My UPN affiliate is down and not broadcasting at the moment. I'll be back next week. If it isn't up by next week, I'll do a 30 SECONDS TO FAME Workrate Report. Let me know how the Big Show title run is kicked off. Stupid UPN 65 Richmond.

Feel free give me guff about my TOP 100 ALBUMS of THE 70s list.

Hate you had to miss the show. Angle vs. Eddy Guerreo. Benoit vs. Chavo. Misterio vs. Knoble. Your man Al Wilson playing tonsil hockey with Dawn Marie.

Either watch Velocity or Afterburn for your Smackdown Recaping needs.

As you were unable to do the WORKRATE REPORT, DEAN, I've posted a very special Smackdown! version of my Sarire column.

It's my first and possibly only one of those.

I'm no DEAN, but it's all I can do, to provide an alternative in his absense.

Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)

Vikings (3-7) - Where the hell has THAT team been?
Badgers (6-6) - Bowl bound! Oh wait...
Buffy 7... Earns Pi x 2 points...Uh...Not really sure what I'm supposed to thing...That was one friggin' weird episode...

I think Velocity, on TNN Saturday night, is the SmackDown recapper.

By the way, I left out the Edge vs. Big Show match that was much better than I expected and the show ended with Lesnar F-5ing the Big Show AGAIN.

If this is a stupid question then my apologies but where do I find that Top 100 Albums of the 1970s list? Is it on deathvalleydriver.com or does that site only cover wrestling?

Dean, the two things I remembered most about Smackdown that you'll wished you hadn't missed:

- Brock Lesnar with a SWEET F-5 on Big Show

- Eddie Guerrero, in his match against Kurt Angle, bringing two chairs into the ring, resulting in the ref getting rid of one while turning his back, thus allowing Eddie to hit Angle with the other. Eddie is GOD!

Oh yeah, the Al Wilson-Dawn Marie stuff too!
Also, Afterburn is the recap show. Velocity is the half-recap/half-matches Smackdown equivalent of Heat.

Finally...

Guff!

There ya go!

This is SO super-OT but since DEAN brought it up and I hate the DVDR threading:

Raw Power is 24? Is this PURELY personal preference with no influence-on-music involved(even then though...)

Bowie-"Heroes", actually all Bowie is conspicuous by it's absence.

5 bajillion Roxy Music LPs and no Eno "Here Come The Warm Jets"?

No Suicide?

No T.Rex?

"Love Bites" over "Singles Going Steady" and "A Different Kind of Tension"?

Nuff guff?

Hi Dean, just saw that list of yours. Uh, Where's...

Simon and Garfunkle: Bridge Over Troubled Water
Meat Loaf: Bat Out of Hell (DO NOT LAUGH!!!)
The Beatles: Abby Road -or- Let It Be
The Police: Regatta De Blanc
Tubeway Army: Replicas
Gary Numan: Pleasure Principal

...I demand a recount! But you do have The Buzzcocks and Modern Lovers in a top 10 list, so you are not a bad person.

It was nice to see Joy Division crack the top 10. Did you happen to see 24 Hour Party People? If not, rent it as soon as it comes out.

But you forgot a record that deserved to be in the Top 5:

Nazareth - Hair of the Dog

From the infamous Wrestleline SS interview:

DTD: If you were to make changes in WCW, if you were in charge and not Ric Flair, what would they be?

SS: I'd get rid of all the old guys, and push the talent that has waited to get the push. The things they are doing, it's back in the 1980s. It's just bad, man. Flair doesn't even deserve to be on the show. You've got to get rid of all the old guys. Like what Vince did, they started pushing guys. Nobody knew who The Rock was 2 years ago. He made The Rock. Now The Rock just did Saturday Night Live. You've got to start with the young talent, talent people can relate to. Who are we trying to relate to if we've got a 50 year old man out there? Are we trying to relate, so a 50 year people and above will go out and buy a f*cking little toy? That ain't gonna happen. It's a f*cking joke.

Does it remind you of any show in particular?

DR: RED HEADED STRANGER is #6. Kiss ALIVE is on the list. SECOND HELPING is on there too. I thought about the PLEASURE PRINCIPLE but side two is soo hit and miss. I do love "Engineers". REGATTA D' BLANC is good but ZENYATTA MONDATTA is better so I opted against. The probelm with HAIR OF THE DOG is that you have that whole record past the title song. I pussed out on the ABBA and the Brothers Gibb. The rest of the records I hate.:)

You know we do have a MUSIC forum Mrs. Rock.

Your analogy is similar to:

"They already have cars that you can drive, why not blenders?"
"I can already write with my hands, why not my pancreas?"
"They already have beef that I can eat, why not granite?"

-- my new favorite quote from Slashdot comments.

Is that Gerry Rafferty record the one that "Baker Street" is on?

Yes, this is true... I could watch many, many more Benoit/Angle matches. Kane's actually a very good wrestler, especially considering his size. I've always considered him the greatest big man in wrestling.
