I would like to know what happens at house shows. I haven't been to one in 5 years and would like to know if there is some type of titantron, pyro, etc... Or do the wrestlers just come out to their music? Thanks.

the only pyro I've heard about is Kane's ringpost ones, but there is no titantron and no other pyros, wrestlers just come out to their music

I went to one a week ago and we just got the music and Kane and Booker's pyro. On the other hand, we got to see a lot of funny stuff you wouldn't on regular TV, like Victor/Victoria having a fit after attacking Trish and HHH telling one guy to "put your teeth in before you talk to me!" And, of course there was the godly Oompa-Loompa song.

Triple H is a dead ringer for "Buzzer" of the Dreadnoks. Just give him some mirror shades and teach him to say "Blimey, Zartan".

And pray you get the smackdown roster. If Angle is ever let anywhere near a microphone, comedy of course ensues. The last two times we've gotten a house show this year Angle has made it worth the price of admission alone.

Treasure Planet kicked all kinds of ass. Do yourself a favor and check it out when it comes to a theater near you.

The recent one in Calgary they came out down the hockey team entrance and at my angle you could see them getting ready to enter and then leaving. Leaving was funny because they'd limp or stagger out if they lost, but miraculously recover after they got past the entranceway.

House shows haven't changed much since my first one in 1987. You get a ring, a runway that is nothing more than a gated off area of the floor, and intro's played over the house PA. The only thing I've seen added since is a very small four-bar lighting rig (the house shows of the '80's typically used nothing but house lights designed for boxing, normally mounted on the bottom of scoreboards. I've heard stories of mini pyro displays, but our arena bans pyro.

But house shows have a life that television doesn't. The TV cameras aren't on so everybody can loosen up a bit. You still get solid action, but you get to see some great stuff they don't show on TV. It's a lot lighter, and a lot of fun. I highly recommend them.

Reminds me of an anecdote from the one house show I've ever been to.. October 1995 in Prince George, British Columbia, about a week after the IYH from Winnipeg. Razor Ramon defending the IC title against The British Bulldog in the final match. The Main event was before the intermission. Diesel defending the World Title against Yokozuna in a lumberjack match. The announcers were right. Everyone looks bigger in person. Anyway, back to the point. As Bulldog was the heel, he grabbed the mic to insult the crowd. He said "I HATE Prince Albert!" Since we were in Prince George, his attempts to get over as a heel failed miserably and he was instead figuratively laughed out of the building.

House shows are pretty cool. For one, there usually aren't nearly as many signs, so you're not impatiently waiting for the asshole in front of you to put down his "MIKE RULZ" sign so you can see the damn match. And you can usually get better seats at lower prices.

Actually, there is a house show coming to my local arena soon, but gagh, it's the RAW brand. As much as I've been itching to see some live wrestling (been a year and a half), I'm not sure it's worth it.

Unfortunately I'm seeing the Raw brand. At least I'll see Jericho who I haven't seen close up. I saw him at Wrestlemania X7 but in the nosebleed section. I've seen pretty much everyone else on Raw up close at a show in Austin first row (Tripple H and Angle cage match) and this'll be my little brothers first in person experience. I have second row for the house show and my brother thinks RVD is a god.

If you are any kind of fan you will go see the house show, Ana Ng. If you are posting on here as a fan, you obviously have put some hours into watching the sport. Go support the WWE through the lean times. See true class acts like Tommy Dreamer, Booker, Goldust, and Jericho.

True. If I lived anywhere close to where house shows are run, I'd go to them too. Unfortunately, Prince George is 8 hours away from me and they haven't been there since 1996 or so. If I lived in Vancouver, however, I'd be at every house show that came through (which admittedly, wouldn't be many).

I stopped short of that...pic. I saw the towel and said that's enough, I'm not looking. So much for the referrals too. One.
