What happened to the Christian/Goldust match we were supposed to get tonight? Was it bumped to Heat? JR said something tonight about next week being HBK's first time wrestling on RAW since October 1997. He then later amended his comment to being the first time he wrestled live on RAW since then. Now, Scott Keith mentioned in his rant that HBK defended the Euro Title against HHH 12/22/97 and faced Owen 12/29/97 the next week. Is it possible that the Owen match was taped? The HHH match would have been live then but since all HBK did was a glorified fingerpoke of doom, it hardly counts as wrestling. I remmber that they used to do RAW live on week and taped the next back then. Thus JR could've been technically correct saying his line about HBK wrestling live. As for notVal and his attention to dteail and his new job--Are we going to see Sean Morley, artichect-for-hire? Or what I'm personally hoping for, Sean Morley, Chartered Accountant--like the Enron or Worldcom accountants. He could claim WWE is doing "great" financially in one of those classic worked shoot promos.
Thumbs up to RAW from me, too. HBK won me over with his "No, it offends me as a wrestling fan!" comment. You're ok by me, Shawn.
Main event was good stuff. I could get used to this.
I hate to be happy someone got hurt, but man it's nice to not have Triple H around.
Steiner on the mic is hilarious. I have no problem with him doing a program with Jericho. They're both entertaining, and together, they should be good.
And YEAH, Victoria's finisher was cool. Anyone know what it's called? It was like a Gory special, dropped straight down, or something.
I tuned in late, saw a replay of the Batista powerbomb on Kane (nice looking) and the main event. I didn't really get into it. It was kind of sloppy and involved a lot of the gratuitous lying around that three-ways tend to have, and just didn't seem to have much of a flow, or really creative spots to cover for it. I dunno. Seeing Steiner was cool, the belly to belly suplex was nice, but the powerbomb was sort of Nash-drop style.
I've really been enjoying Jericho the character recently, not so much his matches.

COHERANT?! Are we talking about SCOTT STEINER?!
"See Nash, you can wear any Halloween costume you want to, but you know and I know that you're only half the man that I am - and I have half the brain that you do."
Raw was pretty good. i think it had a steady build throughout the night and it got better as the night went on
-Michaels interview- I thought Michaels would forfeit the title right there (which would p me off). Fans bite and seemed pissed not really a 'don't go booo' but a 'you're going to leave again you little prick booo'(lol). RVD came out (this could be an interesting match) DeadCowWalking came out to allow Michaels to get a internet pop.
-3Dudleyz v. 3Minutes- I'm thinking 3Minutes = Public Enemy for a while. Maybe even a lamer version. Dudleyz got new music, the new one is good but there old one is good as well. Can't you save it for someone with real awful music. I guess D-von part of the trade, when will the future considerations stop (Steph should have read the fine print). Match was blah but last night 5 out of the 6 guys put on a real show so I won't hold it against them. The fans seem to atleast care about D-von now but what about Simmons? Damn!
-Stacy inring- You know what's really scary I'm sure that there are actual wrestling fans that would buy these T-shirts and wear them in public. I find that very disturbing ( I apologize if you are one of them..lol). Stacy was adorable (how was she micked?) The 2nd T-shirt "Be a Testicle... Take a Test Drive" bombed.(lol)... I am really digging Victoria's character. I think she plays it really well, biting the nail off (ouch).
-Regal/Storm v. Jeff Hardy/Dreamer- It's really strange I'm a fan of Regal/ Storm personally but I just don't give a rats ass about them at all as characters. Well Jeff kept throwing himself around like a rag doll. What the hell was the finish. on HEat last night it looked like Regal punched a guy in the neck (I guess he had the brass knucks). Tonight it looked like he kicked him and Storm rolled pinned him half a minute later. Talk about lame... Dreamer drop toe-hold on the chair was great looking atleast at the post match beat down.
-Steiner interview- Wow did Steiner shoot his whole load of catchphrases tonight. I'm still more interested in the 2 faces that were in the main event then I am of this guy... Jericho came out. I thought he was really going to rip on him but he didn't. But he did say he couldn't understand what he is mumbling about. That was okay. I was just expecting more... Ha king asked "how do you get arms that big". Do you really have to ask King?
-Victoria v. Stacy-Stacy comes out first, Lilian no sells her. I dig Stacy's roundhouse kick. Victoria really is the female innovator of offense. Few weeks ago she did an ridiculously complicated backbreaker that started as a fireman carry and ended in a backbreaker on Trish. This week she pulls of a real snazzy looking finisher. Trish runs in with her cute white T-shirt. Get her shots in until Stevie came out and delivered a amazing double-underhook DDT which he lifted the little bumping machine WAY up in the air and she dropped face first with no bracing... Stevie's now with Victoria? I guess he likes chicks who hate Trish. I thought they were setting up Vicki/Stevie v. TEst/Stacy but with the Trish run in I guess that feud isn't over yet. I guess we can do Trish/Stacy v. Vicki/ Molly or Ivory. There's few possibilities you can go with this for the next week or two.
-Nowinski v. Dreamer- I adore Nowinski, have since day 1. Coming in the a backpack was just too much and had me smiling. Calling Maven a teachers pet, classic. The match was violent. Busted Nowinski really bad. Amazing looking finish. Total thumbs up for that match.
-Fliar v. Kane- Commentators made a big deal about Flair wearing steet clothes (hey so did Nowinski no biggie). Flair's going to get big brother H to fight his battles (oh poor Flair). Batista came in and cleaned house. I am slowly taking a liking to Batista.
-RVD v. Y2J v. Booker T- I give major props to these guys especially Jericho after the match they had last night. Jericho really seemed to be going on fumes sometimes like he was spent. Jericho 5 star was amazing also his running bulldog outside on RVD. Funny how RVD got heel reaction when mocking BT. But the fans were really behind RVD in that match. RVD doing a backflip from the apron to the floor and landing on his feet was impressive as well Jericho's lionsault but landing on his feet. Vicious spinbuster on Jericho by Booker. Of course no surprise Steiner run in and cleaned Jericho's clock. RVD hits a 5 star I really thought Booker T could have come in he was stalling on the apron forever but oh well. Great effort by the 3 guys involved.
other stuff - nothing much happened away from the ring at all. Just Val Venis who looked really thin in my eyes. sigh no RNN run in, I've been looking forward to those he better have a kick ass excuse next week. Maybe I'll send him an email and ask him why he no showed =)
Line of the night: Nowinski "Looks like the teachers pet isn't in school today".

