I hear DEAN's gonna be late with his Workrate report. He's busy this Halloween.

Big Show's first run in with Brock was quite blah.

His main-event run in was great. Mysterio being tossed into the crowd?!?!? I tried to watch the tape in slow-mo to see if there were security guys or plants of some sort in the crowd to catch Rey-Rey. It was a cool spot I wouldn't have expected to see in the WWE with all of the possible liability concerns.

The whole rumble between the two was quite cool in my estimation. A good big man vs. bigger man brawl. Came off quite well in my opinion. Show can really man handle Brock and when Brock finally F5's him, it's gonna bring the house down.

I actually thought Angle/Eddy was a little rough at times. It was all made up for though by Eddy's absolutley WICKED top rope somersault into a tornado DDT.

Torrie was only the third hottest female on the show tonight.

Steph and Policewoman Dawn Marie were looking absolutely scrumptious.

I love Smackdown.

Matches, all excellent, except for Show/Rikishi, and even that served its purpose (Obviously, Torrie/Dawn Marie doesn't even count as a match). The Halloween Party and all it entailed, despite being early-90's style, was funny, especially Vanilla I-Cena. But the best part for me was seeing my former roommate, who used to give me endless shit for watching wrestling, sitting in the front row and marking out for Tajiri's kicks on V1.0.

Oh, and MarketingMajor, Torrie was the fourth hottest female on the show tonight, at least in my view. Even in her Jamie Noble costume, Nidia looked far finer. (What that says about me, I'm not sure. Nor am I sure I want to find out.)

I gathered that that was Nidia, but that was only because Noble was there dressed as Nidia. I, personally, agree that Torrie came in a DISTANT third tonight. I know Dawn has been DEAN's pet project (that came out wrong) over the past few weeks, but after tonight, I fear for DEAN's hand muscles. Steph was INSANELY hot tonight. Right now, somewhere far from here, Eric Bischoff STILL hasn't washed his lips.

That came out wrong, too, didn't it?

Why do I watch? Because every episode has the potential to be the best one ever, and I'll be DAMNED if I'm gonna miss that one after sitting through this shit.

Anyone get the implication that Heyman was gonna jump ship from Brock to The Big Show? They seemed to emphasis the word "advised" when TBS said "I've been ADVISED to not hurt you" or whatever. Heyman to cost Brock the title? Or at least try?

I don't think Heyman will actually turn but I think they're just planting that seed to get people to think that Big Show actually has a chance of winning.

They say everybody has a place in this world, and so does Stephanie. It's in that dress. Other ladies...Dawn's cop getup for some reason had me thinking "Vilage People". Cole was dead-on when he called Torrie a "dominatrix Heidi". I was thinking Swiss Miss Cocoa girl in leather.

Cena was priceless. What else can you say. Gold.

Big Show to me is just not believeable against Brock. Even the half-interested watching with me could list off jobbers Big Show has fallen to. I think this is being booked as good as a Brock/Show feud could be, but they're standing there facing off in the ring, and all I see is a buffed out beast looking up at Fat Bastard.

On the other hand, Angle/Benoit/Eddie/Chavo DOES work for me, and you too. So who the heck cares. The mark-out of the night at my viewing was Angle pulling the mask off of Brother Love. Everybody freaked.

Another stellar effort.

As long as we get through this Big Show push without them feeding Angle, Benoit, Eddy, or Edge to him, I'll be happy.

Heyman could've gotten Big Show over if this was Big Show's first day in the company but I agree with previous posters, there's just been too much damage done over the past couple years.

Ya know what?

They've kinda got me going on Show. (This is where Guru laughs at me.) Heyman basically sold Brock off as being nothing but power, and he really can't power around Show. I think the "you can't beat him" shit was a little overdone, but I can forgive it. Show's acting and mic work was terrible- still, I'm more interested in him and this upcoming match right now than I have been since he debuted throwing Austin around.

I was thinking the same thing when he said he was "advised" not to hurt Lesnar.

The rest of the show was great. I enjoyed the matches. I enjoyed the stuff outside the ring. But, the Big Show stuff was like the anchor to bring the show to a halt. His promo dragged on forever. The Paul Heyman speech to Brock in the locker room makes no sense. How are we supposed to buy this "Brock can't beat Big Show" stuff when Big Show was jobbing to Jeff Hardy and getting beat regularly by Booker T in the past few months? The chokeslam on the table looked bad because Big Show lost his grip. And, Michael Cole was in full Tony Schiavone mode with the overhyping of the Big Show-Lesnar stuff.

Here's Michael Cole trying to beat the storyline into our heads during the main event.

Cole: Will Lesnar be able to manhandle the Big Show?

Tazz: He can't manhandle the Big Show, Cole. Show is just too big.

