My second favorite stupid tidbit: The reason the siren in BPP's entrance music sounds kind of off is because it's in 7/4 time. I can't think of any other wrestler's entrance music that isn't in 4/4.

(So what you're saying is although his music is 4/4, the siren's in 7/4?)
No, the siren is in 7/4 and the beat is following the siren. So the whole thing is in 7/4.
I don't know if it still is, I wasn't paying attention to it completely the other night. It definitely isn't the same thing he was using as an entrance in WCW, they souped it up a bit.
They gotta bring these back!!!: "talk to the hand because the man don't understand." - "The Crippler" Chris Benoit "...and that is the LAST WORD." - "The Big Nasty" Paul Wight and of course: "Don't hate the playa...HATE THE GAME~!" - WCW World Champion Booker T
4/4 means four quarter notes per measure, so you can count along with the song: 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4. Most popular music these days is in 4/4.
7/4 means seven quarter notes per measure, so if you were counting along, it'd go: 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3. If you're used to 4/4, it would sound like it was dropping one beat every other measure.
I haven't noticed that about BPP's theme, but now I'm all excited!
What WWE needs is more 6/8 music--besides Chris Harvard's theme, of course. Considering how slow Big Show is sometimes, his music could be in 3/4. I played saxophone in band for 6 years--nice to see I've retained something. :)

The only thing I retained from band is a fierce hatred of memories of attempting anything outside 4/4, 3/4, and 6/8 (if I was concentrating)
Those damn sirens are REALLY annoying. Hopefully they tweak the theme to move them to the background.
Faust:the whole damn IWC needs to take themselves less seriously - and more importantly - take wrestling less seriously. Swordsman Yen:How's this for taking wrestling less seriously? *click*
Or the intro to "Spoonman" from soundgarden. I can't think of any others offhand.

I *like* the sirens..totally adds to the freak Steiner idea. I saw Steiner's entrance once, in Germany and with a whole lotta flashlights and cop like lights I thought it was an amazing entrance..
No way. I listened to it too. Becuase it's a really basic beat (thump THUMP thump THUMP) it could be in any time, which most people subconciously hear as 4/4 becuase it's so common. But start counting the beats between the sirens and it's 7 beats, start over. Since the siren and the beat were the only things in the old intro, that's definitely 7/4. Now that there's other stuff in the intro, maybe they've switched it, but I don't think so.

I would like to formally interrupt this musical thread to state that Scott Steiner is a broken-down clod who can't string two coherent sentences together, and I'm sad he's coming in. I hope he just jobs to Triple H and leaves.
Who pissed in your cornflakes? Oh, wait. It was me. My apologies.
From the other point of view. You are there to announce your big event, you are there to announce that you are bringing one of the biggest spectacles in the world of sport and entertainment to a city. Is that the time to ask 'do you know its fake?