The Owen match was live, the HHH match was taped. They taped a few weeks of RAW following IYH:DX, as opposed to the usual 2 due to the upcoming Christmas holidays. HBK had to step in for Hunter due to an injury suffered at a house show the day prior. Cross reference the results page below, looking at the Lowell taping in December.
Oh, well, I guess I'll be the 1st to say it: didn't much care for Raw. No HHH is good, but overall the show felt flat to me.
--HBK on the mic - boring. At least he was better than Steiner, but not by much. After the 1st "Neeewwwwwww", that got quite irritating.
--6 man tag - slow & plodding. Dudleyz back doing the same stale stuff they did before. But they haven't been together since the split, so I guess that makes it FRESH~! Blah, whatever.
--Stacy in the ring - looks great, but thank goodness for Stevie & Victoria
--Jeff/Dreamer vs. Storm/Regal - bad, bad, bad. And I like 3/4 of these guys
--Steiner on the mic - Scott's still death on the mic. Thank goodness for Jericho
--Victoria/Stacy - hey, that's a cool looking finisher. More Stevie & a Trish run-in = good.
--Nowinski/Dreamer - I liked this match. You just knew the Hamlet thing was coming when he ripped the skull off the skeleton. Pretty entertaining, but I thought we weren't having any more hardcore matches on Raw?
--Flair/Kane - I like Bautista so far. Squashing Kane = good times
--3-way ME - disjointed and sloppy. No way it earned the ***1/2 it got from Keith. Oh, and we get to feed Jericho to Steiner? Joy.
I will say 1 good thing about Raw - at least Hurricane didn't get squashed by Test again.
Thumbs down.
Matthew: You would've loved it, David. A week in a foreign country, strange people, strange customs... Dave: Oh, I know what you mean. I've been to Canada.

They accomplished a lot with this show, they created new feuds/storylines, progressed current ones, they set up a DREAM match for next week, HBK vs RVD, and had a real good main event, by the best guys on the show...that's what they should do. It makes you interested, and wanting to tune in.
Hell, even the women's division looks better, thanks to that AWESOME finisher by Victoria.
Now, how long can they keep this up, and can we be lucky enough not to have HHH on our TV's for an extended time?
If HHH HAS to be on air, how about his rehab? I sense a My Sacrifice video being made at this moment on his water-spitting therapy...
Nice timing for Trips injury, he doesn't have to go on the RAW plane ride to India. Remember what happened the last time the RAW crew took a trip outside North America. Oh well, Trip gets to take some time off around the holidays and build up the 'hometown hero return' at Rumble in Boston. This Shawn/Trip angle is really starting to follow the pattern of Shawn/Sid late '96/early '97. If Shawn said NEEWWW World Champion one more time, I was going to start throwing objects at the TV. Hopefully, they are leading to a Jeff Hardy takes time off for 'personal' reasons angle. Main event was good, nice as always to see one man destroy both tag champs, but Steiner probably will be in traction by Thanksgiving, so it doesn't really matter.
I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.
I liked the return of the real Dudleys, how it was meant to be. I liked Scott Steiner and Jericho. Main event was very good. It was the match of the three guys who used to be held back by Triple H. At least one of them got the win. I like the set-up for HBK vs. RVD. The showstopper vs. the whole f'n show. Once they teased it at the beginning, I knew they'd have to go through with it.
Bad Everything else. I like HBK, but he shouldn't be on the mike for over 5 minutes, bring back the "get to the point" guy. Dreamer, Victoria, Snow matches all were filler. At the house shows, the T-shirt giveaways are filler. On a tv show they are worse. Unless they can send a shirt through my tv screen and into my living room, I don't care.
Good show overall, better if it was taped so I could fast foward through the filler.
I was simply in gape mouthed shock that they actually managed to link two week's worth of shows together and go from Flair meeting with Batista in the hallway to Batista running in on Flair's match
Suppose Ric's got someone new to manage already
It's like WWE dangling a shiny gold coin in one hand while giving you an enema with the other, which I'm assuming is quite hard to do, but WWE is pulling it off - SKLOKAZOID