Cole: Look at how Brock is just throwing Mysterio around. It brings up the question of whether he'll be able to manhandle the Big Show like that.

Tazz: (shaking his head and wanting to smack Cole upside the head) Cole, he CAN'T. Mysterio is 175 pounds. Big Show is over 500 pounds.

Later, after Big Show interferes

Cole: Look at how the Big Show is manhandling the champion. Is the Big Show unstoppable?

Anyone that has followed WWE over the last month: No, he was losing to Jeff Hardy a few weeks ago.

I thought that Heyman might join SHow when they were emphasizing "advised" also making Lesnar a face. However, we all know that Lesnar vs. Angle is looming on the horizon, with one of them having to turn face before then. And with this whole Eddy/Angle/Benoit triangle, Angle seems to be the one that will come out of it as a face because the fans just hate Eddy and Benoit so much. So I think Lesnar will stay heel against an eventual face Angle.

I wonder if they actually caught the irony of having Cena dressed as Vanilla Ice on a show that aired on Ice's birthday.

Awesome, awesome Smackdown that will unfortunately take a beating in the ratings this week. Hey, think about it. Your younger audience is out trick or treating and your older demo is probably out at a Halloween party or out supervising their trick or treaters. It's a case of bad timing.

GOOD:
-Edge/Benoit: The best Smackdown opener in a LONG time and that's saying A LOT! A feud with Benoit can only serve to turn Edge into a world class wrestler and will get him ready to carry main events in the future. All positive signs.

-Angle/Eddie: Another match full of AWESOME! I'm so spoiled by these guys.

-The Halloween Party: This was one of those campy skits that just worked on all levels. Eddie as Zorro, Angle as the Scream guy, Cena as Vanilla Ice, and Heterosexual Chuck as one of the Village People (oh, the irony) was nothing short of hilarious. And let's not forget Matt Hardy, Version 1 injecting the party with MATTITUDE! And his verbal cracks even made Moolah and Mae Young (Versions BC) entertaining.

-The Backstage Fight: Angle and Benoit are just too much. Even the backstage chaos was nothing short of KICK ASS!

-Matt Hardy, Version One/Tajiri: Another good match and it could easily be the best match on Raw. But on Smackdown, it has a lot of tough acts to follow. Tajiri's kicks were stiff as hell and they made the match even better. Let's hope this is the beginning of a long winning streak for MATTITUDE~!

-Brock/Mysterio: This is the type of match that should be built up over the course of weeks. This was a fun big/little match and Paul Heyman knows how to book them. I still have fond memories of Spike/Bam Bam. Heyman has what it takes and can really build Rey as a Giant Killer, unlike WCW's half-ass attempts in '99.

There's only one...

BAD:
-Anything Involving Big Show: It's amazing how anything this fat ass touches turns to shit. And yet HE'S the one who's main eventing at Survivor Series. His match with Rikishi, his post-match interview, and his run-in on the Brock/Mysterio match were NOT awesome. But at least they weren't enough to Raw up this week's Smackdown.

GOOD, GOOD show! But if WWE puts on a kick ass show and nobody attends, does it really exist? I mean, JEEZ that arena was empty! I'd hate to think that fans are getting totally turned off by Raw and taking out their frustrations on Smackdown, because that would be such a shame.

I'm still being rewarded for likeing Smackdown! when most of the net only cared about Raw. The Eric Bichoff, Stephinie McMahon thing is great, but they need to build it slowly. If you remember, the Angle Triple H fead that the women(and I) liked was built over the course of months as Kurt Angle climbed the card from a euro level who was useful to Triple H andTriple H had better things to deal with to a King of the Ring winner who'd lost to The Undertaker and was going for the world title. and was part of a five man faction with Stephinie's brother(the other four being, The Big Show, Edge, Christian, and Shane McMahon). And I like the big show, and liked all of the segments with him.( By the way, Rey Mysterio Jr., who should be jobbing in the opening match to Mark henry, in this circumstance, perhaps, has joined Matt and Jeff Hardy in the two people with two and/or 2 televised wins over Brock Lesnear club.(2 wins via DQ, or the Hardy Boyz win over BL and Planet Staisak via pinning Planet Staisak at Insurection X 2002) Would you reallywant that match given away on free TV when it couldbe a Pay Per View main event?

Random Smackdown Thoughts:

Benoit-Edge was a great opener.

I think John Cena is headed to Raw.

"Matt got more Halloween candy than his brother." Another hilarious fact.

Angle-Eddie ruled. Whether we like it or not, it looks like Angle's turning face.

Love the brawl between Angle and Benoit at the Halloween party.

Main event was alright. That promo Big Show cut earlier was awful.

Overall, another very good Smackdown.
