Randall in his prime Kordell back when he WAS Slash McNabb now, healthy or Vick now...
man... tough choice...and each one is better than the next. just think how much better Vick will get as he matures, and gets a better O-Line and WRs...
ok boys, and girls, soak this up because we may never see a QB like him again...
DDP: Well, there's this little passage I got memorized, Diamond Dallas 25:17. Sort of fits this occasion:
"The path of the bookerman is beset on all sides by the inequities of the talented, and the tyranny of workrate freaks. Blessed is he, who in the name of tradition and sports entertainment carries the stiffs through the matches of Nitro, for he is truly the workrate's keeper, and the finder of lost quality. And I will lay the smack down upon thee with great vengeance and furious roid rage those who attempt to outwrestle and expose my brothers. And you will know my name as the Bookerman, when I lay my catchphrase upon thee!"
That is a very good question. His stats and career are not really Hall of Fame worthy. However, his place in football history is cemented as the man who ushered in the era of the mobile quarterback. My guess is that he will get voted into Canton but not on the first ballot. Probably 5 or 10 years down the road as a man who changed the way the game is played.
The Saturday Morning sports hosts on WIP on Philadelphia debate the Hall of Fame merits of players who are playing now and they are interesting debates. Especially the WR debate.
From the infamous Wrestleline SS interview:
DTD: If you were to make changes in WCW, if you were in charge and not Ric Flair, what would they be?
SS: I'd get rid of all the old guys, and push the talent that has waited to get the push. The things they are doing, it's back in the 1980s. It's just bad, man. Flair doesn't even deserve to be on the show. You've got to get rid of all the old guys. Like what Vince did, they started pushing guys. Nobody knew who The Rock was 2 years ago. He made The Rock. Now The Rock just did Saturday Night Live. You've got to start with the young talent, talent people can relate to. Who are we trying to relate to if we've got a 50 year old man out there? Are we trying to relate, so a 50 year people and above will go out and buy a f*cking little toy? That ain't gonna happen. It's a f*cking joke.
I can the WR Thing... comparing a guy with a sorry quarterback opposed to one getting thrown to by Montana or Marino..... which one was responsible ??
I mean Randall had an awesome arm , i saw that watching those QB CLub comps
I think peeps got mad bc he ran it too much... but thats what alot of these guys are doing now... i wonder if anyone knows a site to compare his # of runs per year to the new wave?? if so that would be sweeeet
Randall Cunningham would probably be going to the hall of fame if he had a coach that gave a damn about offense early in his career. His coach at Philly Buddy Ryan, didnt give give 2 shits about offense. so Randall wasnt really coached well.
When a chicken in this neighborhood gets angry, it will chase you down...
I loved Randall. He was my favorite player for a number of yars, and I always thought he was ahead of his time when it came to running. It seems like a guy like him would be a good prototype QB right now, big, tall, good arm, great running ability. I really wish the Bears could get a quarterback like this. I am sick of our QBs taking sacks when they could have stepped up to get away from the pressure.

Randall could hurt you so many different ways - the NFL wasn't ready on either side of the ball for his style of play at the time that he played - would love to see him now but would still probably take Vick in Riki's fantasy draft

If Randall had the Giants '90, Cowboys '93, or even the Bears '86 offensive line in front of him, he would have been top of all time or near top. As it was, Randall brought Minny to the NFC championship game before that shocking second half collapse against Atlanta.

Amazing that for two stright weeks people picked the Cardinals and are still around... I think I'll just pick (ok) whoever the Rams (ok) play for the rest of the year (ok).
