them into text files, but ultimately ended up with a 2-link file, one link sending me back to the same shortcut text file, the other not working.
If you can't figure anything out, wait about two days. You can jump on Kazaa or Morpheus and someone will have it. You can do the same with all Desire videos as of now.

Yeah... but if they are coming in as a huge outside power to poison the wwf then wouldn't a beat down rt away destroy the presence they have?
Not necessarily. It would establish the hate everybody has for these guys, and what do traditional heels do when they're down? They get back up and keep coming.
Follow that link, and right click on the two links there and click "Save As..." to save them to your computer.

That was just tooo sweet. You gotta love the net. That NWO promo was cool, but I miss "The following ad was paid for by the NWO".
January 4th 1999 - The day WCW injected itself with 10 gallons of Liquid Anthrax...AKA...The day Hogan "Defeated" Nash to win the WCW title in front of 40,000.
Kane vs Big Show was really good. That body slam on Big Show (I think Kane did a body slam. It might have been a different move that involved picking him up. I forgot already) scared me.
Triple H putting Booker T over is cool, and I like where the breakup with Steph is going.
Maven vs Jericho was easily Maven's best match in the Fed. The rollup sequence where he slmost got the fall reminded me of the Triple H/TAKA match from April 2000.
I have a feeling Maven will be pinning the Undertaker sometime soon. Maybe Maven's first PPV match is against Undertaker or something, I just feel like all these beatdowns are leading to Undertaker putting him over. Otherwise the segments are pointless.
Austin/Angle is great everytime.
The Flair/Vince segment as a whole, not just the video, was great. The video was incredible, but both Flair and Vince did great jobs there.
The great thing about that video was all the controversial stuff shown on it that they have been afraid to show or even address on WF TV before. They had the Montreal screwjob, a long shot of Owen, the NWO's arrival in WCW, Madussa throwing the WWF Women's Title in a trash can on Nitro, Chyna was there, Sable was there, and probably several others I'm forgetting. Just awesome.
Is it just me, or are they catering to the Smarks who would actually remember all this stuff, and even if the didn't see it, would find out about it? When I came back to watching the WWF/wrestling in general in '99-00 I wouldn't have known who any of the guys were, but because of all you internet smarks I know altogether too much about the WWF now, and can really appreciate that video.
Even if the people had no idea who 50% of the people in the video were, they knew they were legends, if not only based on context. Seeing Mr T, Hogan, Savage, Flair, HBK, Bret Hart, the old UT, and other stars they recognize was thrill enough, I am sure.

Just for the sake of nitpicking, Bret was already champ when Goldberg muled him. He won it the previous month at Mayhem in the tournament final over Benoit.