the judges will be Dusty Rhodes, Mongo McMichael, and themonsterMENG
Wrestling has been rhyming with ass. I miss shows and it makes me all shades of ambivalence. WWE is starting to suck again. The crops? Jeezum Spice! Someone stole my crops. What in the ham fat is going on. That's just poo-doo! That's just my 2.4856 Yen.

I'd probably have to give the idiocy advantage to the Dingbat Warrior, as while Steiner is a roided up lunatic, Dingbat also possesses these qualities. However, Warrior has also tried to invent his own language, and foster a belief system based upon himself. That, and when Steiner is a way, we don't hear from him. When Dingbat is away, he becomes the new Unibomber.
I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.
I thought RAW was okay considering most of those people went through serious beatings last night. I do have to admit, Shawn's comment about what happened last month really had me in agreement. I don't know about YOU guys, but I could get used to Scott Steiner's promos again, he just cracks me up. Nirvana?! Having had bronchitis when I was a child, I can understand the difficulty to take a simple breath, so I proudly accept all flaming when I say that saying it was great because HHH was not on last night is a tad immature. Most of what he did in the last few months he wasn't too pleased with, especially his angles (mainly because of Vince and his writers, and there IS proof), so I think that those comments some of you made are not cool. I shudder to think what you would say if he suffocated or something...

Warrior's insanity FAR outweighs the insanity of Steiner. No question.

The main event was the best one in weeks. Thats the first time in a while that a high-end match on Raw was comparable in quality to a high-end Smackdown match. I'm not necessarily for no HHH on Raw, but I think they have overexposed him to the point that everyone needs a break from him. That and his matches suck. All the talk of Stevie and Jazz, reminds me of when Stevie wore the "I miss you sweet thang" shirt. And that ruled.
It's like a koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain!
That was a pretty vicious looking finisher from Victoria. The psycho-angle is working so-so for her, but this is something they should have done with Jackie Gayda I think. Victoria has more of the straight-up monster heel look to her, but a psycho monster heel is at least original. She just needs to bust out with more craziness a la Kevin Sullivan.
And does Steven Richards have it in his contact that he has to be teamed up with every monster heel female in the WWE?
One more question: Where has Molly been? Is she on the injured list or is she taking that vacation she wanted earlier in the year?
Agreed on the fact that the womens division needs another jobber besides Stacey. Bring back Linda Miles.

-I'd like to add that Victoria's finisher (Victory Bomb?) is friggin swank. -Finally someone is using the Double Arm DDT..it's not like Mick was going to use it anymore. I was hoping Benoit would pick it up as a standing finisher but hey... -Did anyone know that HHH was gone? -Did anyone care? -Seriously, it's not that i'm a HHHater, but c'mon that was too much. (Ross must have said his name 20 times in the first half an hour) -No more Val Venis? Good. That gimmick died, like, 4 years ago. -The thrill has died. I liked 3 Minutes when they fucked with bad segments. Now they bore the shit out of me. -Any of this stuff i just said..i could change my mind in a couple of weeks. It happens

Molly either worked a dark match or Heat. Reason why you couldn't run this angle with Jackie Gayda, is well, what's the word I'm looking for, oh yeah, SHE SUCKED. Please lets not even give anyone in the WWF/E any bad ideas about placing Gayda on TV again. She should just go play with Buff Bagwell and have a contest over who had the worst living segment in RAW history.

Steve Austin was percieved as a flawed, beer-swilling, cussing redneck who stood up for the little guy...until he left. The Rock is a megalomanical, egotistical braggart...but dammit, he's FUN, too. And HE stands up for the little guy.
