God, her announcing was horrible. The worst part was when she talked like Coach during D-lo's match against Raven.

I was expecting her to be Jacqueline level bad, but she was slightly better. Hopefully, she can improve into something decent. If Michael Cole can become tolerable, I have faith in anyone.

While the first match she called was pretty bad, the rest were tolerable. Lita has one strike going against her simply because she doesn't have a broadcast voice. It's not like every single thing she said was god awful, there were plenty of spots where she did just fine.

Now how about we talk about something a little more important, such as the matches on heat?

Steven Richards vs. Hurricane was a good match. Kind of lame to see Hurricane lose on Heat while being a tag champ on Raw but I suppose he's lost 75% of his matches since becoming The Hurricane and it hasn't hurt his popularity any. Steven Richards actually looks really good. The should use him on Raw more.

Spike Dudley vs. Justin Credible wasn't bad. If Lita wasn't in trouble for putting over Smackdown on WWE.com she will be now for mentioning Bret Hart without saying anything negative aboot him.

Molly vs. Jaqueline was a solid match. The crowd breaking out in an HLA chant, though, just goes to show that the common fan would much prefer naked women prancing around than a competitive women's division. While Jackie was posing, I suddenly had a vision of Kurt Angle swinging a chair at her and it bouncing off her breasts and smacking Angle in the face.

The Raven/D-Lo match was standard for them but Raven's interview about being silent no longer and time for him to unveil his masterpiece makes me wonder if they're about to give him a story on Raw. Personally, I hope so because Raven is one of my all time favourites.

All in all, the show was entertaining. Lita wasn't great but she was far from the worst I've ever heard.

J.R. actually mentioned the Hitman in passing this past Monday, when Jericho put Kane in the ringpost figure-four.

I know, I was just being facetious. I'd also like to add that I thought it was exceptionally funny when Justin Credible was trying to beg off of Spike and stuck out his hand for a hand shake and Spike responded by biting his fingers.

Hey Yo...

Bret Hart's been put over subtly for the last four months. I've heard his name and positive words at the same time on many an occasion, because I remember a few times turning to my friend and we both noticed how Bret was being mentioned in a positive light lately.

Ok, I said I'd give her a chance and I did. She was terrible.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

She didn't sound comfortable at all. In fact, she sounded like she was reading off of cue cards.

But, I'll give her a couple weeks to get herself together, before I start calling for a replacement.

Badgers (5-1) - Congrats to Penn State. Time to rethink our defense.
Twins (0-0) - 'Tis a new season! Really scary finish though...
Buffy 7.2 earns a 8.8 Out of 10 for being the funniest episode since "Tabula Rasa" and without the dramatic ending. It might even have scored higher if my UPN's audio didn't cut out and I didn't have to watch it in closed captioning...

I found her commentating to be multi-orgasmic, in a cosmic sort of way.

Scratch that, she sucked. But it's not her talent, it's just that she doesn't have a voice for broadcasting. She's one level below Chyna on the "people who should never be allowed near a mic" list.

I read most of these posts before I watched the show, & y'all had me expecting the worst. Lita was not at all awful! She wasn't extremely comfortable, & I'm not convinced that she was miked to her best advantage, but she was OK. She'll definitely get better as she settles in. She's a little unsure about whether to call the match or shill the upcoming events, but that's an experience issue. There were a few times when she did call moves & provide some good "value added", & she can work on doing more of that. She was also doing just fine in her interaction with Coach. I think as she gets more experience, it'll become an OK thing.

And maybe, as some of you guys get more accustomed to hearing a female commentator, maybe you'll feel better about having her there.
[ Ducks the barrage of hurled objects ... ]

I also thought the Molly/Jacqueline match was pretty solid. You've got to give Molly credit -- she reacted to the crowd's "HLA" chant just like Angle sells the "You suck". I do wish they'd use Jacqueline more -- she does a good job.

BTW, is this the first time we've seen the TE3 commercials?

Maybe I'm just old school but whatever happened to the days when women just came down to the ring with their man, stood in the corner, looked hot, and handed her man foriegn objects out of her purse. The involvement of all the women is a bit much and often they're in some sappy soap opera angle anyway.

