Okay, I've noticed this all season long, and I've just gotten the idea to post it here.
It seemed to me that every 5 minutes, Fox wanted me to go online and input my opinion on something or another. I believe they're called Instant Polls or something.
Now, how many people here have ever replied to them? I'm usually a little too busy with beer and (insert snack foods ranging from Hot Dogs, Pizza, Nachos, Pretzels, etc.) personally, (which explains why I'm a fat guy) and I was just really wondering what kind of people actually respond to these.
The image I get is of the "Ultimate Fan", with basic NFL posters, non-team, with a big screen TV on the game, his laptop, his cell-phone, the radio blaring, and a smaller TV getting coverage from CNNSI.
So, WWF, if there was say, God forbid, a comet hitting the earth, or a nuclear holocaust, or chemical or biological attack, or a bomb, or the four horsemen of the Apolycolaspe come. All I have to do to survive is watch the WWF?
I've never replied to those polls, but my TV and computer are in the same room, so when I'm watching games, I'm usually online too (as long as I don't have friends over for the game(s) or go to watch them elsewhere). So I could see how someone might want to participate in them.
I joked during the Rams game when the last two poll questions were both "50%/50%" that there were only two people voting.
Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family...Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance...Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit crushing game shows, stuffing junk food into your mouth...Choose a future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that?
I like when they do polls like that on ABC (Monday Night football), they give you a lot of time to respond. Usually they do it on challenges and stuff like that. Also, they show how many people have voted. I think they also do it on Sunday Night football, which would make sense, since ESPN and ABC are owned by the same company. But they usually get well over 100,000 votes. I think those ones on Fox actually might have only gotten 2 votes.

I voted in three of the polls, but this is the first time all season I've had the games on while I've been at my computer*. Yeah, they hardly gave ANY time at all to vote, and a couple times I thought "wow, I'M that 50%!" But I think the wireless phone people can vote A LOT quicker...not that I'm sure how many of THEM there are...
I don't understand online voting during a game. How many people actually have their PC in the same room as their TV? I don't. And secondly, why would I want to turn my attention to the PC to vote and not focus on watching game? It's silly, really!

If they were getting 100,000 votes on a Sunday Night or Monday Night game then I think a playoff game would get just as many votes if not more. THe fans aren't going to not vote just because this game was on a different channel or their graphics aren't as pretty.

THAT IS AWESOME!
I didn't say anything about that. I just meant because of the very short amount of time, who knows how many people got to vote?

Just for the record I did vote for one. The question was "Do you think the Rams will come back?" (because the Eagles where winning). I said "No" and they did come back and beat my Eagles.
I have done the Monday Night Football Enhanced TV a few times. My TV and one of my PCs are in teh same room and it was pretty cool. They have kind of a QB1 thing going on there. But after the 1st half, I was kind of getting tired. The thing is on Enhanced TV there is ALWAYS something going on. Whether it be the QB1 deal, a trivia question, "fun facts", images from the game, insight from the experts, etc. So it does kind of get tedious when you are trying to watch a game.

Personally speaking, I have a TV in the room with my computer, and I'm often online when I'm watching football... I use the TV more like a watchable radio (watch it when something good might happen). However, I don't vote in the online polls because the questions are often a waste (at least according to me). Not to mention you have to sit on the FOX site to even get the polls, which I'm not doing.
