Just one. I sure hope this is a bogus report. http://www.backstagewrestling.com/newsline/37359885.shtml I am sure not looking forward to the SD! main event next month if it's not.
HHH: Nah, Edge isn't ready yet, plus he's too small and he should get a haircut.
Vince: But there's no one else.
HHH: I've got it, Big Show! See he's really big, we'll have him take credit for Brock's win over Undertaker, and there's your Main Event. Lesnar will get over big time going over Big Show because he's really big and Edge isn't really big. What'd you think, JR?
JR: Oh yeah, he's a hoss (rolls his eyes)
Stephanie; SREEEEEECH! GREAT IDEA HUNTER! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! You're so smart! Come on daddy, let's go with Big Show.
Vince: Big Show it is.
Austin (whistling): Here I come to save the day ... I'm waiting Vince, waiting for you to prove you've still got grapefruits and not moth balls.
Let me be the first (I think) to say: IT'S A CONSPIRACY BY TRIPLE H TO ENSURE HE'LL GET THE MAIN EVENT SLOT AT SURVIVOR SERIES!!!! Well, it's about time a Raw match did--it's been Smackdown for three months right now. And in the end, it's probably best to hold off on feeding Edge to Brock. Rey Misterio would seem like too much of an anticlimax after Undertaker (really, who's going to buy Rey Rey as a legit threat after Brock demolished the man who never ever loses?). Angle APPARANTLY will be saved until WM, which I think we'd mostly agree is good and just. Hogan--the time ain't right, and I'm not sure if it should be on PPV (but if it is, make it Royal Rumble). So, Big Show it is, buyrates be damned. Unless of course they make it a fatal four-way or something, as someone suggested in a different thread. EDIT: Actually, they probably shouldn't feed Edge to anyone right now. By KotR '03, Lesnar-Edge would be HUGE.
(edited by Vishnu on 22.10.02 2348) Baby, the world ain't round, it's square
DEAR GOD NO!! Whose idea was THIS?! Please tell me this'll be a SMACKDOWN main event, because if this turns into the main event for Survivor Series, the buyrates WILL tank!
But let's look at this realistically...
If Show tossed Undertaker off the stage, then that makes him a heel. Thus the proposed main event for Survivor Series would be a heel/heel match. And there's no way that'll draw (I know, I know! It won't draw anyway, but LISTEN FIRST!), thus leading me to believe they'll hotshot another feud for Survivor Series.
But this looks to set up Undertaker's return feud with...BIG SHOW?! GOOD LORD! NOT AGAIN!
"See Nash, you can wear any Halloween costume you want to, but you know and I know that you're only half the man that I am - and I have half the brain that you do."
I'm calling it right now. The *ONLY* reason for this match was so that the WWE production crew can get a video clip to use in future promos of Lesnar picking up Big Show for the F5.
Or we could say that, though Show has been booked terribly, he's still BIG and the perception is still that he is a man that could hurt people. Very badly. Especially when he is just coming off of killifying three guys on RAW.
So, to have Brock murder show...Umm...I shouldn't say that, given some of the current storylines...to have Brock go over Show easily, would add even more mystique to the Brock character. I mean, no matter how you slice it, it is pretty damned impressive to see Brock pick up a guy that is seven feet tall and throw him around. Then when somebody finally beats Brock (probably Angle) or when a smaller guy has a good showing against him (say, Edge), it looks that much more impressive.
It is also very probable that the RAW "Elimination Chamber" will be the main at Survivor Series, so if that turns out to be a good, or even an interesting match, then I doubt that a Brock/Show match on the undercard would have a severly deterious effect on the overall Survivor Series buy.
I should have listened to spf2119 about HHH because he is the smartest Wiener around.
Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)
Vikings (1-5) - Well on our way back to 1-15. Badgers (5-3) - Apparently the Motto is now "Wisconsin: Seeing How Many Close Games We Can Lose" Twins (OUT) - Oh well, if we're still around next year... Buffy 7.4 earns a 6.123 Out of 10 for being contrived and rather stupid. But at least the characters are less annoying than last season. And next week: All Anya, All the Time.
All right, I know that this might be heretical, but I think it's a FANTASTIC idea in the long term for Brock to slaughter Big Show at a major PPV. For years they will play the inevitable F5 clip into the ground to show what a beast he is. Will the match suck? Almost certainly. Is this a program I want to see for 3 months running? Hell no. But as a one-shot deal, it can only help to continue to build Lesnar until finally when he loses to (Angle? Edge? HHH?) it's a HUGE deal. Hell, I'd push Rikishi in the Dec. PPV slot just so he can continue to destroy giants. Brock is the future for the next 10 years of this company, so they need to build him right. And one big part of that is making him look unstoppable right now.
Maybe Show has got switched so Lesnar can pull off his Shooting Star on someone with enough bulk to minimise potential damage. I'd mark out in a big way for him to pull that off and totally upstage 'Elimination Chamber' at 'Series.

That's the best explanation for it, I think. I'd like it even better if someone finally developed a character for Show. He's as imposing as and more mobile than Andre, and doesn't have that thick French accent muddying his speech. Maybe someone could spend some time with Show - perhaps get him to whip out that long-rumored moonsault of his. It would give his opponent a whole new understanding of how the Wicked Witch of the East felt when that house fell on top of her.

I'm going twenty-four hours a day...I can't seem to stop - "Turn Up The Radio", Autograph
I'm shocked that nobody mentioned the Angle-Benoit match at Smackdown. It was said to be good but because of the Big Slow, there wasn't that much heat.
Also that backstagewrestling.com report was probably cut and pasted from Meltzer's spoilers. Meltzer's spoilers are always funny.

HILARIOUS. Note sarcasm. I'm actually shocked that no-one's mentioned the inevitable Brock face-turn out of this deal. Taker giving him props, Brock laying out Eddie/Chavo/Benoit at the end of the show...Has nobody else picked up on this?
I'll put it this way...The last time Vince and Steph took a ridiculous idea to Heyman and said "make it work" (the gay wedding), we got one of the greatest swerves in the history of the business out of it.

I'll put my faith in Heyman to make this work.
Is is not possible, with Stephanie supposedly being the head writer, that she was responsible for one of the greatest swerves in the history of the industry? Or does everything good that happens have to be credited to Heyman? Think of it, maybe Stephanie wrote Eddy's promo from last week. Why not?
I think if we are going to blame Steph for the horrible angles on Raw, we should also give her credit for the good ones on Smackdown.
Smackdown sounds good again. Turning Brock face seems like a better idea to me than turning Angle face. Especially if Angle is going to train for the Olympics. Do we want another face to lose in the Wrestlemania main event and disappear the next night?

Well said, and I agree with you 100 percent. That's a problem. I don't know whether to give her props or not.