There are good female commentators on the roster like Ivory, who is the female standard to which all others are held. Lita is bad on commentary.

Lita wasn't as awful as she was on her Velocity "try-out" or whatever it was, but she was still pretty bad. I can't blame them for wanting to give her something to do, and all that, but geez. Let her be a backstage interviewer, or a ring announcer, or ANYTHING. I mean... I assume they let her audition, or something, and that before she actually got put on the air she had a few practice sessions... surely they could've spotted this, given her a few pointers.

Unless you count the "Shows Returning to MTV" commercials, then, this is the first I've seen any TE commercials on MTV this season, yeah.

I didn't see her on Velocity but I thought she did a decent enough job on Heat. Maybe my expectations were low and I was expecting Jaqualine level of bad (oh that WAS awful) but Lita actually surprised me somewhat that she didn't suck... I liked her Bret/Spike connection, I also liked when Coach was talking about the fat samoans during the beginning of the women match Lita said "Sorry I was focusing on this match". Plus she jumped in a few times describing moves. I thought she did okay and deserve another try if they want her.

Richards def. Hurricane - WassUpWitDat? I like both of these guys but really surprised Stevie got the win (don't really know if it's a good surprise or not?)

Spike v. Credible- Cute Spike give the glasses to the kid was cute. I like Spike. Credible is one of them more forgettable wrestlers on the roster. Not that he's awful (he is pretty bad) but I just forget his matches 2 minutes afterwords.

Jaqualine v. Molly- There in Texas which means Jackie wins. I just can't enjoy a Jackie match, when I see her I get the same uneasy feeling driving behind a 18-wheeler and thinking a tire could come flying off. Get the same feeling watching Jackie "Those things are going to come flying off". Real good match, but again one of wrestling wonders is how Jackie could wrestle at all in that outfit with those breasts.. About the HLA chants, I still believe if you push the division for more then 3 weeks well, the majority of the fans would get into it. Call me naive (I might be) but I truly don't want to believe the fans are that freakin misogynist and sad (sorry to offend but if you chant for lesbian or scream to show your breasts I think that's sad). Errr it's bad enough that they have to fight through puppy chants now this. WWE sure doesn't help matters

Raven v. D-lo- I think Raven is so talented especially on the mic, Seeing how lame Raw is at times he really should have a spot on the A-show

My boyfriend, who used to work in both radio & television, said that it was REALLY obvious that they'd done a lot of post-production tricks with Lita's voice-overs. He commented that her mic seemed to be turned up louder than normal. Even then, it didn't cover up the fact she's THE WRONG PERSON FOR THIS JOB!!

I could not subject myself to hearing that voice for fear of my ears exploding or bleeding (that falls into the category of one of those obscure violations of the Geneva Convention), but my honey was kind enough to hit the mute button and supply his own twisted, albeit hilarious commentary during the Raven/D'Lo match.

Note to the WWE creative team: For the love of God, please, please, please, please, PLEASE do something decent with Raven! To have someone that talented under your nose and to just waste him the way you have in recent months is just re-GD-diculous!!

You guys are kidding about Ivory, right? I wanted kill her with my own two hands after sitting through "Wrestlemania: All Day Long" a couple of years ago.

Lita was nothing special, but I liked her better with Coach than D'Lo, Crash, or Al Snow. Mostly because she didn't spend her time commentating attempting to be witty and failing miserably, like the above three. If you're not witty, don't attempt it. It's just painful to listen to. There have been much worse announcers on Heat than Lita. I mean, as much as I adore the guy, she's a whole heck of a lot better than Shane McMahon.

That's only when Shane tries to sound like he's down with the homies, other than that, he was pretty good.

I think it was mentioned in another thread (re: Michelle Tafoya) that there's a reason there aren't many women commentating sports, and why most men that do are baritones. I believe we have more proof as to why that is.

No it doesn't. Just a blatant ripoff of Ace Ventura, nothing more.Well, it was enough of a big deal to scuttle the Nastys' role in the NWO and start them down the road of their eventual WCW demise. I tried to find a good r.s.
