<< Maybe just maybe I was joke-making. >>

Well, then I'd say you can dish it out, but you can't take it.

I've been poking fun at your long-windedness since the second or third post in this thread. I gave up trying to win the argument a long time ago.

<< Dude, why don't you like the Rock? >>

Another joke. Went over your head apparently. I do like the Rock, but anytime an argument in the IWC gets childish (about once every six minutes) it eventually degenerates into insults about whose favorite wrestler is whom. Rock is funny, and much missed at TV right now. I hope to hell they don't make that Johnny Bravo movie with him, though.

<< I like that you keep saying how you quit posting here and you don't like to waste your time and all that stuff while continuing to write huge snot nosed posts. Methinks you protest too much. >>

I like how you only have three posts and are named after Calvin's imaginary friend.

<< But please either write another long post to stroke your ego or leave again, either way the real winners...are the fans. >>

Good God! If I came here to stroke my ego I would be in bad shape. I doubt that more than two or three people are even reading this thread any more. I'll leave if CRZ asks me to. "The fans"?.....yeah, right.

I can see that I've failed in my attempts to deflate the pretentiousness of what this argument devolved into by parodying it. Justin seems to finally be onto something with his "bullshit on top of bullshit" remark. You're finally getting it. From day one, you guys have taken this way too seriously. I haven't given a crap since my first post. Everything after that was just rattling your cages.

So having established that this is just silliness once again, let me answer in a way that will be obviously silly to even the folks who've engaged me in this thread, their close buddies, and their sock puppets:

Poop on you.

At least I can drive better than Kane.

Are you getting it now? You guys need to lighten up.

Later, Rudy

Oh yeah, the whole "leaving" thing was parody too. I mean, Christ, how many times did I use that in this thread? Now look at other threads I've posted to. Have i used it in other threads? No. Other threads here are usually civil. Wienerville is still fun, even when I have to lurk because of real-world time constraints. Like I said, if CRZ finds my posts offensive and asks me to leave, no problem.

Good lord man, are you Jenk or something? If not, you're his twin. Making these long, egotistical posts one after another only to later say that they were all a joke! You don't care about this topic! It was all for fun! Ahuh, everyone buys that. Your jokes don't seem to have any real, you know, punchlines or humor.

In a way though I am starting to think it's a joke the way Eric S is a joke. I think you'd disagree with a topic about how air is great and you'd throw in some putdown about the age of everyone else on the board and perhaps a reference to something you've read lately.

I wish these vague threats of how you've left the board before weren't threats but promises because this is a joke that doesn't deserve to be heard.

What I got from Rudy in this thread:

1) The quality of the product has nothing to do with its success, it's all based on a cycle.

2) It would take an increase in the quality of the product to "trigger" the upward part of the cycle, so the quality actually does matter.

3) But it doesn't. Get it?

4) Despite the independent research that said wrassling fans are poor, they are coveted because less specific analysis reveals they are, in fact, 18-49 year old males.

5) Because Raw changed channels, people stopped watching Smackdown, buying pay per views, attending live shows, and buying merchandise.

6) The Jericho/Benoit push didn't happen while they were in the main events, but when they were in the midcard and UT/Kane in the main events.

7) Justin is 20 HYUK HYUK HYUK

8) He was only joking anyway.

<< What I got from Rudy in this thread: >>

Actually, the points you "got" are from other people misinterpreting and misrepresenting what I said in a sad attempt to "Win". However, since you seem to be a real poster and not a pathetic alter-ego, I will try to clarify each point.

<< 1) The quality of the product has nothing to do with its success, it's all based on a cycle. >>

I repeatedly said the opposite of this. I stressed that the quality of the product will determine the length and depth of a ratings slump. However, I made a side remark that once the ratings had peaked at over ten million, they had nowhere to go but down. I never said that it's ALL based on a cycle, but to deny that there is a cycle is even more wrong-headed. Childish minds leapt on that as some sort of "gotcha", at which point I stopped being serious.

<< 2) It would take an increase in the quality of the product to "trigger" the upward part of the cycle, so the quality actually does matter. >>

That doesn't contradict anything I said. It does prove that I was not making the arguments that the other folks in this thread were getting bent out of shape over. That's why I stopped being serious. If I said the sky was blue, they'd respond by claiming I said the sky was purple.

