For beating Barry Bonds and those Giants!

I am a Yankee fan, so it is hard to accept the guys who knocked us out as champs, but at least we lost to the world series champions.

Umm...while I'm not a BB hater, I'm happy for the Angels-I just wish Gene Autry could have been there today.

Game 7 was like they tacked on 9 innings to Game 6. After the huge comebcak last night, the Giants simply did not stand a chance.

Why do I watch? Because every episode has the potential to be the best one ever, and I'll be DAMNED if I'm gonna miss that one after sitting through this shit.

I agree. The Giants had the biggest meltdown in any Game 6 since the BoSox in 1986.

Congrats to the Angels, who join the Marlins and D-Backs as the only clubs in history as 1-0 in the World Series. Of course, my Blue Jays are 2-0 in the Series, and thus the greatest franchise in baseball history. Um....

I am not a fan of either the Angels (since I don't like Disney) or the Giants (no good reason), I was dreading this World Series as much as teh Braves - Yankees one from a few years back. But I have to say, this was a great World Series, almost as good as last year. Exciting through and through, even the blowouts had something interesting going for them. All in all, very enjoyable.

And you know the best part of the entire series? Tonight, as the awards were being given out in front of 40,000+ screaming celebrating fans, they all took time out of the celebration to boo when Bud Selig was introduced.

I just want to thank the Giants for putting 16 game loser Livan in game 7 as the starter. Way to go!

I may be biased, but the Angels were the better team this year and they deserved to win.

And what the hell was Pierce Brosnan doing next to the Autry widow?

Gee, I guess the Angels really missed Maurice Vaughn this season. Funny, prior to the year he was talking about how Percival had never won anything in his career. Well Mo, except for the free pass to Legs and Eggs at the Foxy Lady, what have you ever won?

I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

Well, I'm a Gians fan but I'm an honest one. I totally agree with everything from this post.

And is it just me or did everyone in America EXCEPT Dusty Baker think that Hernandez should have been pulled BEFORE Anderson. Right after the intentional walk, I would have brought in Zerbe.

That was two games in a row that the Giants fucked up with their pitcher management, and in both, it cost 'em. Ah, well.

Have to stay loyal to my home team, and thus: DAMN YOU, MONKEY!

Good game to all involved, congrats to the Angels, may Benito's intimidating arms stay in your nightmares for years to come.

To answer the implied question, what were they thinking: Who won Game 7 of the 1997 Series, again?

Sure, he wasn't exactly the best pitcher this season, but he had shown he had experience in playing with this kind of pressure. Now this shows just how important experience is.

For the record, Jay Powell won Game 7 of the 1997 world series. He relieved Al Leiter who was the starter. Livan pitched well in that series, but so did Jeret Wright.

Not only did Livan lead the league in losses, but the Giants even tried to trade him during the regular season. Sure hindsight is 20/20, but Dusty goofed when he made Livan the starter of games 3/7. Rueter should have been the man, and he proved it Sunday night.

As an Angels fan who may never see his team here again, I'm on Cloud Nine! This is Dodger Country here and it's about time the Angels stepped out of that huge, blue shadow.

And I think we're forgetting what a huge statement this victory is. Although they are owned by Disney, the Angels payroll is next to jack. This championship proves that a baseball team doesn't need a near-billion dollar payroll to win a championship (I'm looking at YOU, Mr. Steinbrenner!).

I like the Q too... many memories for me in that place, good and bad. I've seen a ton of baseball and football in that place. But PETCO Park should be magnificent. I've got my season tickets lined up.
