Any Floridians watch the Sunshine Network late Friday evening? They had some show called "Ultimate Slams and Jams" or something like that which along with showing recent matches from an indy fed (I forget which one), it featured some older squash matches from World Class with guys like the Samoan Swat Team and even a cool Chris Adams vs. Steve Austin (w/ Percy Pringle) come-as-you-are matchup. The "main event" was Scott Putski vs. Kendell Windham which ended as a DQ after Putski's Polish Hammer was followed by a heel run-in. The Public Enemy (RIP Ted Petty) also ran in acting like they were siding with the heels but ended up helping Putski instead, so it looks like this match was taped a while back.

Anyway, other than the Putski/Windham match, the show was pretty cool and it was neat to see stuff from a decade ago, even if some of the material was squash matches. I'm wondering if this was a one-time show or a regular series, as I've never seen it before on Sunshine.

"Alright, now I'd like to show you one of my favorite cartoons. It's a sad, depressing story about a pathetic coyote who spends every waking moment of his life in the futile pursuit of a sadistic roadrunner, who mocks him and laughs at him as he is repeatedly crushed and maimed. I hope you enjoy it!"

This is probably this "UPW" or Ultimate pro Wrestling show that seems to air occasionally on my local off-brand station. We don't get a TV guide or anything, so I can't look for it, but I have happened onto it on a sunday or saturday night a few times, and like you, enjoyed the old world class/ UWF matches, (That seems to be where all the old ones come from(, plus the newer indy stuff.

We used to get that when I lived in Houston, right before "Afterburn" or whatever the WWF recap show was back then, and right after WOW. It's a fun watch, but they constantly repeated the same 3 or 4 shows every week. I can't count the number of times I saw that old Austin match (where he's wearing the football outift fighting Chris Adams). You're also bound to see some old Jeff Jarrett, and if you're lucky, some old 1-2-3 Kid that bears absolutley no resemblence to X-Pac (which is a good thing).

It just got cancelled here in Burque a few weeks ago, replaced with an infomercial and Road Rules.

Utilizing the belief system and work ethic (Mattributes) of THE Matt Hardy to create a better life for yourself by fulfilling your goals and dreams. Mattitude is a quality that can help anyone -- regardless of background or past -- to achieve success. You just have to make it a lifestyle, a mindset, a religion. Mattitude, is something that can not be taught or learned. Mattitude is something that burns within. In the ring, Mattitude is the intangible, the x-factor, that gives me an advantage over everyone else.

We get two different, and altogether very awful, wrestling shows here in Jax. One is a local promotion called the WWW. Unkind words can't do it's awfulness justice. However they run big shows here every now and then and despite all that terrible-ocity I'm still tempted to go with some friends just for the shock value.
The other one airs on SUNSHINE here, and I want to say its the FWA, Florida Wrestling Alliance, although it very well could be something entirely different. For some ungodly reason Barry Horowitz and Brad Armstrong are in it. It has the occassional "not bad" match, but those usually involve their one luchador, who also happens to be a Guerrero. I watch any and all wrestling I can find, and even though I find both of them to be pretty bad, I'm always compelled to tune in and see what's going on. Anyone else from the area caught either of these bad boys?

Treasure Planet kicked all kinds of ass. Do yourself a favor and check it out when it comes to a theater near you.

Charter Cable in the St. Louis Metro East kicks my ass weekends by playing old Wrestling at the Chase NWA stuff from the mid-to-late 70s. Lots of old school goodness, but I always seem to forget about it. Stupid memory.

Heh, I'll have to watch for that. I got much respect for the Sunshine Network, for giving me ECW back in the day when a lot of people's cable systems didn't carry it.

The UPW show ran here Yesterday and I only caught the last 15 minutes or so. They had a not bad match between P W Choi (With Tojo Yamamoto managing) and Kevin Von Erich. Gary whazisname (Gosh - you'd think I'd remember from yesterday..) He was a big heel in world class, UWF and USWA for awhile was commentating and he was a great heel commentator. He was all over Kevin and ruiing down the whole Von Erich family. It was just perfect heel commentatry. It shows how much we need this today.

As I brought up in a thread a couple of weeks ago *coughs*, I'm a Jeff Jeff fan because of his character. Yes, Jeff DOES have a character! Few can see it, and fewer probably get it.