<< 3) But it doesn't. Get it? >>

Looks like you got caught up in the foolishness. Just go back and read my posts, and not the ones that misrepresent what I said.

<< 4) Despite the independent research that said wrassling fans are poor, they are coveted because less specific analysis reveals they are, in fact, 18-49 year old males. >>

The "independent" research that is so often cited is a series of studies that were commissioned by companies that were competing against wrestling for ad dollars. At least they were if you want to believe Dave Meltzer. He's gone to great lengths to discredit those studies, and then he turns around and cites them. Part of the reason you have to read Meltz with jaded eye.

<< 5) Because Raw changed channels, people stopped watching Smackdown, buying pay per views, attending live shows, and buying merchandise. >>

I never said anything remotely close to that. I said that one factor in the ratings slump was that RAW moved to TNN. HEAT was hurt even more by the move to MTV. If you want to call me on the carpet for something I wrote, please use something I actualy wrote to do it. Lord knows that nobody else in this thread seems capable of doing that.

<< 6) The Jericho/Benoit push didn't happen while they were in the main events, but when they were in the midcard and UT/Kane in the main events. >>

Pushes don't begin in the main event, they end there.

<< 7) Justin is 20 HYUK HYUK HYUK >>

I only brought that up as an honest explanation for why I'd originally let this thread die. The kid is 20. I've been working in and around advertising and the media since he was a year old. I find it hard to take his "insights" seriously about such things as wrestling cycles the ways the ad industry works when I know that he's not old enough to have any real first-hand experience with either.

<< 8) He was only joking anyway. >>

Yeah, for a bunch of young guys, you all get awfully intense. Lighten the hell up.

BTW, if my posts come across as egotistical, then perhaps it's a failing on my part. I'm just here for the fun of it. I figured that the fact that I don't use my full name, or put in a huge picture or sig line, or even acknowledge the other writing that I do online would be a clue that I'm not in this for ego gratification. It'd be pretty sad to be dependent on posts on a wrestling message for that sort of thing.

Hobbes, the sock puppet, seems to think that he can insult me by comparing me to people I've never heard of, then he wants to banish me from this board because he disagrees with me. Seems like some people DO have ego problems in this thread.

Time to grow up.

Hobbes is a real person and a famous advice guru in Kelowna. He's been profiled in print and on the radio several times and has never been molested by a goat. (One of these things is not true.)

Let it die already.

It's tricky to talk about how you don't acknowledge something by being the guy to bring it up, isnt' it? Just a notion

I dare you to get on AIM and try to tell Hobbes he's a socko.

Seems like some people DO have ego problems in this thread.

    Time to grow up.

I'm sorry, but no one's allowed to give lectures except me. Justin's indicated that he's stopped, please do the same. Everyone else is window dressing and hopefully you can be above responding to them, because they never would have posted had this thread never gone on this long.

Hobbes, you know I love you but it's pretty tacky to break months of silence just to come to the defense of your boy. It's as bad as when Stinko Malenko did it for Frosty in the other stupid thread that'll never die. What I'm saying is, please post more. ;-)

So, the name is not in reference to the great political philosopher?

Anyway....

I think this is kinda interesting, as far as the whole general mish-mash message board group dynamics thing goes...

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I don't really care about the argument. I don't know either of you and I'm not connected to either of you in the slightest way.

BUT

For some reason, I find myself siding with Shapiro. Not so much siding with his argument, cause like I said, I don't get it. But more like, siding with him the way my wife sides with miscellaneous wrestler if she happens to see 5 seconds of a show, even though she has no idea why.

Ok fine, I'll stop CRZ or should I say HITLER. I'd just like to say that all my posts in this thread have beens jokes like Rudy, very funny jokes. I will tell one last joke and then me serious, much like Lance Storm. Rudy is a dumb cunt. There! That was a joke!

Also as Kim said, I am not a socko, I am very famous. I've been selling mediocre advice Rudy since you were uhh...whatever you were doing a few months ago and when you put that time in doing my job maybe you can talk to me.
