Sorry if it was mentioned here and I missed it...but didn't they say Triple H was on his way to the arena? It did seem like the show kind of ended early, and the end seemed a little slow and disjointed. Did they decide at the last minute that he couldn't go on? Was he even there? Is he dead? LoL, Sorry I'm just really confused.
Rarely do they say somebody is "on their way", and then end the show a good 5-10 minutes early without a mention of them....
My guess is that HHH probably wanted to pull the 'superhuman guy dedicated to his company' routine that he always does (I mean, c'mon peeps - it takes balls to have fought through not only a torn quad, but now a fucked up throat, too), but realized that he just couldn't pull it off. It gave JR a chance to hype the injury, too, though they never did state that it was RVD's frog splash that caused the injury.
Best bet? HHH comes out and wrecks the holy living shit out of both RVD and HBK next Monday.
I thought the fact that HHH did not show up was the best part of the show.

Well, we did get our RNN update on the PPV. I am concerned just like the rest of you, but I doubt Randy's condition changed much overnight. But then again, chafing attacks suddenly. Maybe I should e-mail him and see how he is?

I could have sworn that they stated that RVD caused the injury in the opening segment, either HBK or Bish said something about him injuring HHH.

I don't remember if they said it during the opening segment but I know I heard JR say something during the main event about RVD believing he should be the #1 contender because he thought he was the one who injured HHH.
I'll be the first to call the finish of the RVD/Shawn match: HHH returns and nails van Dam, because he "wants to be the one to beat Shawn's crippled ass for his belt". You heard it here first.

Nice try, but I'm not a HHHater turned hypocrite. I would like to know what happened to him, regardless of everybody else's pure hatred for the man.

Let him stay off TV a long LONG time. Besides, if he comes back it'll eventually come down to HHH-BPP and there aren't enough 'roids in the WWE for that bout.

If that was what the other guy was talking about, it's still kind of an iffy statement by him. I'm not getting mad at you or anything, because obviously there's no reason to, but when he made that comment about no-selling a crushed throat, I thought that was kind of asinine.

There's nothing wrong with doing an interview after his injury happened. They didn't say he was totally mute, so it's not like he "broke kayfabe" or some crap by talking. It was a real injury, guys. By saying he's "feeling better" isn't no selling, it's telling us that he's feeling better.
FurryHippie, you're right. I'm just glad it wasn't serious. He's been put in some crappy angles this last year, I'll give you that. They were excruciating, annoying, and hard to take seriously. Then, I remember what he can do in a good angle (like with Austin), and my opinion of him stays the same. After the year we had, and the things we seen, I figure, what the hell? IF I like a guy you hate, then I'll do it for the good reasons. I like the fact that for the second time in his career, he risked something serious by finishing the match. That's a pleasant memory for me to end the year on. Oh, as far as those guys teasing HHH being on his way to RAW, my mom said it best when she said, "You don't dangle a carrot in front of a rabbit, then give him chocolate".
