I'm certainly going to give it a whirl, but for the most part the series lost me after 2. I didn't know what the hell was going on after that awesome game.
Treasure Planet kicked all kinds of ass. Do yourself a favor and check it out when it comes to a theater near you.
I have mine on reserve at Software Etc and it should be in today. I had MK Trilogy (i think that was the version) on the PS1 and hated it. But I am an MK mark so I'll be buying the new one. My favorite has always been the original though. Nothing could ever beat Sub Zero ripping out someone's spine. I'll have to flip between this and RAW tonight.
Wow, I thought the MK franchise was dead years ago. I never thought it was all that, especially compared to the faster and deeper Street Fighter games.
I always found MK interesting. Not the best fighting game ever (that is Street Fighter Alpha 3 IMO.), but fun for what it is. Kind of like Bloody Roar. Never going to win a medal or anything, but still fun to play. I'm hoping they can pull off a good game. MK really hasn't been great since MK2.

I'll give it a rent.
GET OVER HERE!
HEATHEN! Capcom Vs. SNK 2 is the greatest fighter ever!
Damn! Damn! I can't take this! Of course I will get Mortal Kombat. I have all 4 soundtracks still! It's not right with MK:DA, Metroid Prime, Splinter Cell, and X Box: Live to come out the same week. My wife is going to kill me if she sees our Credit Card bill. BYW, is anyone planning on getting Legends of Wrestling 2 next week? I know, I know, the first one is still collecting dust on my shelf too, but I do want to see how Scott Stiener is in the game.
Faust:the whole damn IWC needs to take themselves less seriously - and more importantly - take wrestling less seriously. Swordsman Yen:How's this for taking wrestling less seriously? *click*
I picked up MK:DA last night. I was only able to play for a little over an hour, so I'm not qualified to write a whole review, but so far the game is OK. I mean, it's mortal kombat, so if you like that series you'll probably like this game, and if you hate the series you probably won't like this one either.
Anyway, one cool feature is that your character has 3 figting styles, one of which is a weapon style. even scorpion gets a sword.
many old characters return and there are a couple new ones as well. I don't remember all the guys from the first game but johnny cage, scorpion, sub zero, kano, and sonya are in this one. Sonya, it appears, has picked up some 'augmentation'. My coworker was looking at the pictures in my strategy guide this morning, saw her, pointed to some new features and said "that's not the sonya I remember".
I'm still in the middle of FFX so I don't know how much time I'll be putting in with MK, but so far it's been pretty fun since I haven't played an MK game in about 4-5 years.

I don't think dissing Tekken is necessary, ESPECIALLY when on a thread that discusses a game with an engine like MK. Tekken can be a little button-mashy (I'm looking in your direction you fucking Eddy Gordo playing fucks), but the engine goes MUCH deeper than any MK game or any non Soul Calibur or Virtua Fighter. Though the moves in Tekken are cooler than the moves of VF (King gets the Mexican Bomb, Muscle Buster, Stunner, People's Elbow, Screwdriver, Ghetto Blaster, Boomerang Kick, Konvict Kick and a slew of others. Wolf gets about 1/2 that)

Don't forget his Shining Wizard, Rock Bottom, Dragon Screw to Figure 4, and the ever so popular "nether-region headbutt".

Very well...I will lay off Tekken. Though no matter how many wreslting holds they given 'em, still don't like it.
Stupid Blockbuster! Didn't have any copies of MK in! I will take out my frustration in GTA!
I've lost track of all of Atlus's quirky RPG releases for the DS, but I think Etrian Odyssey is the one where you draw your own maps in a dungeon crawler game. and if I had money I would own Ouendan 2 right now dammit.
