I know that feeling... I can't wait to be "THE Lions fan" though. Hopefully before I die...

From the classic Steve McQueen movie of the same name, of course.

My last name is MacQueen, and have been getting the "Oh, like Steve?" comment for years.

Medalla = a Puerto Rican beer i'm very fond off
Guy = im a guy last time i checked

It used to be cocolo(puerto rican slang for someone who loves salsa music) back in the early 90's but when the net craze started many starting using that nick also so i went and changed it to MedallaGuy since my personal website is www.medalla.com although I haven't updated it in 2 years, hmm...this long weekend could be nice to do some work on it.

Great thread by the way!

I never really had a nickname that stuck until a couple of years ago.
Friends of mine at work started calling me Rocky because I had The Rock's routine down pat, including the damn People's Eyebrow! Eventually, I cut all my hair off and grew a goatee (balding sucks). I showed up at my office on a Saturday all scruffy looking, and one of the guys called me "The Mountain Man". When they all found out I was dating one of our female co-workers, they shortened it to "Mountin' Man", and it stuck. It does get confusing because people see I'm from San Diego and wonder where in the hell the "mountain" is.
The 44 comes from my favorite baseball player of all time, Willie McCovey, who played most of his career in San Francisco but played for the San Diego Padres in the mid-70's. My custom jerseys have "44" on the back in his honor.
So there's my story.

I guess I'm kinda a combination between beer-based and old family/friend nicknames...
Steg = short for Stegmaier, a brewery in my hometown. The newer of the two Steg breweries (the old one has been converted into a credit union) has this big roaring Lion's head on the front. I've used the pic for my l'il thing in the past. I love the logo, and when I was still in high school, a few of us would always yell "STEG" whenever we passed the building. There wasn't much else to do 'round there... but I guess it just kind of stuck. I can't wait to go back tomorrow - they'll have the big Santa's hat on the Lion's head! woooo!

As for the Dutchie, it's short for Duchess, aka the mother cat in The Aristocats. I was obsessed with that movie for the longest time. But Dutchie's also a play on an old nickname. I was my pop's little Princess - and eventually that evolved into Duchess.

Wow...I always thought it was a reference to "Pass the Dutchie," that weird reggae song from the 80s with veiled pot-smoking references galore...which, ironically, was sang by a bunch of children.

I thought you were alluding to your affinity for DE WEED.

Cactuars are my favorite Final Fantasy enemies to fight against. The "Mr." part was just something I slapped in there. I don't know why, but "Mr. Cactuar" sounded cooler than "cactuar" at the time.

mine is probably no surprise but I'll go anyway . . . .

cactus - cactus jack was probably my favorite wrestling persona, even going back to the day when he was Cactus Jack Manson battling Eric Embryo

pete - short for my first name

oh and i think cactus pete is the name of a bar, a beer, hot sauce, or tortilla chips, or something.

Bongo is an old childhood nickname.
P. is an initial, short for "Pchan", an identity I use in other places.
Michinoku was lifted from TAKA Michinoku, one of my favourite cruisers.

It all started when my best friend up home and I a few years back were playing some Mario Kart 64 and I whupped him. Then we played GoldenEye and he destroyed me. It went back and forward, and we switched the games repeatedly (Mario Kart was speciality, GoldenEye was his).

At this time, I remembered an old article in a Sports Illustrated where they were poking fun at announcers who were starting to use spanish terms such as 'el centro' for 'The Centre'. I had no idea why it popped up in mu head, it just did. After a heated battle, I belted out "EL NASTIO!", which stood for 'The Nasty'. Ever sense then, it's stuck as an inside joke, and I've decided to use it as my 'net name.

Y'see, ever since I got online I've been using an online wrestling character of some regard called "Freeway". And "420" is either a horribly veiled pot reference, OR a highway of some sort.

Either way, I ain't changin' it!

I was on the academic team in high school, and we were looking at names of French painters. One of the other guys on the team remarked that Henri de Tolouse-Lautrec had the nickname of "Teapot" because he was very short and suffered from priapism, which is a painful and extreme enlargement of the, er, "daddy part." I thought it a very strange nickname. When it came time for me to pick an online handle, that was it. (If for some ungodly and unknown reason that it's taken, I'll usually append 666 to it, just because it freaks out or pisses off a significant percentage of the population. )

Well, I'm not that creative.

And I think I have seen "Cactus Pete" on a T-shirt for a bar or something. I don't remember where this bar is allegedly located, or if I even saw it. But it does sound familiar.

For some reason at the time of my registration my friends and I were greatly amused by Michael Jacksons Pet Chimp Bubbles. I think we had seen a one of them made for TV movies or something on MJ and it just started a whole flood of bubbles the chimp jokes. Henchforth when it came time to register for wienerville I chose Bubblesthechimp. Simple, easy to remember plus at the time it really made me laugh.
