Although not of the quality of past seasons of the show, it appeared this weeks episode was at least an improvement over the past few weeks. Surprisingly, it was the show with the least Janice in the past few weeks, but that must somehow only be a coincidence. Still shocked that someone who was French actually won a fight, but I think that didn't last long. It looks like Paulie will make his long awaited return next week, so that can only be viewed as a positive. Nice to see Tony display some of his inner rage after the horse/goat Patterson dream date moment of the week before.
I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.
I dunno, I've liked this season so far, but I guess I don't watch this show for the hope of someone getting offed every week. What this episode has me wondering is whether Tony is willing to recognize the consequences of his actions. He's always been guilt-ridden, but will he now see the long range impact of his actions, and modify his behavior? Have I been reading too much Thomas Haskell lately? And I thought the horse thing was supposed to be an allusion to the ducks. Assuming a piece of art can allude to itself.
Well I don't watch it to see someone getting killed every week either, but this episode at least had some forward motion that DIDN'T get reversed five minutes to the end of the show.
And, we get to see the kids! whippee! Sorry, I could do without Meadow working at the law center. If they had explained it a little better, maybe I would care. And, seeing Anthony JR down in the basement, I was expecting the round table treatment ALA That 70's Show. All of them stoned and shit!

So far, as I see it, the big, meta-stories this season have been: 1. Tony wants out, kinda, and Christopher is his ticket. 2. Christopher, on the other hand, is really in a downward spiral, even more than usual. 3. Adrianna is cooperating (sort of) with the FBI. 4. Carmella has a crush on Furio. 5. Meadow is growing up. 6. Paulie is, apparantly consciously, working against Tony. 7. Some crap with Janice that will likely go nowhere (but, again, at least alludes to previous seasons).
Admittedly, #6 has been hit or miss, mostly miss, this season. I don't care about #5 or 7 any more than anyone else on this board (though at least with Ralphie's involvement, there is some hope that my prediction for the Janice storyline will be wrong). #4 could be interesting, we'll see. I like Furio, but maybe it's because we share hairstyles.
But #1-3 are a huge story, especially in light of Pussy's death. Couple that with Tony's newfound sense of guilt over Gloria's death, and who knows what the future holds? It seems likely that Christopher is going to get roped into the investigation (which I thought was their real intention all along, with Adrianna serving as a sort of super-bait--kind of like how you use shrimp to catch fish, and fish to catch sharks). Will he cooperate? If/when Tony finds out, what will his reaction be?
Plus, the Swingin' Neckbreakers appeared, a real mark-out moment for me (though I would have really liked to have heard them sing that patriarchical classic "Daddy's Little Girl").

I don't get it. He was pissed because his girlfriend is richer than he is? Watching any plotline with AJ is trying to watch nudity on TV being covered by all of those blurry-pixel things - I just can't see it. Every other thing he says is "Uh....I dunno". This kid is as exciting as a Rick Steiner match. Janice is of course, as exciting as a Bushwacker's match....or Bastion Booger. Also, who was the guy yakking in the toilet?
My favorite scene was when Mr. French guy opens the door and lo and behold, it is your friend and mine Furio! Man, they shoulda added another 10 seconds onto THAT one!

Now I've only seen the very first episode of the season and this newest one, but I dug the episode. I think it's because I have a soft spot for the chef who can't seem to ever get anything right. I also did not get the AJ storyline with the rich girlfriend, but she was really cute so I didn't mind. They have me hooked for next week, so I guess that's why the episode worked for me.

Of course it was Faarooq aka Ron Simmons - You really didnīt knew that? His worldwide fame as a singer was the only reason they gave him the WCW title in the early 90s! Donīt you remember the fan base back then saying: "What the hell?
