CRZ announces at slashwrestling that the site will be going on 'indefinite hiatus' and that he'll explain in his RAW recap (not yet posted). Holy S__t! This could be earthshaking, viz the wrestling terra firma. Anyone have an inside track and want to share? 'Hiatus' I could see building up over the last few months; 'indefinite' worries me.
Maybe just to put the RSPW '02 awards together? (hope, hope)
M. Cole: Oh no, what's Angle going to do with that chair. Tazz: Well, I think he wants to, you know, HIT HIM with it.

Well, if this board has taught me anything in life, it's that it's never too early to start panicking.
I don't know the IWC as well as many on this board, but I'll start:
Those who were driven mad by the rise of the monopoly: e.g. Shannon, Botter.
De Facto 'Sabbaticals':
Those who instantly became irrelevant with less to write about/springboard from: Most would say Scaia.
Those who are doing more and more writing about anything BUT pro wrestling: SKeith, Hyatte, Eric S.

As long as the board stays, all will be well. I'm sure there's a large can of "Burnout" lying around somewhere. I know I personally wouldn't be able to juggle work, life, and web site like our fearless CRZ has over the years.

Personally I am finding boards like this a lot more informative than sites like slash (sorry!) and 411. 411 tends to talk about everything BUT wrestling, and everything on slash seems to get repetitive (even the few things I wrote) after a while... if something starts to get boring on a thread... it goes away. Nice system! Plus, if you want to read about, I don't know, WRESTLING, you can go to the wrestling forum, instead of wading through a long, cumbersome column that might have 2 or three wrestling-related lines in it, written by people with an over-exaggerated sense of self importance. Have fun CRZ! Just keep Weinerville up please!
I sometimes wonder if the wrestling world would be better off if the WWF/E would just die off. Maybe what wrestling needs is some "downtime" and then a new national promotion will rise from the ashes.
I will agree that the WWE is way to big... I mean, to me, wrestling would be perfect with ONE once a week show and maybe the big 5 PPVS a year, and that is it...
Just remember CRZ, marriage is an institution. Unfortunately, unlike a good institution, you don't get a nice white jacket and the nifty crash helmet. Besides that, good luck.
I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

From what I see, I think that's his general idea. I've noted some renovations going on in Wienerville:
1) All the Slash contributors now have a new title in Wienerville - Contributor - with their names in pastel blue (instead of the standard blue/pink/yellow/gold).
2) The Guest Column Feedback forum has become a limited-access Guest Column forum, in which only Contributors may start new threads.
It looks like Wienerville will become a de facto Slash when CRZ puts Slash on hiatus. As far as archives go, it looks like they will be around if the Slash homepage is still up.
[Personally, I can't blame CRZ for wanting to take a sabbatical. RAW's getting tougher to recap (I'll just have to frequent Online Onslaught and see who starts recapping RAW there), and most of us are becoming pretty negative on WWE as a whole, which has to be hard on him as a moderator and overseer. (Oh, by the way - shut up, Tully. I'm certain that running this site is harder that you think it is.) Add that to the stress of XO going into the drink, and CRZ has more than adequate cause for wanting to step away from the Slash for a while.]
Of course, the above paragraph was written before CRZ posted his RAW Recap, where he explained the REAL reason for his hiatus:
Congratulations, CRZ & Kim. I thought the change in housing had more to do with the whole XO thing. (Yes, I can be pretty dense some times.)
Have a nice siesta, Mr. - and Mrs. - CRZ.
Steph
P.S. Edit your overly-long "long", Steve Rogers. It's screwing up the board.

Ah...strangely, a 'net recapper takes a break and it's NOT because of distaste for the product. (Actually, the people who hate it the most seem to keep right on recapping, but that's their issue, not mine.)
In all seriousness, CRZ, congrats on the nuptials. Because in finding that special someone, you give hope to all of us terminally-single internet wrestling commentators...

From someone who got put into the doghouse before (Banished folder) and rightfully so, count me as another wiener here who would like to wish CRZ and the bride-to-be the best of luck and happiness.
I have older siblings whose lives have become infinitely more complete and wonderful because each of them have found 'the one', so to speak. And because of that, among other things, I've got the coolest nieces and nephew in my life, and cool in-laws too. So in terms of life fulfillment and generally more awesome days, I hope for nothing less for the both of you!
Since joining this board, I've been able to come here and post ideas and reply to others and KNOW that just because my brother and I are the only wrestling geeks in our circle of friends, there are other wrestling fans (and fans of other stuff) out there who like to discuss the mat sport, politics, etc. Thank you very much for putting in the time and for putting up with a lot of us. Wienerville, and Slash too, like sodaz, will ALWAYS RULE!
Congratulations, CRZ and Kim.
David Crockett sez it best, folks: "Look at 'im, Tony! Look at 'im!"
Congrats, CRZ. And I dare you to find and wear the hat from the Savage/Elizabeth wedding at your nuptuals. Chicks dig the huge feather.
Of all the recappers on the net, you deserved your break the most. And should you ever decide to come back, we'll make sure to leave the light on for you.

Well, as someone who just celebrated his 1 year anniversery, let me add my congrats. And an extended road trip is what first let us know that we could spend the rest of our lives in the same house and not drive each other bonkers.
I've got to say though, you sure picked the wrong coast.
Expressing myself EVERY day - but especially on July 22, 2002!
Yeah that was certainly awkward. Even the announcers seemed ticked. Overall the show came across as much better than the 2015 debut. Villainous Protagonist ECIII is the heart of the roster, so keeping him as their centerpiece makes sense.
