One of *the* best South Park episodes IMHDO was aired tonight; I've got a co-worker that goes for the talking-to-the-dead genre, which I respect but disagree with.

But I bet the Amazing Randy would be, or is proud of Matt and Trey on this one.

John: "I'm a psychic!"
Stan: "You're a douche."

Joyyyyy... :)

Not to mention the Rob Schneider skits... does he even realize how unfunny he is anymore?

I don't CARE, Rob Schneider still rules it and anything done by Happy Madison will likely get money out of me one way or another.

Those bits sure seemed to come out of nowhere. It's kinda odd seeing them mock their bathroom humor brethren now after years of ragging on people like Barbara Streisand and Phil Collins.

Eh, as far as I'm concerned, he's earned that treatment after "Deuce Bigalow" and "The Animal". I mean, what does it say when the ads for your movie don't even feature ANY footage?

Besides, "South Park" always had something a few levels deeper than the obvious. Satire is a lot more devious than poop and dick jokes. Not that there isn't a time and place for that. But "Park" compared to Rob Schnider is like comparing Bill Hicks to Andrew Dice Clay. A few similarities, but one is a brilliant comic force and the other a one trick pony.

The original Danny Pesina one, too.
Back to Rob Schneider for a sec -- if you've ever played Primetime Pitch on pogo.com, you could make the formula for any of his movies the same way. I couldn't tell you how stoked I am about "The Hot Chick."

And Sandler's productions, save Punch-Drunk Love, have been on a decline, IMO, after Happy Gilmore and the Wedding Singer. The only good thing about Mr. Deeds was John Tuturro -- veryvery sneaky. Ok, that, and Winona actually looked fetching in that movie.

I doubt I will ever consider myself a fan of the South Park, but based on discussions on other boards, I Kazaa-ed this episode. (No idea when it would air up here). The sad thing is the people that need to see it will either not watch it or ignore it. That alien singing the song at the end is definitely in "stuck in my head" phase.

Randi. There's nothing in this week's commentary, but there are a couple threads on the forums.

This episode was all right, I'm glad they got rid of the Kenny inside Cartman subplot.

Nothing beats the first two seasons, though.

In the late night hours, I stumbled onto apparently what they were mocking... a HORRIBLE commercial for The Hot Chick. It was seriously bad, and they did come right out and say "First he was Deuce Bigalow, then he was The Animal, now he's a woman!" and it was all kinds of bad.

I have to argue the decline of quality... I thought Waterboy was good, Deuce was ok, Big Daddy was good, Little Nicky and The Animal were ehhhh, but Joe Dirt and Deeds were both good. I've yet to see 8 Crazy Nights or Punch Drunk Love, but both look pretty good. Eh.

8 Crazy Nights might be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Not funny, often times gross, just... bad, really bad, overall.

Utilizing the belief system and work ethic (Mattributes) of THE Matt Hardy to create a better life for yourself by fulfilling your goals and dreams. Mattitude is a quality that can help anyone -- regardless of background or past -- to achieve success. You just have to make it a lifestyle, a mindset, a religion. Mattitude, is something that can not be taught or learned. Mattitude is something that burns within. In the ring, Mattitude is the intangible, the x-factor, that gives me an advantage over everyone else.

I'll give you Waterboy and Big Daddy -- but that's it. Not only is Punch Drunk Love good... it gets Sandler out of the one-trick pony style that used to work on me, and now doesn't. That doesn't mean I'm not a fan of his. I thought he was great on Remote Control. Stud Boy rules.

My bad on the spelling, Homer -- thanks.

Punch-Drunk Love doesn't really count, though. It's not one of *his* movies - it's a movie he happens to be starring it. He didn't write it or produce it or anything. (But, yes, it is damn good, and he may well get an Oscar nom out of it.)

"Of course the people don't want war ...but, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament or a communist dictatorship ... voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger."

Joe Dirt was quite possible the funniest movie out so far this decade( and I'm NOT just saying this cause I used to have THAT EXACT HAIR!). but Joe Dirt was NOT an Adam Sandler film, it was the always funny David Spade.

Back to Rob Schneider, the only memorable characters he had on SNL were the Richmeister, and Tiny Elvis.

He's lucky he's pals with Sandler.

The commercial itself was horrible, but viewing it for the first time five minutes before South Park made that episode much funnier. It fit so perfectly into the pattern of showing a Rob Scheider clip every five minutes, that I wasn't entirely sure that it wasn't deliberate.

First I liked this South Park. It was very funny and did a good job telling everyone what a douche John Edwards is.
Second Rob Schneider is not funny. Deuce Bigelow was bad and the Animal was far worse. But even if you loved both movies the commercial itself deserves mocking. "First he was a Gigolo then he was an animal." I mean what the fuck is that? They are bragging that this movie will be exactly the same as the other two? Wow that is impressive.
Third the stapler commercial isn't really all that different than the real commercial. If Rob wants to typecast his characters as a guy who really weird crap happens too then he should be mocked for it.

I finally had a chance to see the episode on tape; saw the commercial. Coincidence?

The Osbournes are supposed to be part of tomorrow night's ep. I'm curious to see what Matt and Trey have up their sleeve.

It was just Stan watching a couple of seconds of the Osbournes.

Personally, I thought that last night's episode was very funny.

In more ways than one! Yeah... I was thinking that maybe when the GOP stuff was closer to its end I could make this blog post as a look back on it. I got antsy though thinking about my photoshops and captions... couldn't wait.
