According to the latest Ross Report, Bob Holly is going to be out for another 6 months due to a ruptured disc in his neck.
I have always enjoyed Bob Holly, and wish him the best of luck in his recovery. But how often has he been out due to injury in the past 3 years?

This is the third or fourth in as many years. I KNEW IT! He'll probably need to get the same surgery in his neck Benoit and Austin had. I wish I could say this sucks, but I don't see as much Velocity as I'd like and it's not like Holly will ever do anything anyways. He's been there too long and not done anything. Even if he did something awesome, I don't think the fans would buy it.

I cant think of any *valid* reason that would keep me from saying that this is a shitty thing to happen to ANYONE, main event superstar or not.
I hate it when people think someone automatically sucks just because they're not setting the world on fire everytime they're on TV. Not everybody can be "Stone Cold Rock Hogan", for crying out loud.

I dunno. Bob's out 6 months...Think TNA will still be around?
I feel bad for poor Bob. He got midcard hot a while back, then Angle broke his arm. Then he tried to come back to get his TE heat, but he was out as soon as he came back. Now this? Too bad.
I was never high on Bob as anything more than a midcard level guy, but I still enjoyed seeing him once and a while.
Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)
Vikings (0-4) - Whoops, that kinda...Uh...Sucked. Hey but at least we looked better in the second half! Badgers (5-0) - *Sigh.* Bye weeks sure are boring. Twins (1-1) - Well, that wasn't so hot, now was it? Buffy 7.2 earns a 8.8 Out of 10 for being the funniest episode since "Tabula Rasa" and without the dramatic ending. It might even have scored higher if my UPN's audio didn't cut out and I didn't have to watch it in closed captioning...
I agree, Frosty, what I meant to say was, "This sucks! And as far as his career is concerned, I wish I could say it sucks, but he doesn't do anything anyways." I agree, the WWE needs jobbers. I just was longing for the days when Holly was fueding for the IC title. Sighs. Those were the days. Oh well.

I believe this is his 3rd injury in as many years. He broke a rib in early 2000 when Rikishi landed on him wrong at a house show, he broke his arm in that infamous Angle match in summer 2000, and now this. He had one more extended period that he was out, but that was to get the plate taken out of his arm from the broken arm, so it wasn't a new injury. If I had to guess, I'd say he's missed 16-17 of the last 36 months, soon to be 22-23 of the last 42.

Deion's right, the guy's not going anywhere, but it sucks this happened to him.
I thought they were doing a decent job of making him a mid-card badass. He threw some stiff-looking chops, and I think TE did wonders for letting us get to know him better.

I wish Bob Holly a full and speedy recovery, but I think Bob Holly should stay away. He's not bad in the ring at all, and he's got a fair amount of charisma - but he's nothing special, and man, the guy apparently has a shitty attitude. I remember hearing him on Byte This! a couple of years ago, and all the guy did was whine and bitch about how he's been in the WWF longer than just about anybody and has never gotten his fair share. He also complained about how all kinds of new comers (Angle, Jericho, Benoit etc . . ) were getting big singles pushes and he was still tagging with Crash. Apparently Hardcore Holly subscribes to the "age and seniority before talent" bullshit. (Yeah, you really want HIM on top - that's all we need is another one of THOSE guys).
If he had something worthile to offer, other than being a very generic, mediocre wrestler with a annoying catch phrase, maybe he would have gotten somewhere. He's been stuck in the low mid-card forever and thank God for that. Sometimes WWE does get things right.
Sorry, I was kind of harsh on him there, but really, the guy is mediocre and very forgettable. Again, I wish him a speedy recovery and it always sucks when someone gets hurt, but I hope he takes his time getting back in the WWE ring.

I'm not gonna get into the stuff above because I don't really feel like it, but, most likely, at his age (39 in January) and his recent rash of injuries, we've probably seen the last of Holly anyway. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he ends up retiring and taking a job behind the scenes. He'll end up as a road agent or a trainer, that's my personal bet.

I know the Torch is saying that in their newsletter they have some story about Holly keeping his injury secret and the politics (there's that word again) behind that decision. Does anybody know about that?
Originally posted by PhantomI'm going to guess that it had something to do with Brock's powerbomb from a few weeks ago. That's probably what the Torch is speculating, as well.
According to the Ross Report, it was a pre-existing condition that was aggravated during the Lesnar match. So yeah, I'm assuming the WWE doesn't want their Next Big Thing getting a reputation for hurting people. He has enough Goldberg comparisons as it is.

Hmm... Holly and Finlay, workin' behind the scenes.
Is it just me, or is it kind of strange to realize that the toughest people at Smackdown may well be BACKSTAGE and not onscreen?
